KATE WARNS MADDIE'S KIDNAPPERS MY BOOK WILL GET YOU!

Is this a rather sick April Fool's Day joke from the Daily

Express?  Should they have mentioned that if Maddie

is found she is a Ward of Mrs Justice Hogg who has

sole responsibility for deciding upon Maddie's future

care, I do not think that would include Kate and Gerry,

who have not been with her for over half her life but

somehow know she is completely unharmed.

Maybe Justice Hogg should ask them how they know that!

I have added the tennis balls pic from the Portuguese Police files showing Maddie
ACTUALLY looked when she disappeared.  Everything is a fake about the McCanns..

MADELEINE:

FAMILY WARN KIDNAPPERS

Kate’s 384-page memoir, Madeleine, is being published on the missing girl’s birthday on May 12
Friday April 1,2011

By Tracey Kandohla

THE mother of Madeleine McCann is using the book she has written to send a plea to her daughter’s kidnappers: “Please, let her come home.”
Kate McCann’s anguished account of her living nightmare since Madeleine was snatched nearly four years ago is set to be this year’s publishing sensation when it goes on sale next month.
Kate, and her husband Gerry hope the book will be read by Madeleine’s abductors and even by their daughter, who will turn eight next month.
A friend said last night: “The book is another warning from the family that they will never stop searching for their beloved daughter. Whoever snatched Madeleine should be warned that the book will only bolster the search efforts.”
Kate’s 384-page memoir, Madeleine, is  being published on the missing girl’s birthday on May 12 and has been translated into several languages, including Portuguese and Spanish.

Madeleine McCann's mother Kate
The family’s spokesman Clarence Mitchell said: “Kate is writing the book to raise awareness of her daughter’s disappearance and to pay private investigators to continue the search to find her.
“Ultimately she is hoping and praying it will lead to her daughter being found alive.”
The international drive to market the book is aimed at triggering a vital new lead in the long-running investigation.
A friend of Kate said: “Anyone will be able to get their hands on it. If Madeleine’s still out there, as her family and friends believe, she could have access to it.”
Kate, a 42-year-old doctor and her cardiologist husband Gerry, also 42, are convinced Madeleine was abducted nearly four years ago.
SEARCH UK NEWS for:
In desperation, Kate has sent an anguished public message to the kidnappers, begging them to treat her beloved Madeleine “with love and respect”.
The couple said on their Find Madeleine website: “We hope with all our hearts that wherever she is, she is safe and well.”
They also hope “whoever may be with her is treating her with the love and respect she so deserves”.
Anxious friends have revealed that Kate has been overwhelmed with emotion while putting the finishing touches to her book, which she hopes will raise millions of pounds for the dwindling fund set up to find Madeleine.
Within weeks of Madeleine’s disappearance money from the public poured in, but it emerged recently that the fund had dropped from its £2million peak to just a fraction of that amount.
A friend said: “Kate is hoping the book will keep the search going for another year.”
Madeleine will be published next month by Transworld, who have bought UK and Commonwealth rights, including Europe, Australia and Canada.
A source close to Kate said: “No American deal has yet been done but it will be.
“Kate wants the book to be global because Madeleine could be anywhere in the world.”
Madeleine went missing from the holiday resort of Praia da Luz on Portugal’s Algarve days before her fourth birthday in May 2007 while her parents were dining with friends in a nearby restaurant.
The official Portuguese inquiry into Madeleine’s disappearance formally ceased in July 2008 but private detectives employed by the McCanns have continued the search for their missing daughter.
The McCanns, of Rothley, Leics, have developed close links with American authorities and have made several fact-finding trips to the US National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children.
An investigator also recently claimed Madeleine had been taken across the Atlantic, one of a multitude of claims and sightings that have been made over the years.
Amateur detective Marcelino Italiano, 36, insists the youngster was abducted by an Algarve-based paedophile ring and has given the name of two key suspects to police. His claims are being looked into by private detectives working for Kate and Gerry.
According to friends, researching and writing the book has been heartbreaking at times for Kate.
One said: “Writing the book is proving to be a very painful experience for Kate, reliving all the awful memories and writing about her darling daughter when she is still not home.
“It is the book she never wanted to write but the family are desperate to keep the search for her going.”
Kate, who also has six-year-old twins Sean and Amelie, said: “My reason for writing is simple – to give an account of the truth.
“Publishing this book has been a very difficult decision but with the depletion of Madeleine’s Fund, it is a decision that has virtually been taken out of our hands.
“Every penny we raise through its sales will be spent on our search for Madeleine. Nothing is more important than finding our little girl.”
Kate has recently accused the Government of giving up the hunt for her daughter, saying a series of ministers had shrugged off her pleas for help.
She said: “We need action, not fluffy, worthless words.”

Hi All

I find it strange that Brian Kennedy has not come forward and paid off these court fees. After all he, feels they were treated unjustly by the PJ and offered to help them financially no matter how long it took.

It has also been reported that the McCann's sent out begging letters for financial help recently, I wonder if Brian Kennedy was on their list.

Hiya Di

I suppose the strange thing about Kennedy is his employed solicitor still appears to sit on the Board of the Maddie Limited Company Fund.

I have always had some rather dark thoughts about why Kennedy would put his head above the parapet and go way beyond the point in defending the McCanns when it had became obvious to other high profile figures the McCanns themselves were involved in Maddie's disappearance.

Why would he personally go around cajoling and bribing witnesses, meeting with the PJ to feed them some wild story to divert them from the real investigation?

I also recall rather a lot of threatening comments directed to me personally from the likes of "Mum21" etc for daring to suggest he may be involved. But he is obviously involved in fraud and misleading the police, those are serious issues in themselves.

The McCanns via their spokesman have admitted that wider family members have benefited from the Find Maddie Limited Company they set up with public donations. John McCann was surely the first family employee to jump on that particular bandwagon. So why is it he has recently stepped down again? Around the same time as Gerry's boss, did he have a row with John McCann?

If the McCanns still need to beg it can only be for two possible reasons:

1) They went into this eyes wide open and it was a business venture where their unwanted eldest child would be sacrificed. A lengthy police investigation against them that floundered at least in Portugal and the lack of any prosecution to date coming from UK cops is not going to stop that single minded determination. People like this can convince themselves they actually are the victims.

2) And probably linked to number one, they know that in UK they continue to be investigated and they have a very real and genuine fear of what evidence there may be against them and just when that knock will finally be arriving at their well to do door. They know that when it does they will need every single expensive lawyer and defence expert will can buy and they also know those well heeled big wheels like Branson, Rowling and query Kennedy (as I think he may be involved) will not be around to bail them out.

I just watched a heart rending true story about the real life abduction of Natalie aged four months from Wales 20 years ago.

The woman who stole her came from up North and executed a careful plan to steal a little girl. She had serious mental health problems and diagnosed personality disorder (psychopathy). She had fantasy babies and tricked men into marrying her.

When she snatched Natalie it was realised from witnesses it was this type of woman who had kidnapped Natalie and that the best way to get her back would be to flood the UK media, make sure the family were on the front pages every day. Sound familiar?

It worked, the woman's estranged husband (who had just about had enough of her increasingly bizarre behaviour and phantom miscarriages), said he just thought it all fits, the e-fit provided by Natalie's nine year old sister and the behaviour - he contacted the police and the parents were driven through the night by police to an emotional reunion with baby Natalie, dressed in a boys romper causing the distraught mum to think it was not Natalie in that first few moments, but Dad knew!

The mother stated that the first night she just did not sleep, and each day just got worse and so by the time it got to the fifth day, the day they got her back she was in the most terrible state. But Kate liked to tell us how the first forty eight hours were the worst "we were almost non functioning really as Gerry has said" in some quite obviously well rehearsed lines (first interview Jane Hill, BBC). That just never sounded right, you do not start to recover after just two days, you actually descend into an ever decreasing black hole as any genuine parent would know.

I think probably both Kate and Gerry researched this well, but they both lack the empathy to actually play normal parents. Watching real ones, makes our normal human instincts about Kate and Gerry just that bit more certain. You may say to yourself but this is just too far fetched this just cannot be right....but there are people like Kate and Gerry.

John Kampfner: The worrying rise of the rich man's weapon of justice

In the week that super-injunctions broke new legal ground, our writer attacks a growing threat to press freedom

Friday, 1 April 2011

Just when you think you are over the worst, the forces of secrecy bite back. No sooner had the Government published a draft Defamation Bill, going some way to reversing many of the most hideous aspects of Britain's libel laws, than thejudiciary set a dangerous new precedent.

The recent decision by Mr Justice Tugendhat to grant anonymity to a claimant in a libel case is believed to be the first of its kind. The case, the details of which the media are not allowed to report, concerns a wealthy financier, a multimillion-pound family trust, and lurid allegations online.

I have no interest in the tangled web of people involved; nor, I suggest, do most readers. The trouble is that many legal disputes involve dark and often nefarious acts, which individuals might seek to prevent being exposed. Their interests, naturally, should be taken into account, but these should not override other considerations.

The only true justice is open justice, yet increasingly judges in the UK see the right to secrecy as paramount. Super-injunctions and other gagging orders are being handed out with alarming frequency. These forbid not just the revealing of information, but the revealing of the very injunction preventing the release of that information.

Hi Viv & all

I also remember Tony Bennett getting a threatening letter from BK saying he had to remove all reference to his son from every post on the internet, very strange, we all know his son accompanied him on his visits to witnesses etc., so why did mentioning his name matter so much.

Di said...

Kate thinks the supposed kidnapper is going to go and buy her book and let Madeleine read it. Kate also wants the paedophile who has Madeleine, to treat her "with love and respect", I really fear for Kate's mind.

Unknown said...

Hiya Di

Yes, I do recall that and I think the PJ were particularly concerned about the activities of BK, his son and those Metodoes in Portugal where it is clearly an offence to interfere in a serious criminal investigation. I have often wondered whether this is why Spain always seems to feature. If I recall Goncalo says it was unethical and unprofessional to meet BK and his entourage in this way.

Unknown said...

Hiya again Di, in relation to your second post, I certainly agree of course that Kate has in fact always seemed very unwell and time is clearly no healer for her.

Always there seems to be that distinct lack of support. We could see it in stories of what went on in PDL, he had extra tennis lessons whilst she was left to cope with all three kids - although query how true this is and whether that was said to cover something altogether more florid going on.

But there seems to be this clear parting of ways yet again as they approach matters in their own ways. It seems that anything to do with Gerry indulging his love of cycling and sport will get the go ahead from him. But just suppose he did cycle all the way from the Algarve back to Leics in the summer. How long would that take him? A number of weeks surely and who would be supporting Kate and the twins whilst he does this? It could be he plans to do this whilst the twins are on summer hols, it is like the further he can get away from children and normal parenting duties the more he likes it.

As soon as I hear about this proposed bike ride for Gerry, it seemed to me that would just be asking for public funding to do something that he would find immensely enjoyable. I have even seen him on his bike on a Saturday morning, it is his form of escape.

Kate no doubt feels terrible, she did not look after Maddie when she was there and now it is all pouring out in a book which as you say her paedophile captors will let her sit and read. Why does Gerry not at least get Kate some professional help? for fear of what exactly she would come out with??

I gather Fiona Payne (professionally Dr Webster) is still friendly and supportive towards Kate, but she is now (as of last December) a Consultant Anaesthetist, not Psychiatrist and so her help for Kate must be somewhat limited.

Di said...

Hi Viv

Thinking of Madeleine reading Kate's book, do paedophiles normally send their captives to school? I would have thought not, so Kate thinks they have spent their time teaching Madeleine to read!

I think Kate needs to be told what the meaning of paedophile sadly means.

Unknown said...

Hiya Di, how utterly terrible that would be for little Maddie if it were true. Does Kate have no capacity for thinking of what little Maddie would be suffering to still be alive and waiting for Mummy's book, to somehow effect a rescue. In terms of the utterly bizarre, Kate and Gerry continue to set new precedents.

Everything seems to be on hold for the summer. I read on JM an article albeit from The Star which is always difficult to believe, but it states the libel case will go ahead according to Duarte in the summer or perhaps September. Just like Gerry's bike ride it would seem. Does everything they now wish to do all hinge on them getting some dosh off Kate's book so they can go ahead with it.

I find it difficult to believe they would commit yet more funds to any further actions against Goncalo Amaral. In law I just have to ask myself how can some lesser court make findings of fact that so clearly contradict what the Supreme Court have now ruled, ie Goncalo is an experienced professional giving a professional opinion based on the facts of the investigation (at least as they stood at that time) and in so doing he is exercising his human right to freedom of expression, he is not harming them at all.

Is that what this book is mainly for, to fund yet more litigation against the man who will tell the world, they were and are involved in the disappearance of their own daughter? Just how many hundreds of thousands of pounds are they prepared to throw at this to try and silence him? How ill advised was it? Would anyone in UK aside from bloggers on the subject really be aware of him and his book if it were not for Sky News broadcasting their action against him? I think they both need a mental health check! But that aside, it is nothing short of wicked to state, as Kate has done, that this action against Goncalo will help the search for Maddie - there are only two people who can do that, the two that need to stop cashing in and trying to defend the utterly indefensible and the same two that need to stop trying to pass the blame to police or governments and take it on the chin. Particularly given I believe they actually planned to get rid of her, at least Gerry did.

Hi Viv and Di,

Today’s article in the Telegraph devotes nearly 1500 words to KM’s new book. A state of affairs most authors and publishers would give their high teeth for. Embedded in this long article are a couple of short paragraphs which imo sum up the reason for this work of fiction.

‘The libel law firm Carter Ruck has been through the manuscript. Friends and acquaintances suggest that Kate will "want to settle scores" – particularly with the Portuguese police, who investigated the disappearance and became convinced, wrongly, the child's parents were involved.

"She does not forgive what they put her through," says one friend. "Kate is a strong woman and she knows what is right and what is wrong”.’

How dare they how very dare they suspect her! Words that are no doubt echoed up and down the land by those who don’t like it when their gods in white coats are under suspicion.

Today’s Sunday Express only gives a modest 412-word promotion to the book. It tells its readers that KM is refusing to do public signings because she is afraid of being physically attacked. The papers say, the motivation for KM penning the story is simple "…. to give an account of the truth.” Cough…. Reinforcement of innocence in the heads of the feeble minded more like.

Di said...

Hi all

Viv Yes, I would expect the book is merely to fund more litigation or perhaps to pay the costs from Goncalo Amaral's book ban being overturned.

I find it quite interesting that J K Rowling has apparently helped Kate to write the book, what imput could she possibly have, was she there? no, so how on earth could she help Kate write the truth. Yes fiction is all it could possibly be.

Wizard

Kate cancelled her book signing because she feared being attacked.

Does this mean Kate no longer ventures out of the house. Kate perhaps ought to have personal protection she just may be attacked when in M & S doing the weekly shop.

Funny, I thought it was Kate who said there were very few nutters, as we are so called, and that most people supported them, strange.

Unknown said...

Hiya both

For me The Telegraph article highlights the cracks in the McCann relationship that in a public way they are often so anxious to deny.

We know from couples like the Lawrence's that even when totally innocent as they quite obviously are in Stephens death, the sheer strain of struggling to get justice ruins the relationship. Inevitably one may be more forceful than the other and see that their opinion of how things should be progressed is a better option and it is not hard to see what an immense strain this could be. To most parents, the loss of a child is after all, greater than the loss of a partner. The fact that Gerry in particular is always so keen to stress how "together" he and Kate are and how tightly knit and supportive his family leads me to expect the complete opposite.

The article shows us that Kate has retained two good sets of friends that she fostered from the very early days. The Priest and his wife, it is of course odd that she would go back and visit them alone and not with Gerry and the children. Does she need to remember Madeleine without his presence or does he just not want to go, or would Kate resent his presence as he in some way caused Madeleine to disappear?

JK Rowling, did Kate foster her friendship in the early days because she was so scheming she planned to write a book even then? Or was it originally Gerry's idea, given her vast wealth. It would be interesting to know if there is something is JK's own background that causes her to have a certain empathy with Kate, she clearly sees her as deserving of sympathy and support, rather than blame, and that I find very interesting.

Unknown said...

I think here we see why JKR not only has a Portuguese connection but also why she would feel particular empathy with Kate....it is not hard to imagine she was the victim of domestic violence from what is written here causing her to return to UK homeless and broke.

In 1990 Rowling moved to Portugal to teach English, and there she met and married Portuguese television journalist Jorge Arantes, with whom she had a child, Jessica. Unfortunately, the marriage ended in divorce after a stormy two years marked by frequent quarreling. Although Rowling has denied basing her arrogant, lying wizard Gilderoy Lockhart on Arantes, she had noted that the character in the Harry Potter series was modeled on a real person who was "even more objectionable than his fictional counterpart."

Achieved Breakthrough

Rowling returned to Great Britain in 1993 when Jessica was three months old, and moved to Edinburgh, where her sister Diana lived. While raising her young daughter by herself and battling fits of depression, she wrote the drafts of her book in longhand because she could not afford a used typewriter, much less a computer. With the help of a grant from the Scottish Arts Council, Rowling finished the book, then found an agent, Christopher Little, by looking through directories at the library. In 1996, while its author was working as a French teacher in Edinburgh, Bloomsbury published Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, having picked up Rowling's manuscript after several other publishers rejected it.

Hi Viv & Wizard

J K Rowling has issued a denial that she had any involvement with Kate's book, probably a very wise move. Now who made up the story in the first place?

Last two paragraphs.

Wizard said...

Di, I think it was Lord Voldemort who spread that rumour - he was peeved with Rowlings for killing him off.

Viv – It’s an interesting point you make regarding the break-up of marriages after children go missing or die. James Bolger and Sarah Payne’s parent’s marriages failed as well. Conversely, the parents of Jo Bennet Ramsey stayed together, but then perhaps they had to.

Unknown said...

Thanks Di and I copy below the relevant two paras where it is clear JKR feels the need to distance herself from Team McCann.

I found it touching to read how she came back from Portugal, broke, homeless but clutching her three month old baby. I am sure there are things she could teach Kate McCann..given she did things in the right order, safeguarded her precious child first and foremost and then sat down and made a load of money, nothing wrong with that
~!

"Yesterday it emerged that the author had given a helping hand to Kate McCann, the mother of the missing eight-year-old, Madeleine, with her account of the disappearance in Portugal four years ago. But Rowling denied reports that she had written the book which is due to be published next month.

In a statement a spokesman for the author said: "While JK Rowling has been a long-term family supporter, her only part in bringing the book to publication has been in supporting the fact that her literary agent was also representing Kate. Beyond this, she has not been involved in any aspect of the writing, editing or publication of the book."

Unknown said...

Wiz, well yes and if Gerry was being real smart he would probably be stressing that their marriage is on the rocks, but as you say such couples just cannot split up!

I read a case about an Irish couple yesterday who murdered their respective partners to make it look like they committed suicide together. Twenty years later the male had enough and just had to confess to what he did. But she was remarried, hard as nails and not prepared to admit anything, so she got 18 years jail.

It was stressed that without his ultimate confession there would have been no chance of any conviction, but what kind of life?

That is what Kate McCann needs to ask herself and it is clear from looking at her deterioration, it is a really bad one.

Unknown said...

Actually Di

Kate is giving the impression that she emails, telephones, harasses anyone who may be helpful to her and gatecrashes their religious ceremonies. It is always at the back of my mind who may be the worst out of these two!

With educated and no doubt kindly people like the Hubbards and Mr Lawrence it would perhaps be difficult to say no to Kate? You either confront her head on and say well I think you had something to do with it, or you tolerate her.?

Unknown said...

I recall a Daily Express reporter a long time ago saying he knew what happened and the McCanns were definitely involved.

The Daily Express are currently absolutely blitzing everything to do with Kate and what has become her one woman crusade in their paper. I think this does have the effect of making the public think it is her that is desperate and has such a lot to hide. I have never thought the Daily Express are actually on their side but they did have to put their hands up to libel, is this their way of telling the public the reality but making it quite impossible for either of the McCanns to cry libel again by being so careful what they print.

No other paper goes to this extent, there has to be a reason. Gerry's favoured Sun has seemingly gone rather quiet.

It has to be said there could be other reasons as to why Kate was covered in bruises, than the obvious one of straightforward domestic violence. No person would blame a man in those circumstances.

Is Kate so desperate now she does not see the harm she is doing to herself?

Wizard said...

The Hubbard’s, as Christians would no doubt leave it to God to make the final judgement of guilt or innocence. In between, they may well support her.

I do not of course put KM in the same boat as Mira Hindley but Lord Longford campaigned for Hindley’s release remorselessly because of religious convictions. He believed that Hinley had seen the light and changed her ways through God. Imo he was not able to take on board the possibility that she might be manipulating him to gain her freedom. I would think that Christens with strong beliefs would have difficulty knowing the difference, as they tend to think the best of people.

Unknown said...

Hiya Wiz

I do not think it has ever been the place of priests to criminally judge any person and so the Hubbards are just adopting the normal role towards Kate and giving her the benefit of the doubt. Even if she were guilty (or they privately felt that way) they would probably still feel the wish to support her.

In the case of JKR, it is traditional in UK that those with vast wealth like her become the benefactors of certain charities and she clearly represents missing children. Officially, that is what Madeleine is. I think she would be astute enough to know that any public deviation from that position to show a particularly partisan stance in the case of Maddie could harm her own reputation and it is just good sense to make the statement that she has.

I do not think the McCanns ever really learn the lesson that other people are not actually there to just be used and abused to suit their own ends, and that does include their own daughter. It is notable that right up until the point when the McCanns came home with the twins, they were also using them in the worldwide publicity stunts. I am sure British social workers promptly told them, that needs to stop forthwith. We then saw the twins faces being blanked out etc and a request the press stop photographing them, but I am sure the McCanns needed to be told...

Unknown said...

As for Myra Hindley Wiz, it was reported she was indulging in lesbian relationships with female prison officers, that would obviously put her in a position of power over them where Hindley could then get just what she wanted, presumably including 60 fags a day, otherwise she would report them!

The only thing I have found that works are nicotine lozenges which I already used for flights. I started on 4 mg and then reduced to the 2 mg ones which I still use.

The patch does not work because I do not feel I am having anything, the chewing gum, I just start frantically chewing, you cannot do that with the lozenges, they are not so nice - you just leave it resting on your gum, but certainly with the 4 mg can feel waves of nicotine!

Ah Wiz, well ummm the pipe. It is helpful having a long garden, I am sneaking up there to imbibe and have even bought a new bench to sit up there and see how long I get away with it for - trust me when I am gardening these days, there is absolutely nothing that looks good!

How do I know well Kate and Gerry told me, you dont believe me, well this is a comment made to the Sun newspaper.

For Kate and Gerry the picture of a happy three-year-old clutching a bundle of tennis balls evokes a carefree time before they became household names.

Speaking in the documentary about the now-famous photograph, Kate says: "Gerry loves that photo.

"As part of the kids' club, they did mini-tennis and she really enjoyed it."

Gerry smiles and adds: "One of the tasks was to gather all the balls up and she'd obviously managed to get three in and she turned round to Kate and she's like, 'Look, I've got them all'."
