Child Abusers - You Can Run...But You Can't Hide....

Even as little as 5 years ago, he might just have gotten away with it - a high-ranking official, in a Government where corruption is said to be rife.

The "man" (for want of a better word) in question gets into an altercation with an 11-year-old girl in a restaurant. He then reportedly follows her into the toilet and grabs her by the neck, but she manages to wriggle free and runs back to her parents.

Her father, understandably, is upset, and retaliates on the man who assaulted his daughter. The man, an important public official, tries to buy off the family and offers the father money, with the response,

"Yes I did it, so what? How much do you want, just tell me. I'll give you the money. Do you know who I am? I am from the Ministry of Transport. I rank with the Mayor of your city. So what if I grabbed the neck of a small child? You people count for ****!"

This astonishing scene took place yesterday in Shenzen, China; a country often criticized for it's "closed shop" secrecy, corrupt politicians and human rights abuses.

But thanks to the Internet, ordinary citizens are fighting back. Only hours after the CCTV images were posted on YouTube, angry internet viewers had soon tracked down and named the aggressor, who has since been fired from his job - the reason being that "[his] wild words and behaviour have had an extremely negative impact on society".

Thanks to the wonders of the Internet, it is now no longer possible to hide one's misdemeanours behind the facade of middle-classness, wealth, education or political power. And this is especially true when it comes to the abuse or maltreatment of children.

Because now the whole world can watch - and question. And keep on questioning, until there are answers.

And hopefully make a difference.

Justice for Madeleine - and all neglected and abused children, everywhere.

Hi guys!

Hi Di, Nancy and Zodiac. Di, my 40th was on 31st July this year, but thank you anyway :-)))

Well Gerry's blog was predictably self-centered. I can't believe they had a "down" week. Surely they could have gone jogging, playing golf, tennis or maybe had a few bottles of wine to cheer themselves up at the pub around the corner (which is at a distance away from their sleeping children that is well within the realms of responsible parenting)??

Zodiac, I agree. Nothing positive at all. Poor Maddie :(

Madeleine McCann spokesman condemns 'lazy' and 'distorted' British journalism

10 November 2008

By Paul McNally in Bristol

British journalists covering the disappearance of British girl Madeleine McCann were "lazy" and "distorted" stories, according to the spokesman for parents Kate and Gerry McCann.

Clarence Mitchell told the Society of Editors conference the hunger among the press pack in the resort of Praia da Luiz resulted in "99 per cent" of the stories he was asked to comment on were based on "totally inaccurate lies".

"The British press out there in Portugal were lazy," he told the Society of Editors conference. "The Portuguese police hid behind the law of judicial secrecy saying they weren't able to comment on or off the record. That didn't stop lots of information from police files findings its way into the Portuguese press.

"When the British press made enquiries, they came up against a stone wall. So they resorted to sitting in the local bar which had the lethal combination of free wi-fi and alcohol and that was their newsroom."

Mitchell said the British reporters in Portugal were under extraordinary pressure to come up with fresh angles on the story each day.

"I had certain reporters almost in tears some mornings saying: If you don't give me a front page splash by 4pm, I'm going to get fired," he said.

"Things that were allegations or suggestions in the Portuguese press were hardened up into absolute fact when they crossed the Channel."

In March, Express Newspapers paid £550,000 in damages to the McCanns over a series of defamatory stories about their daughter's disappearance.

"[Her disapperance] caused immense pain and to have this ladled on top of them did not help," Mitchell said.

He added: "They feel the media are important partners in the search for Madeleine. We've only taken action when [reporting] hasn't reached those basic standards."

Di said...

We've only taken action when reporting hasn't reached those basic standards.

Hmmm Clarry, Are you sure about that!!!

Good Evening All,

I haven’t posted for some day now but always read posts to keep up to date. I see under discussion earlier was Gerry’s latest blog entry.

Well ………he tells us 200 people turned up to the fundraising event and 2 grand was raised for the Find Madeleine fund. He says both he and Kate were in much better spirits after this event. I would think this to be wholly true as their spirits must have been uplifted as the 200 people who attended presumably believed they were not involved in their daughter death.

This of course proves you can always fool some of the people some of the time. Very reassuring for them I am sure.

I hope you can sleep, because I know I would not!!!!!

I should just add. That is whether you had anything to do with Maddies disappearance or not!!!

Everything comes out in the wash, turn out your dirty linen now!

Justice for Maddie!!!!!

dylan said...

Di, thanks for the link. The bloody bare faced cheek of CM astounds me! How can he accuse the press of being lazy when the very two people who should have been active did sod all to go and look for their daughter? I will read the rest of it tomorrow as I've saved it. Presies, balloons and cake have still not arrived. Never mind, perhaps I'll get an envelope through my door tomorrow and a day out at my local police station ;-)

Hello everyone!

We can all rest easy - it wasn't £2k it was 5 grand. Important enough for an update as there's money involved obviously. I thought the website was dedicated to the search for Madeleine Beth McCann, missing since May 3 2007.

I really cannot put into words how this correction makes me feel - just bloody furious to put it politely. Madeleine is always an afterthought, after how he and St Kate are feeling.

Day 557: 10/11/2008

Correction to my entry last night. After adding all the money up the total raised at the race night was actually £5000! Well done everyone in Liverpool.

Good Morning everyone

Well now we know why Kate & Gerry were always one step ahead.

I wonder how the people who donated to the fund would feel if they knew that M3 were not actually looking for Maddie.

link

dylan said...

Good morning Di!

Thank you for the link. You are an expert at links now, I see :-))

Totally shocking! I see that the McCanns are implicated by default even though the contact said that the instructions didn't come directly from the McCanns themselves. So we now have confirmation that the Morocco "sightings" were a set-up and witnesses were paid to deliberately fool the world into thinking an abduction had taken place. Worse still, the article says that British Embassy were complicit. What on earth is going on? Why would our government do this?? What powers do these two hold? If, as has been mentioned, there may have been people high up involved in paedophilia (not that i am stating this as fact) why would these people on high want to make it look like Maddie had been abducted to order by a paedophile ring? Surely this would have brought the investigation around to them?

I am thoroughly confused! I wonder how trustworthy this leaked statement is?

Also, lastly, it was good to see that Amaral has been described as incorruptable. :-)

Have a food day all. xx

dylan said...

ooops! "FOOD DAY" !!!! lol!!!!!

Di said...

Hi Dyl

Food day lol..

I am pretty sure the McCanns would be completely aware of what was happening, Gerry took control from day one.

I am totally confused as well Dyl, perhaps Claudia can help out. I know a few people have been having doubts about D Levy regarding the 24 photos, but many people do think they exist.

Di said...

They are discussing this subject on 3A's

link

dylan said...

Oh my goodness, Di! Cheers again for the link. I haven't read it all as I haven't time until this evening but I will do. This revelation is as shockingly damning as I thought and judging by the comments I read on 3As, they all think the same.

This is the first statement that we have read that confirms that what we all believed to be dodgy goings-on, has indeed been very, very dodgy from the outset. Our question now must surely be - why???? I don't get it. If this article is true, an absolutely HUGE conspiracy has taken place and we have all had the wool pulled over our eyes. There must be some pretty nefarious activity up top for a coulple of every-day doctors to have received such help to cover up what could so easily have been either a simple abduction or a simple case of death by means of neglect and overdose. And by saying "simple", I don't mean to imply that either scenario is not tragic for Madeleine. I'm gobsmacked!

Enjoy your food day too! I'm off until later, and thanks again, Di. xx

I wonder how any single person who gave a penny to the Madeleine fund would feel if they realised that basicaly they have paid for the people responsible for her disapearence to get away with it?

Another sad case today where a baby boy was tortured to death and cant even be named. Not one of the evil B*stards who contributed to his death were only found guilty of causing it???

These Murdering scum will probebly get away with a slap on the wrist and a couple of years in prison for what they have done...

I expect the pink blog probebly feel this is a good result for the 4 adults involved after all they probebly believe child killers deserve a fund to be set up for them and if they get a good kicking in jail (no worse than they gave this poor baby) maybe they can sue the police and get out of jail and some compensation...

What a sick sad world we live in when children are neglected abused and even murdered and the parents arent named...

8 other parents go on a family holiday and leave thier children in bed alone so they can skip off to the bar. A child goes missing and her parents are turned into the victims whils doing nothing to help find her....

The friends who should be so grateful they still have their own children do nothing to assist in finding Madeleine refusing to go back and help with a re construction...

So they have raised another 5k what price is a childs life these days???

Where the hell is Social Services because as far as I can see people are allowed to abuse children to death or loose one due to their own selfish neglect and very little happends to them and some are rewarded with a whole stack of blood money god help all children with standards like these!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning all!

Hope, that baby story is horrible, I haven't read it but from what you say, I don't think I could stomach it. I wanted to ask you if any reasons were given as to why those responsible have not been charged?

It is at times like that we realise that our basic human right to have caring and loving parents, is not always the case. I know I have said things about my father but when it counts, he is always there for me. I had some upsetting news yesterday and both my parents came straight over to comfort me. Eldest daughter was lovely too and was hugging me. I am so lucky as there are some people that would have nobody in their hour of need. I'm determined to find a soup kitchen to help in this xmas, I plan to do it every year and never get around to doing it!

Docmac, still thinking of you. xxx

Good Afternoon All,

I live in the wonderful London Borough of Haringey - the little boy who was murdered and the borough’s social service involvement in the case does not surprise me one little bit. They have learned nothing after the similar death of Victoria Climbe and I am absolutely disgusted, angry and appalled at their mishandling of this current case.

The professionals involved should have been clued up and able to see through the lies and misinformation parents give to hide the true facts behind their child’s injuries. What is there purpose if they can’t do this?

This recent case highlights how people even professionals find the truth so terrible they choose to believe the parents versions of events. As we know the McCanns have their supporters and I believe it is for similar reasons these people find the likely truth too difficult to stomach therefore they give the Mcs the benefit of the doubt. Absolutely tragic but this happens too often for comfort.

Anonymous said...

Hi all,

Hope as always well said! Thanks for the link to that awful article.

I am so disgusted by how parents and people who are supposed to care for children are allowed to treat them so appallingly and quite often get away with it. I am totally fed up with all the Pro and Anti carp the supporters of child neglectors come up with. I would like to make it clear I am:

PRO CHILD RESPECT
AND
ANTI CHILD NEGLECT

Baby P known as 'Smiley' beaten to death despite 60 visits from Social Workers.

Yet these vile people who did this are not being named - just why not? I hope they get the vigilante justice they deserve in jail and never see the light of day again!

Shannon Matthews kidnapped, drugged and kept under the bed by her own mother.

This mother of course did a copycat crime - seeing the McCanns make lots of lovely money from Madeleine's disappearance, she and her greedy boy friend, another waste of space, thought they would end up rich and famous like them.

The UK have had enough vulnerable children killed by vicious parents over the years and still not learned any lessons.

They worry more about criminal and terrorist's rights than the little children who, after all, don't ask to be born, but are entitled to the love and protection of us all.

JUSTICE FOR MADELEINE AND ALL ABUSED AND NEGLECTED CHILDREN.

hope4truth said...

Hi ALL

Just been reading the Karen Mathews Trial and see they are both lying about what happend although what either of them hope to achieve is beyond me. Innocent until proven guilty means very little these days...

Reading this which is something I had not read before.... "Shannon had been drugged and tethered in the flat where she was found in March, Leeds Crown Court has heard."

SO Lock the pair of them up and throw away the key sick scum are not needed in society I know they got the idea that a missing child would bring more wealth than they could ever imagine and sadly that is the problem with the way the McCanns have been treated.

They have been allowed to get away with serious child neglect so bloody serious that their 3 year old child is missing. They have been in papers and on the news with big smiles on thier faces talked about themselves as if they were celebs on the cover of OK jetted off around the the globe meeting important people along the way.

Even now Gerry is delighted at raising a few more grand which will do what for Madeleine exactly?

Kate could have done more for her daughter than any money by answering some very simple questions. The sick people they were on holiday with who also chose not to care for their children could have gone back for a reconstuction but could not be bothered as they know more than the police...

Gerry and Kate hired a spin dr to make them look good??? Sorry but how does making them look like respectable people help Madeleine?

What a bloody joke England must be our Prime Minister had contact with a couple of child neglectors who more than likely are a billion times more guilty than Karen Mathews although it does not make it any better Shannon is alive where as Madeleine well Gerry has no reason to think she has been harmed although he wants the world to belive she is in the hands of a peadophile ring???

Karen did Shannon and the rest of her children a huge favour by doing what she did at least they have a chance at a decent life now especilay as the poisoned dwarf Craig Meehan Peadophile and all round Idiot cant get to them...

England if you have the right contacts you can do what the hell you like to your child and get away with it or at worse get locked up in a cell for a couple of years.....

Justice for Madeleine and all abused and neglected children it is 2008 not 1908 for gods sake!!!!!!

Di thanks for your link yestrday very intresting at least there are some journalists who want to print the truth.... Sadly if anyone can be bought to keep quiet over a child they wont think twice about finding a way to make even more cash out of what they know...

Tick Tock Tick Tock time will reveal the truth and what a way to live your life wondering if today will be the day someone cracks...

McCanns had Informant Inside the PJ - TvMais

A PJ inspector supplied confidential information to Metodo 3 concerning the movements that the Judiciária and the British policemen made on the terrain, searching for Maddie

by Hernâni Carvalho

The accusation is brought forward by one of the agents from Metodo 3, the Spanish detective agency that the McCanns hired, and was made during an interview that journalist Duarte Levy recorded for Belgian television. According to said Metodo 3 agent, the privileged information that the McCanns held were always delivered by an inspector who “benefits from a certain protection at the Judiciária in Faro” and by informants that are connected to the British Embassy.

The PJ investigators’ most confidential movements were always monitored by the McCanns or by their entourage. The information reached them through an informant from inside the PJ of Faro itself. The man from Metodo 3 goes as far as stating that numerous initiatives by Amaral’s men were known before time due to the alleged informant.

“That was the information that allowed for us to known in advance what inspector Amaral and his colleagues intended to do”, the Spanish private detective said. The interview was videotaped in Spain a few days ago and will be part of a documentary about Maddie’s disappearance that the journalist is preparing. In Belgium, the case continues to raise much interest and discussion. During that interview, the Metodo 3 agent identifies the man from the PJ in Faro. The Spanish detective states that he always knew that the investigation was condemned. And he explains that he always knew in advance about the purposes of the actions and diligences that were carried out by Gonçalo Amaral’s team.

The detective says that he tried to speak with the coordinator of the investigation at the PJ (Gonçalo Amaral), but the latter replied that, whatever he had to declare or to denounce, he should do it in an official manner.

During the interview, the detective explains that he wasn’t hired to search for Maddie and that he never did that. He says that was not his mission. His mission, he says, was to carry out actions that would direct the authorities that were responsible for the investigation and the search for Maddie, into Morocco or Spain. And that he says he did.

The detective advances that the McCann couple never asked him to lie, but that he cannot say the same about the McCanns’ team, or Metodo 3’s team.

When contacted by tvmais, Gonçalo Amaral says that he knows what we are talking about, but that he believes this is not the time for clarifications. The former coordinator of the PJ’s investigation about Maddie says he is still waiting for the lawsuit that the McCanns threatened him with, and at that time he will have much to say or to reveal. Another book…

Well, well

Karen was sedated with a combination of the very kinds of drugs everyone has always suspected may have been given to / may have been found by Maddie and / or the twins. Hmmm.

bath theory said...

Exactly Doc. I don't find it a coincidence that GB is feeling more powerful and this investigation gets effectively muffled.

In the case I was involved in Tony Benn told us you don't want a public enquiry because the government just puts up a person who gives them what they want. This smacks of something truly awful as these rooms were hidden and secret and given the news about bones !! Once again only points to dubious things around young children being not fully investigated.

Right at the beginning I remember a resident being interviewed who said this island won't allow the true story out as too many high rankers involved. Interesting to check where the current political bigwigs went on holiday during these times. You never know.

I visited a friend 10 yrs ago or so who was a vet at the zoo and loved the place at first sight.

"I see the government have performed a spectacular U turn and odered an independent enquiry into the Haringey tragedy (Baby P), after Brown shamelessly used it for political gain at Prime Minister's Question Time today and pointedly refused an independent investigation, whilst dismissing a perfectly valid challenge from David Cameron by making wild and untrue allegations himself and then simply behaving like the spoiled, spiteful socialist scumbag he is, egged on by the champagne swilling detritus filling the benches behind him.

Even now the Brown Broadcasting Company's are whitewashing his appalling behaviour today and refusing to report factually on how Brown's behaviour and the manner in which he tried to score cheap political points by remorselessly shouting down real concerns and valid questions from his opposite number.Gordon Brown has showed once again his true colours and they are not a pretty sight".
----------------------------------
I watched the PMQ yesterday and every word written above is absolutely true - it was indeed an ugly sight! Our children are not safe with this government - the Jersey case is another example of the lengths they will go to to cover up child neglect even when children die as a consequence.

While this excuse for a government are in power, Madeleine (and who knows how many other children) have no chance of justice.

Wow, Nancy, that poster certainly takes no prisoners eh?

Di, that's scary stuff. I cannot understand why child neglect and abuse is not receiving the government's topmost priority when incidences such as the last few tragic cases are brought to the public's attention. I did read the story of the most recent case, yesterday, as it was in my local newspaper. It beggars belief that the injuries had been spotted and the baby still remained in their care. Also, it was reported that none of the Social Service people who were working on this case, will be losing their job. Why? When that is what they are trained for and the costs of not doing their job properly could mean a loss of life. I am certain that if a stock broker lost millions through human error, he or she would be sacked immediately. So this means that money is worth much more than a child's life. I am disgusted.

Docmac, I hope this afternoon goes as well as can be. My thoughts are with you and the relatives and friends.

Docmac -

Scary stuff indeed, but so much is about our present government.

Dylan -

I think the government will have to cave in and sack the leader of Haringay Social Services - she was on TV last night trying to worm her way out of it. Everyone is up in arms about this particular case because it wasn't a loss of temper, but consistent torture of a helpless little boy.

May they rot in hell who did that. Hanging is too good for them.

Nx

dylan said...

Hi Nancy,

I agree wrt the "parents".

There's no way she should be able to worm her way out of it. They knew the child had been injured and yet they left him in the parents' "care". Also I read that the doctor who saw the baby just a day or two before he died, failed to notice that he had sustained broken ribs and another injury (which I think may have been to his spine) and said the child appeared to be "miserable" and "cranky". This poor baby has been failed on all counts. The poor little mite. A life cut short, completely needlessly, that could have been saved.

Back later. xx

Hello, everybody.
Doc, thinking of you and your friends' pain.

It seems covering up child abuse is starting to be a habit, uh? How sad. :-(

docmac said...

Thanks Dyl it did.

I'm not familiar with the competencies of SS employees in the UK, so it would be unfair to comment. There do seem to be a lot of mishaps though, and this case is particularly horrific.

On the flip side people who physically abuse others and get away with it become very smooth operators. Even in the case of the last visit to the doctor (who seems to have been a young, inexperienced foreign national doing a locum), I would be willing to bet that they had some part to play in the examination not being performed. Still, shame on the doctor. Poor child!

Incidentally, I see that a young mother stabbed her two kids aged 3mo and 3yrs to death in Manchester last night.

dylan said...

Claudia:

"Thongs on the 3 As are getting hot" - well some people consider thongs to be hot :-))))

Docmac, glad things went well. xxx

Whether us Brits enjoy alcohol or not is not the issue. The issue is enjoying it responsibly or if intending not to be responsible about it, at least making sure that children are not around or that they are left in the company of an adult that can take good care of them. I don't see the difference in what this woman has done to have her children removed and what the McCanns did, except that they "lost" one of their children during the course of their neglect. I think it is very dangerous to send out mixed signals on what is right and what is wrong and what seems to be the case is that it is OK for the middle classes to abandon their children but not OK for the working classes with no connections up on high, when it is equally possible for both to neglect or harm their children.

The law is the law and the disgression and equality of such should both protect and condemn people regardless of status, according to what they have done or have been a victim of.

I feel shamed by our country's hypocrasy at the moment and let down by what should have been done for the poor baby that died a horrible and needless death. :(

Zodiac, Hi! What is the link about? I haven't heard of Stuart Syvret before but I'll go and have a look.

Docmac the mother of those kids probably did not know that she should have at her behest invited Social Services round for afternoon tea. I think if she had and also included cucumber sandwiches with the crust off she would have avoided any action the first time she was caught practising mcwell within the bounds of responsible parenting!

Now, howcome I can't leave you guys alone for five minutes????? Really!

Hope you are all well and happy. If I were Viv and I saw the state of all the blogs and fora now, I would stay in bloomin' Egypt too. And I bet there aren't depressing child abuse cases all over the front pages of the papers there, neither.

I have been trying to find out more about Aberdeen too, apparently the Council here got well trashed in a Scottish Office report because the Social Work department is failing to look after kids at risk. So Alec Salmond has waded in to assist, Gawd help us all. I haven't actually heard of any kids that have been "failed" here, the report just says that there might be some, somewhere, so I suppose that is OK then :-(

I just looked in on the 3As and it seems to be imploding as well. It is awful, it looks like all the blogs and fora (both pro and anti) are suffering now from the lack of any REAL news from either the UK or Portugal, so everyone is turning on each other. It's really disillusioning. It looks like the McScum are getting away with it. You get the occasional lazy "sop" piece from the likes of the Daily Wail still trotting out the "abduction" carp and trying to link it to an 80 year old cold case. But that's it.

I was very disappointed as well to see the likes of Duarte Levy and Paulo Reiss being trashed; of course people have a right to be suspicious. But I prefer to go by people's track record to date and I have seen NOTHING to convince me that either DL or PJR are WUMs. Or GA too, for that matter; in fact these guys are the ONLY ones in any position of influence that I can see who are actually doing something for Madeleine, and for that they have my respect. (And also Martin Grime and his dogs).

But for those who were asking (I forget who it was, sorry) - that's not the reason I stopped modding on the 3As. I do still post there occasionally. Modding was taking up quite a lot of my time and energy, and I kinda lost direction a bit after I got accused of working for Team McCann and Friends of Israel and goodness only knows what else. Like I said already, I look at people's track record and then decide for myself. Sadly, some people believed all the lies that were written about me and I just got fed up having to constantly explain and justify myself. I also felt it was damaging to the 3As as a whole, which I still believe has a very valuable role to play in all this, so I left.

I haven't fallen out with any of the other mods and will say nothing against them. I'm sad to see respected, long-time posters turning on each other, but it is happening everywhere and I suppose it is only to be expected now, as people are frustrated and starting to see things that aren't there.

I will try and put up a new thread at the weekend to keep this blog fresh and interesting, at least. I wish I could get my hands on those 24 photos and I would bloomin' well put them on as well!!! I believe that they do exist because I have no good reason to doubt the information I got. I just don't think anyone who matters has the balls to do anything with them :-(

A situation that has become familiar to us all after 18 months :-(

dylan said...

Hello Rat, it's good to "see" you again & thanks for the clarification. I don't often read the 3As but there are a few names that I know of who have been posting there for nearly a year now and it was a bit of a sad state of affairs, as you say.

Yes the 24 photos are the "Holy Grail" (sp?) to bloggers of this case, that's for sure!

Claudia, naughty, naughty! ;-)))

Have a good day folks.
xx

Cláudia said...

Hi, guys!

Rat, the 3 As is in self destruction mode. The attacks on the only people who still haven't ben shut up will end up in implosion. Which is sad because Madeleine is the one who loses. For me, it is not a place of discussion anymore.

Dyl, sorry. ;-)

dylan said...

Apology accepeted Claudia, you cheeky little minx!!

Front page of The Independent today is all about the social worker Nevres Kamal who had written a letter to Patricia Hewitt to say that she had been ignored when she whistle-blew about an ongoing case of sexual abuse to a child. She appealed for a public enquiry but was then gagged. How can this be happening? Further more,Sharon Shoesmith, the director of children and young people's services, refuses to apologise for the council's role in Baby P's death and claims that nobody should be sacked and she will certainly not be resigning herself. She says that it was the family that was responsible for the death and not the council.

I find this very disturbing in that what this means is that council appears to be withdrawing any responsibility in child welfare by transferring culpability to the perpetrators of these crimes (who are clearly not capable of being humane, let alone responsible). What, then, is the point of having the welfare services if they are washing their hands of having anything to do WITH welfare?

I am convinced that Baby P could have been saved and the lives of others with only a little bit of care and mediocre observational skills - a small price to pay for a child's life, IMO.

Dylan,

The above is utterly shocking. Why are these people in these posts. How are they actually helping children? I cannot and do not want to begin to imagine what life and death were like for little baby P. RIP little one. I wont be surprised if we the public will be hearing in the Media and seeing in print that the Council have been informed from a realible source that the actions of the Social Workers were well within the bounds of Social Work Care practices! Hi all

This was posted by MCXLIII on 3A's

-------------------
Hernani Carvalho and Duarte Levy were interviewed today in PT TVI regarding ‘The PJ Mole’.
During the interview they contacted Gonçalo Amaral by phone, in order to obtain a comment, but G.A. was evasive.
Judging by the background noise he was in a restaurant, probably for one of his 3 hour lunch, according to Cabo Frio and the British press.
D.L claimed to have received several threats, one of which occurred a few minutes before the interview in the form of a phone call from the UK, and was witnessed by Hernani Carvalho.
They also mentioned a meeting between the British and Portuguese police that will take place in the near future in the Netherlands, were the Freeport case will be discussed.
D.L. didn’t want to reveal the name of the ‘PJ Mole’. He said it will be revealed in the documentary to be aired in Belgium.
The plot thickens as if this was a book from John Le Carré.

How I would love to know who made the threatening call.

Claudia

It will be interesting to hear what GA has to say this afternoon at the conference in Granada. I wonder if he will mention the mole?

dylan said...

Hi Zodiac,

Too true. It is utterly shocking. These people are paid to do their jobs and although I do realise that it is often a very difficult job, with blurred boundaries and distressing circumstances, nontheless, it involves crucial decisions for which they should be trained to make a judgement upon. Some of the blame surely has to be apportioned to those who had that responsibilty in return for a wage.

I wouldn't expect to have to pay council tax if my bins weren't emptied and my road was left as a cart track so why should i be happy that a portion of council taxes are being used to pay people who are not doing their jobs and as a result a child's life has been tragically lost?? I'm not much good at politics but I'm sure that welfare is a part of the council's infrastructure that is in place to ensure society is receiving a minimum standard of living, at least, and do not class the needless loss of a child an acceptable standard of living. Or, as you say Zodiac, 'Well with the bounds.....'. FFS, indeed!

Di, thanks for that from the 3As. Very interesting. Does anybody know when this Belgian documentary is scheduled to be aired?

What makes the baby P case so unbelievable is that there were 60 vists to this poor baby, including a doctor, social workers etc, and I can't believe that not one of them had the knowledge and expertise to see that this child was in peril and being tortured. I should have thought, given the amount of step parents who have abused and even killed their step children in the UK,and the fact that a step father was a guardian, together with a very young mother, 17 years old, and a male friend who the authorities couldn't have known, the danger to this baby should have been patently obvious, but this baby still slipped through the net. As this child was obviously on the list of at risk children, just what were all these experts up to?

The government will take a long time to live this one down - Haringey Council should be ashamed and the fact that they have still not apologised to the baby's real father, that is just a mind blowing revelation!
