OPEN LETTER TO NARCISSISTIC KATE MCCANN

OPEN LETTER TO KATE MCCANN

Pat Brown, Criminal Profiler
http://patbrownprofiling.blogspot.com/search/label/Maddie%20McCann

Yes, Kate,

It isn’t your breast size or weight that is causing your problems. It is you and your narcissist evaluation of the situation and your PR team’s equally stupid assessment of the situation that is making you look so bad in the public eye.

I am a criminal profiler with years of experience dealing with parents of murder victims and missing relatives. Your behavior and the behavior of your husband fall far outside or the norm for grieving parents. Now, this may be because you are just terribly narcisstic folks who had nothing to do with your child going missing (outside of neglecting your children and putting your needs to party before their needs for comfort and safety, a narcissistic behavior if I have ever seen one). You and Gerry may simply be so narcissistic you have no understanding of how other people view your behaviors and your PR team may share your narcissism so that no one on your team has a clue to normal human behavior.

But, SHUT UP! Every time you open your mouths you do more damage to yourselves. You seem guiltier by the day. Your attempt at “damage control” is so obvious and so very much a day late and a dollar short, everything you do or say seems a cover up and a transparent attempt at proving your innocence.

Let me make clear what I think is weird about what you say and do:

You choose words about Madeleine’s disappearance which make it appear you know there is no abductor and that Madeleine is dead.

Both you and Gerry state your only guilt in the matter is not being their when Madeleine “was taken.” This statement makes no sense for abduction as Madeleine could not be taken if either of you were with Maddie when an abductor would have shown up. It makes more sense in the context that Maddie died while you were not in the apartment.

Your statements and attitude about Madeleine being alive do not square with parents who really believe their daughter is in the hands of a pedophile or pedophiles who are brutally raping and torturing her daily.

Your attempts at “finding” Madeleine do not represent the manner most parents would choose if they were actively searching for a live child but appear more to be the actions of parents trying to prove after the fact of a child’s death that they “cared” (not care) about her.

Your behaviors of “keeping a normal routine” and “keeping up one’s appearance” is admirable, but extremely bizarre. I don’t know any other parents of missing children who can appear so together and cheery. When my daughter cooked our kittens by accident in the dryer, I cancelled Christmas.

Gerry’s blog creeps people out. It is too upbeat. Terrified and distraught parents of missing children are rarely able to jog and play tennis and go to park with their other kids and have a fun time. Over a long period of time, maybe, but this is usually years after the nightmare begins. Some parents never recover from the trauma and it is common for marriages to fail and the brothers and sisters to feel their parents went absent after their sibling went missing.

Your ability to sleep at night after the first five days, Kate, is beyond belief. It is the behavior of one who already knows the answer and even then, is quite a narcissistic trait. If you believed your daughter was being raped as you lay in bed at night, sleep would be very hard to come by. I guess you finally realize this and your mother is saying that NOW you can’t sleep and Madeleine comes to visit you in the night. What changed, Kate?

Your PR team coming up with an answer to every accusation, answers that are ludicrous in themselves, makes you seem awfully defensive, and, if there is no way you or Gerry had anything to do with Maddie’s disappearance, you have nothing to defend. Furthermore, if all you care about is finding Maddie, you shouldn’t be wasting your time on such silliness. After all, as Gerry said, Maddie is the only important thing, right?

So, SHUT UP, Kate. SHUT UP, GERRY. Fire your PR team as they are totally worthless. If both of you really are innocent and your think Maddie is alive, return to Portugal. Start searching for real (and it took six months to set up a hotline?). Cooperate with the police. Take the polygraphs as you have zero to hide and, with competent polygraph examiners, the questions are so simple you can’t screw them up. I will even give you the four questions that should be asked: “Did Madeleine die while you were present?” “Did you return to the apartment and find Madeleine dying or dead?” “Did you move Madeleine’s body at any time?” “Did your spouse move Madeleine’s body at any time?"

These are simple questions. The answer to all of them should be “No.” There is no ambiguity in these questions (unlike a question such as “Do you feel responsible for the disappearance of Madeleine?” which you could if you acknowledge leaving her without an adult caretaker is irresponsible; an affirmative answer to such a question would be useless to the detectives as it could falsely indicate that you had something to do with Maddie going missing when you are only feeling guilty over leaving her unattended. Also, an affirmative answer could mean you simply do not feel responsible for what happened to Maddie no matter what happened to her as a total narcissist might).

The above four questions are simple and unambiguous and even a narcissist can’t misconstrue the meaning of the questions. The answers will be a simple “Yes” or “No.” Have the polygraph session videotaped so the police will be unable to do any underhanded scare tactics or interrogation that might distort the results of the tests.

Quite frankly, Kate, you and Gerry had everything going for you as parents of a missing child if you hadn’t left your children unattended night after night to go out partying. THIS is what made people dislike you. It was to your advantage that you are both relatively attractive people because IF you had big breasts and a porky physique and were not well-heeled professionals, you would have become suspects right off the bat and you would have not had the incredible monetary support you have been blessed with nor all those kindly letters. You would have been viewed as just a pair of slobs who probably abused their children as well as neglected them and you wouldn’t have gotten the phenomenal amount of publicity worldwide concerning Maddie’s disappearance. Other parents have gone public, run campaigns, and had web sites, but your fortune with publicity and support has been unprecedented. And, you complain, Kate, that people are treating you badly because you are fit! It was being fit and professional and well-off that got you so much attention. It was you and Gerry’s fitness as parents and your peculiar behaviors that got you the negative attention.

Viv, it seems so long ago now that the evil pair 'agreed' to take the polygraphs. Methinks Gerry and Kate would each have failed on two of those very pertinent questions. Gerry on numbers 2 and 3, Kate on 1 and 4.

Where on earth did you uncover that first picture? It scared the bejesus out of me when I woke up. Still does. As for the third one, well! Rehab comes to mind.

Hi All

A quick post before I get abducted for the day.

I received the following in an email this morning and DO NOT know if there is any merit in its message but pass it on in case.

"Postal Scam
Can you circulate this around especially as Christmas is fast approaching - it has been confirmed by Royal Mail.
The Trading Standards Office are making people aware of the following scam:

A card is posted through your door from a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service)
suggesting that they were unable to deliver a parcel and that you need to contact them on 0906 6611911
(a premium rate number). DO NOT call this number, as this is a mail scam originating from Belize .

If you call the number and you start to hear a recorded message you will already have been billed £15 for the phone call.

If you do receive a card with these details, then please contact Royal Mail Fraud on 02072396655 or ICSTIS
(the premium rate service regulator) at www.icstis.org.uk"

I make no apologies for repeating this. It fits very neatly as a commentary next to the excellent profiler article. Basically peoples concerns are not being followed through by the police and courts in this country are they? but for how long is the question we should all pose ourselves.

...The fundamental point here is that the parents of a missing child have acted in a strange and inapproriate way for many people who are citizens of this planet.

The reluctance to be honest about being neglectful of their 3 children under 4yrs of age, their apparent lack of search for Madeleine that first evening, the shutter story changing plus eggman drawing etc and two expert sniffer dogs finding bloodspats and smelling death in the apartment etc.

Under these circumstances (together with many more 'interesting' points) it is not exactly suprising a huge amount of people are sceptical of the couple and their friends/family. Thus, it is entirely reasonable that questions are simply asked and answers on behalf of a missing girl are sought.

Statistically speaking those closest to children lost are usually involved so why not this time?

However this sensible rational line seems to be 'unacceptable' and 'shocking' but WHY? It is the sort of behaviour and claim we see in people nowadays who falsely further claim you are being rude when you politely and calmly assert your position or indeed question politely and calmly as to why something happened.

The only defence for such folk is to claim rudeness on behalf of the question asker etc. However, when one is assertive in a firm and direct polite way it is not rude is it, it is showing the other person you can't be fooled and therefore they have nowhere to go except the truthful honest path. BUT the truth hurts this type of person who has learnt to act in this way. They would rather lie or be deceitful to stop themselves being exposed or their mask being unpeeled.

Being threatened is the next response they use. But why would people who raise the possibility of something awful happening that night be spoken of in this way ? Most likely it is that because someone has something to hide or perhaps money is being paid to people to write/talk in this threatening way. This couple have money available from rich backers and could well be using it that way. Maybe what is being covered or blurred is too big a secret to want to share. Who knows? but someone does - that is for sure.

If these parents were truly innocent 100 per cent I am inclined to believe they would not be following the path they have done media wise, body language wise, lawyer wise etc. They would certainly have not evaded police questions in Portugal and would not have bolted home like they did.

Time will tell. I give it 3yrs before the truth will out. Someone close will have a breakdown and will want to share the secrets of that week to redeem their soul. It is only my opinion and it may well be wrong but it is a firm belief. I wish all well who follow this case especially those who question quietly and calmly.

bath theory said...

I understand it is possible to fake in a polygraph test and thus the idea that it is filmed is a very good one. Why? because in terms of communication it is believed around 55 per cent is delivered by body language and this would be seen on film. Talking of that were Kate & Gerry's police interviews in Portugal filmed ?

Good Morning ALL

Just got back from a lovely breakfast and the girls are watching a film and hubby is in the shower so thought I would have a look...

Well Pat Brown put that very well... I am pleased they did not use Pat to head up their PR campaing (although I am sure blood money would not buy everyone)...

God knows where they got their advice from but witht he way we are all being beaten down with threats every time we say something like NEGLECT IS WRONG and even the Pros were intimidated and threatend to post and create rainbow hell maybe the people who could have saved them cant tell them what they should be doing as they wont listen...

When the truth comes out they have only themselves to blame for being so bloody strange about all of this..

Madeline was a beautiful 3 year old child they were supposed to love and protect her and just could not be bothered.

Gerry's Blogs no doubt will be used against him one day..

I wont be celebrating when the truth catches up with them as Madeleine will still be gone and the Twins will hit another trauma in their lives. I hope it will however prove to every person that no one is above the law and NEGLECT is wrong...

God will be their final judge and he cant be bought with 30 pieces of silver...

have a good day all see you later xxx

Hi Viv,

Thank you for Pat Brown’s open letter to KM. Brown sets out logically and crisply why most of us know the McCanns are involved in their daughter’s disappearance. After all this time we still need to be reminded of the Mcs odd behaviour to refresh in our minds the enormity of what they did and the calculating way they twist and turn to cover their tracks.

I often think when a case is brought to court every one turns up booted and suited and well scrubbed. Bewigged barristers argue the case for the prosecution and defence and it is all very civilised. This often belies the sordid and sometimes horrific events that led up to and were performed during the crime. I think Pat Brown’s letter teases out the anomalies to remind us of the sordidness of this case and the blatant cover up.

The 'big gun'. Love to Poops :-)

From The Times December 30, 2005
By Karen McVeigh

HER detective work is unsurpassed, her dedication to duty during some of Britain’s most challenging murder cases unfailing.

Keela, a 16-month-old springer spaniel, has become such an asset to South Yorkshire Police that she now earns more than the chief constable.

Her sense of smell, so keen that she can sniff traces of blood on weapons that have been scrubbed after attacks, has her so much in demand by forces up and down the country that she is hired out at £530 a day, plus expenses.

Thought to be the only one of her kind, the crime scenes dog earns nearly £200,000 a year. Her daily rate, ten times that of ordinary police dogs, puts her on more than the chief constable, Meredydd Hughes, who picks up £129,963.

Keela’s considerable talent in uncovering minute pieces of evidence that can later be confirmed by forensic tests has put her in the forefront of detective work across Britain. She was drafted in to help after the stabbing of the young mother, Abigail Witchalls, in Surrey, and has been involved in high- profile cases across 17 forces, from Devon and Cornwall to Strathclyde.

She has already helped to apprehend a murderer after sniffing out blood on a knife.

PC John Ellis, her handler, said that police sent for Keela when the scenes of crime squad failed to find what they were looking for. “She can detect minute quantities of blood that cannot be seen with the human eye,” he said. “She is used at scenes where someone has tried to clean it up. If blood has seeped into the tiles behind a bath where a body has been, she can find it.”

The spaniel can sniff out blood in clothes after they have been washed repeatedly in biological washing powder, and can detect microscopic amounts on weapons that have been scrubbed and washed.

When faced with a “clean” crime scene, Mr Ellis and PC Martin Grimes, Keela’s other handler, will first send in Frankie, a border collie, and Eddie, another springer spaniel, to pick up any general scent. Then they wheel in the big gun.

“We take Keela in and she will find the minutest traces of blood,” Mr Ellis said. “It’s not like looking for a needle in a haystack any more. The other two dogs will find the haystack and Keela will find the needle.”

While the other dogs bark, Keela has been trained to freeze and pinpoint the area with her nose.

Mr Ellis said Keela’s “perfect temperament” and enthusiasm made her a great asset. “We thought we would get one or two deployments a year, but things have just snowballed. Obviously when we are called in by other forces they are charged a fee and it’s quite funny to think she can earn more than the chief constable.”

Mr Hughes showed there were no hard feelings. The chief constable said: “Keela’s training gives the force an edge when it comes to forensic investigation which we should recognise and use more often.” Mr Ellis and Mr Grimes came up with a special training regime to focus on Keela’s remarkable skills. It has proved so successful that the FBI has inquired about it. “The FBI is very interested in how we work because they don’t have this sort of facility in-house and they are looking at setting up their own unit,” Mr Ellis said.

Paul Ruffell, of K9 Solutions, a security firm specialising in dog units, said he was amazed at Keela’s abilities. “I’ve been working in this business for 25 years and I’ve never heard anything like it,” he said.

Hi all , just off out too but really it all falls down to a very simple human trait and that is the vast majority of human beings want us to take responsibility for our actions and this is amplified whenever children are involved. Thus when society believes people in life whether high profile or otherwise are not taking responsibility for their actions it repels against she/he or them.

When the death of a young child is added into that mix then that repellent gut instinct can be extremely strong. Hence prison inmates responsible for say sex crimes against children are marked men or women.

I make a point of not hating people and instead prefer to view and dislike the actions humans do.

By the way anyone know whether the PJ did film those interviews?

Hi Doc

Viv -

Pat Brown says just what most right thinking people feel needs saying to Kate and Gerry - ever since darling Madeleine disappeared they have made it pretty clear to everyone that they don't consider they did anything wrong and that eating in a tapas bar the other side of the complex that fateful night, and other nights the children were left alone, was not child neglect and is what many other parents do. Well to my mind their feelings are not of paramount importance, but the right of a child to justice is!

nancy said...

Hi BT -

I have no idea if photos of the PJ's interviews with the McCanns were filmed, although they were obviously recorded. If they had been filmed, I think they would have been on computer websites by now.

The fact that they refused a lie detector test just made even those who were not doubting them change their minds. If they were completely innocent they would have not given a second thought to taking one. The McCanns and their tapas pals should all have taken one in my opinion if they wanted to be put in the clear.

nancy said...

Docmac -

Fascinating story of Keela - very convenient for the pros not to want to believe how clever she is. If she wasn't able to detect the slightest instance of blood why do the police and others who work with these amazing animals, have so much faith in her.

Something very wrong in this case - it stinks to high heaven!

Clawdia hun,

Why have you not told all your pj fans about Amarals' wife filing charges against him for domestic violence?

I am sure you will continue to be oh so proud of the ex disgraced pj inspector and wife beater/basher. It seems that when he did make time for his family, Amaral liked to use his wife as a punch bag.

You must be so proud to support a wife beater. Amaral was obviously not content with issuing his own form of justice at work, he did it at home too.

Hiya Doc

What an odd allegation for "Chinadoll" to come out with given we have just had an admission that the next day Kate McCann was covered in bruises, but she did them herself!

This is a serious allegation to make against Goncalo Amaral and she had better be able to back it up, otherwise I feel he will hunt down the maker of that statement!

I was particularly interested in how Pat picked up on that well rehearsed phrase "we feel guilty we were not there at the moment Madeleine was taken". I agree that is a bizarre phrase and clearly does not support an abduction, had they been there then there could not have been any abduction and taken is a very strange word to use! Almost like they are covering their tracks just in case her body is found!

There is no money from The States i.e. your request for Two Million for the film, and there is no money coming from OUR homes that WE paid for either! HI ALL

That is the problem for the Pros there is nothing they can say that will ever make the neglectful McCann's look like normal parents so CD who is very simply a Nasty Bitch lies time after time silly cow...

I have never heard of a woman who is beaten by her Husband write such a compellin letter in his defence.

This Man has probebly made her cross when he has worked over Christmas and put in all the extra hours he has on various cases (including Madeleines) but she knows he would not be the man she married if he did not do all he could for others.

I hope CD has a good lawyer because never mind GA taking her on for her lies I would Imagine Mrs Amaral is far more of a match than CD can ever imagine and will put the little bitch in her place. I bet Mrs Amaral has no reason to worry about apearing in court...

I have no reason to fear going to court either should any of my statements that the McCanns are discusting and evil parents for NEGLECTING their childre night after night to go to the bar as far as I am aware Slander Libal or defemation mean I will have had to have ruined their reputation.

Well they did that in front of the world the day they admited their children were home alone they could not be bothered to search and Kate refused to answer a question for Madeleine.

I have plenty of questions for them though...

Another interesting point about words that they used is this one

"She's gone, mum. She's gone." is allegedly the first words used by KH to her mother. Rather strange don't you think. Why use 'she' and why use 'gone'

Surely if you rang Madeleine's grandmother and your own mum you would say something like...'Mum, we can't find Madeleine, we've looked everywhere we can and we still can't find her...'

'She's gone, mum. She's gone.' implies a degree of certainty, coldness and detachment on the part of the speaker doesn't it?

I wonder three things
1) Did Susan Healy ask her daughter where she had looked and for how long?
2) Did Susan Healy ask, 'Where has she gone to?'
3) Was Susan Healy told the 'shuttergate' story and if so what are her thoughts now it has been practically discredited.

These pictures of Kate included in the piece I believe to be very interesting/illuminating. Having visited the National Portrait Gallery at the weekend I notice how eyes are very important. They sometimes tell their own story don't they.

Those words - "she's been taken", have stayed with me for a long time. As if they 'knew for certain' she was taken, and that no one could have known that early - not even the McCanns. What any normal mother would have said is something on these lines - "Mum, please sit down because I have some very unsettling news - Madeleine has gone missing and we can't find her. Everyone, including the PJ's and Portuguese locals, have been and are still looking for her and we are getting publicity pictures out in case anyone happens to see and recognise her. Of course, she may have run off by herself and will turn up or be found shortly, but we are going through hell not knowing what has happened to her, so please pray that she returns quickly - we are absolutely at our wits end!

A little different from the cold fish words that emanated from the McCann's mouths and their equally dispassionate pals!

1. has a grandiose sense of self-importance
2. is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love
3. believes that he or she is "special" and unique
4. requires excessive admiration
5. has a sense of entitlement
6. is interpersonally exploitative
7. lacks empathy
8. is often envious of others or believes others are envious of him or her
9. shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes
Kate writes just a day after Maddie had been abducted having been taken by the police for questioning:
“Nobody from the police introduced themselves. Nobody offered us a drink or food. All the police dressed informally and smoking. No sympathy was shown and far from inspiring.”
A particularly arrogant and haughty attitude in the circumstances. She is not demonstrating empathy for Madeleine she is demonstrating what a self-centred arrogant creature she is, already turning her nastiness on the Police, who any normal mother would be begging them to help her and being extra specially co-operative and polite, but not Kate McCann. A woman who has repeatedly demanded the public show HER sympathy!

So much for the typical behaviours of a Narcissist, now what can make people like that:
• Overindulgence and overvaluation by parents
• Valued by parents as a means to regulate their own self-esteem
• Excessive admiration that is never balanced with realistic feedback
• Unpredictable or unreliable caregiving from parents
• Severe emotional abuse in childhood
• Being praised for perceived exceptional looks or talents by adults
• "Excessive praise for good behaviors or excessive criticism for poor behaviors in childhood"
When these traits are compounded by a failure of the interpersonal environment and continue into adulthood they may intensify to the point where NPD is diagnosed.[ It has been suggested that NPD may be exacerbated by the onset of aging and the physical, mental, and occupational restrictions it imposes as can most personality traits.

"Tomorrow it will be 4 weeks since Madeleine was “taken”. Four weeks since we saw our special little girl.

We are not certain that we will ever see her again, but know that we have to keep up our hope and strength for the others, at least."

So that “taken” word that Pat picks up on was an early part of Kate’s repertoire. Who are “for the others”? To me this is almost an admission she is living a rotten lie. The woman who stated on TV the twins play let’s hunt the monster who took Maddie! She even filled their heads with horror to perpetuate this terrible lie..

Di said...

Hi Viv

As soon as I read your post I thought, who are the others?

The twins yes maybe, or is it the tapas?

Di said...

Viv

The taken word in my mind has always meant Maddie died and we were not there. Just my opinion.

Unknown said...

Hiya Di

I think that by saying we have to keep our hope and strength up for the others, means she and GErry have to keep putting on a good act of being hopeful and seeming strong in their resolve to recover Madeleine, the others means everyone!

In religious parlance which Kate had clearly adopted, "taken" means by the Lord: Death. Snatched or abducted would have been a better word to describe what she meant to impart, taken is far nearer to the truth. People who are seriously losing it often turn to religion, Kate was demanding the Priest contact her that same night and also wanted the one in PDL. Strange for someone who had lived at Rothley for 18 months but had never once bothered to go to church!

Unknown said...

Wallowing in it here, she hopes that Madeleine is not suffering anywhere near as much as she is! Given they insist Madeleine was abducted by paedophiles how could she compare her anguish to Madeleine's suffering, this is a true narcissist!

THURSDAY, JUNE 7: I can't bear this. I can't bear being without Madeleine. It's like torture, a slow, painful death. I hope her suffering, if she is suffering, is much less. Please God.

I noticed that there is a problem people are having with their "bins".
Although they have disappeared from the "Post Comments" window, they still exist on the main Page (outlined in green, or at least do so in the case of my own posts.

By the way guys the Rhys Jones trial was interesting today WHY? because just like KH a lot of no comments went flying around. An extremely high profile trial. We all remember comparing the 'human' responses of the parents in contrast to other parents at the time.

...Mr Flewitt asked him: "Where were you on the night of 22 August last year?"

The boy again replied: "No comment."

Mr Flewitt continued: "Who were you with on that night?"

The boy said for a third time: "No comment."

The trial judge, Mr Justice Irwin, then turned to the videolink and spoke to the boy directly, saying: "Everyone can see it's not easy to give evidence, but you have a duty to do it."

The boy told His Honour: "I'm not prepared to give evidence against a family member."

The judge later added: "You have a duty to answer the questions."

The boy said: "I'm just so nervous and scared. I don't want to give evidence against a family member."

Hiya BT

Well I have never heard of innocent people using the criminal's phrase to the police and the court, "no comment", it is to prevent them from incriminating themselves, not something innocent people need to worry about. This is itself demonstrates beyond any doubt Kate McCann is a wicked liar with plenty to hide. I recall the petulant phrase she uttered when it was pointed out her failure to answer questions would frustrate the search for Madeleine:

"if the investigation says so"

Petulant, arrogant, cold, emotionless liar who cares not a jot for her little girl but like a true narcissist loves herself!

Hiya Claudia how weird they have gone again lol!

It seems such a shame the hospital keep taking this man back and forth. I suppose his wish is to die at home and that is understandable but it so hard for everyone else in the process.

I am sure you can convince him to do what he needs to do to remain comfortable including taking his medication. His poor wife is so lucky to have your support because otherwise I just do not think she could cope with all of this, it must be so incredibly stressful for her and exhausting too!

Take care darling and I hope you can get a break for your caring duties xxxx

Hiya Di

It is interesting that Esther would choose to mention that in the early days she was happy to help Kate. The thing is, she is not helping her now, is she. I can hazard a guess why that, she needed to move onto other things that would not inflict personal damage on her own political aspirations and integrity.

JK Rowling, Richard Branson, Beckham, there are a lot of big names that do not wish to be associated with them now and the reason is obvious. They gave them the benefit of the doubt and accepted Madeleine had been abducted but no one likes being duped and taken for a mug! Decent people are not going to be seen to assist people like Kate and Gerry McCann. It is just family and this DG man, whose motives are questionable to say the least!

Speaking of family what happened to the very vocal comments of John and Philomena McCann and Susan Healy. They all know the truth beyond doubt!

There is a video with this story where two young police officers savagely kick and abuse two defenceless dogs in their yard. A neighbour set up a camera to capture the abuse and the court commented the case was unusual in that the only evidence against them was the video evidence, but take note Mark and any other McCann sycophants, these dogs are now rehomed with loving owners and these two " police officers" are looking at custody. Warning to others on this blog, if you look at the video, it made me cry, it is so utterly dreadful. I hope that if this gruesome twosome ever have children the SSD keep a very close eye on both of them because if they can treat defenceless dogs like this, they could certainly do it to their children.

Police officers kicked pet dogs

dog cruelty

Two police officers have been told they face possible jail sentences for causing suffering and "mental terror" to their two pet dogs.

Magistrates in Denbigh heard how Anja Mason, 29 and Craig Macleod, 34, who lived together in Prestatyn, now also face losing their jobs.

A neighbour filmed them hitting and kicking the pets and called the RSPCA.

Both admitted causing unnecessary suffering to a collie pup called Tess and Macleod to a rottweiler, Snoopy.

Both officers, who will be sentenced on 25 November, have been removed from frontline duties until the end of the case, a North Wales Police force spokesman.

The court was told a neighbour had been concerned about the ill-treatment of dogs at the property and had called the RSPCA on several occasions.

RSPCA video still
There were several incidents of deliberate ill-treatment and frightening of the dogs
Wendy Gibbs, chair of magistrates

However, when an RSPCA inspector found no evidence of cruelty, the neighbour bought camera equipment and positioned it overlooking the couple's yard.

Prosecuting, Glenn Murphy said: "To her credit this lady purchased a camera and she took many hours of video footage."

A DVD, about 15-20 minutes in length, was played to the court.

In one scene Mason was filmed hitting the pup's head and kicking her.

Later the dog was seen pulling washing from a line before Macleod emerged from the house and chased it to a corner of the yard. Out of shot of the camera the dog could then be heard yelping.

'Intentionally caused pain'

In other scenes, Macleod sprayed the dogs with water and Mason is seen chasing the puppy with what appears to be a stick.

The rottweiler can also be heard yelping as it is apparently abused by Macleod off camera.

The court heard how Macleod had been concerned that the rottweiler was "over-zealous" with his eight-year-old daughter when she visited and he had been advised by a dog handler to spray water as a deterrent.

Magistrates chairwoman Wendy Gibbs told the defendants: "There were several incidents of deliberate ill-treatment and frightening of the dogs."

She said the magistrates had found no mitigating factors.

She added: "You intentionally caused pain and suffering to both dogs and mental terror to both dogs."

"You risked injury to both dogs by kicking them."

She said all sentencing options would remain open, including custody.

Craig Macleod and Anja Mason
Magistrates found no mitigating factors for Craig Macleod and Anja Mason's actions

Both defendants had faced six charges relating to alleged offences between March and April 2008.

However the majority of the charges were withdrawn when no evidence was offered against them.

The court heard the DVD had been viewed by a vet who concluded "the actions were not those of a reasonably competent and humane carer".

Defending, Joanne Stephens said neither Mason nor Macleod had intended to cause the animals pain.

The court heard both dogs were signed over to the RSPCA by their owners and are now doing well.

Miss Stephens said: "The defendants stand to lose their jobs as a result of having a criminal conviction which would affect their livelihoods."

Speaking after the case, RSPCA spokesman Gethin Russell-Jones said it was one of the most unusual cases he had been involved in because it hinged on the DVD evidence.

"There was no other evidence, and this neighbour had constructed this camera and concealed it and over the course of about a month...had captured these scenes," he said.

"Yes, that was crucial, and I'm sure as far as the court was concerned it was fairly striking evidence."

Asked about the fact the defendants are police officers, he said: "We prosecute without discrimination, and always fairly, so their occupation is irrelevant as far as we're concerned.

"If we find that animals have been treated unfairly, cruelly, or there's been unnecessary suffering, then the whole weight of the law comes down on them. The magistrate did say that, and it was a very harsh summing up."

HAVE YOUR SICK BAG AT THE READY.

Saw this on 3 A's posted by Foxlady.

KATE AND GERRY McCANN
BY IAN BELL
OF ALL the questions asked of Kate and Gerry McCann, official and unofficial, wise or wantonly cruel, since the disappearance of their four-year-old daughter, one is never likely to be answered.

It is not one of the obvious questions. It features in none of the many inquiries, spurious or otherwise, made by journalism and the law. It has nothing to do with the how, what, when or why. It is more baffling even than these mysteries.

Better for an atheist to ask, perhaps, than anyone: how have this plainly devout couple managed to retain their faith?

advertisement
If God was around when Madeleine was taken, most would question his motives. If a Christian spirit animated any of the hundreds of media who reported and commented upon the case, how was it manifested?

And where was charity - and the rest of that stuff - when the pious freaks were flooding the message boards with their dark conspiracies, their moral certainties and their vile fantasies?

To go on believing in a God of love in such circumstances, to pass through a Christian Christmas without a daughter, burdened by the loss, afflicted by a knowledge of what is bestial within humanity, is actually baffling. Does a believer then say that this is, of course, the point? Perhaps.

The fact remains that there is only one fact: the child is missing still. Portuguese investigators have come and gone. Newspaper theories have appeared, disappeared and reappeared half a dozen times.

DNA "evidence" has turned out to be flimsy or worthless. The McCanns have neither "cracked" nor confessed. "Suspects" have not yielded to suspicion. Endless re-examinations of the circumstances in which Madeleine was taken have failed to illuminate a dark night. No progress has been made. None.

Still there are those who will tell you that Kate McCann is no sort of mother, that there is something "not right" about Gerry McCann's stoicism. The need to believe that the child will be found was long ago replaced, in some parts of God's creation, by the need to believe the worst of her parents.

To repeat, as the friends of the McCanns go on repeating: there is no evidence for any accusation. That means, can only mean, that there is no right to draw a conclusion or to judge. For the nastier obsessives, fingering their keyboards, that sort of logic is no deterrent whatever.

A paradox is created. Now we talk about the fact that some people go on talking when there is nothing to talk about. Why does the McCann case still return to the headlines? Other children, many children, are lost daily. Other parents have their faith and their identity tested.

Somehow, the McCanns represent the perfect moral storm. If you trust what you believe, some people will never believe them, even if the truth is beyond doubt or question. It will always be the couple's fault for failing to attain absolute perfection in parental behaviour.

And does anyone think they don't already know that?

Still they pray, still they believe. Even to wonder what they ask of their God feels like voyeurism. The sense is unpleasant, but not half as unpleasant as those who "know" guilt by instinct, and grasp the truth without a need for facts. Other terrible tales are digested and forgotten within the space of hours. Not this one.

Blame the media? If you like. Blame the McCanns for attempting to use the media to find their daughter? If you must. Blame common malevolence, witless sentiment, sick thoughts in a sick world? Why not?

Christmas come and gone with a four-year-old still missing is hard to imagine. God too.

The world in which all of this happens does not need to be imagined.

By ST.

How hypocritical can you get, ST? You and your gang have threatened people for months with your silly 'libel, libel, libel' rants. Yesterday, stupid Poops was suggesting that it was libellous to say that one believes Madeleine is dead. That silly woman doesn't know that a vast majority of the pros who believe Madeleine was abducted believe she has been dead for a very long time. Madeleine has been missing for 17 months and Eddie has detected 'death scent' in the apartment where she went missing from and where no one else died. Have you all lost your sense of ridicule? Your blog has the only mission to try and stop freedom of speech. Have you forgotten the posts you allowed about the letters arriving at any minute (for more than a year), ST? You should be forbidden from saying 'freedom of speech'. You have been one of the greatest opposers of freedom of speech. If it was up to you, you would stop people from mentioning the McCann surname unless it was to sanctify it. Up until now, I just thought you were kind of sick and a bit of a megalomaniac. Now, I just think that you are pathetic. Freedom of speech? Only when it suits you.

Hi Zodiac,

I read with interest you post from Ian Bell. What always amazes me with Mr Bell and others like him is their one-sided arguments. For Mr Bell to base his argument on there being no evidence to accuse the McCann is strange because the flip sign of the coin is there is absolutely no evidence to support an abduction. Yet Madeleine is missing and presumed dead and apparently the evidence is not strong enough to be certain of a conviction in court.

Bell brings into his argument God and how the Mcs faith is still strong despite what happened to their daughter. The naivety of this argument is crass, God appears to have supported the Mcs and let them cover their tracks but then God works in mysterious ways so perhaps with the passing of time we will then see the full outcome. At this point in time K or G faith should be stronger as their prayers have surely been answered simply because they are not incarcerated in a Portuguese prison!

Ian Bell's eulogy -

"still they pray; still they believe;" strange then, that according to Kate's mother they'd never been religious and didn't even attend their local church until after Madeleine went missing.

Meeting the Pope must have changed their minds, or was it to be seen as churchgoers to impress the public and the media?

What a load of tosh!!

Tony Bennett and freedom of expression
Due to a specific complaint over some of the posts regarding Tony Bennett's activities I have decided to hide these posts until I receive further clarification of what is libellous and what is not. Personally I believe that the posts were not libellous but people's opinions based on facts.
When I receive clarification about this I will either remove them permanently of put them back up again for viewing. Apologies to all my posters, I hope everything will be resolved soon and the posts will be back up as soon as possible. People should always be allowed their freedom of expression and the right to have an opinion.

ST, take no notice of Bennett.

None at all.

He is all piss and wind. He regularly threatens forums and blogs for saying things about him which he feels free to say about others. He is a total prat. Half of his 'book' is factually incorrect, because he has insisted on treating Amarals' joke of a book as if it were the Truth. He hasn't even noticed the differences between that book and the PJ files, which are very clear and obvious to anyone who has studied them both.

As I say, don't worry about him for five minutes. Look at his Wiki entry and follow the link to the Democracy forum. He did the same thing to them, but never followed up. He is still on there, whining, they are still telling him to get stuffed:-)

What people say about him is true, but he tries to use the law to silence and cow them.

Radio host James Whale is sacked
James Whale (pic: Talksport)
James Whale had been with Talksport since it launched as Talk Radio in 1995

Radio host James Whale has been fired by Talksport after urging listeners to vote for Conservative candidate Boris Johnson in London's mayoral elections.

The comments were made on 20 March during his late-night programme.

A Talksport spokesman said: "James Whale's contract with the station has been terminated after a breach of the Ofcom Broadcasting Code."

Under Ofcom rules, presenters are banned from showing any bias towards a political party before an election.

James Whale is guilty of a gross error of judgement, which we found to be totally unacceptable
Talksport

The Talksport spokesman described the matter as "very unfortunate".

"We have investigated the matter and after serious consideration, the station reached the decision that there was a clear breach of the rules and that we had no choice but to terminate his contract," he said.

"James Whale is guilty of a gross error of judgement, which we found to be totally unacceptable.

"Talksport has acknowledged the seriousness of the complaints received, does not excuse the content of the broadcast and has told Ofcom that it has taken steps to prevent this happening again."

He's saddened at the way this has happened and it's come as a huge shock
James Whale's agent Stuart Hobday

The matter was being investigated by Ofcom, he added.

The presenter's agent Stuart Hobday said Whale was "deeply disappointed".

"He's spent 13 happy years at Talksport," he said. "He's saddened at the way this has happened and it's come as a huge shock."

Ofcom have confirmed they are investigating the case.

A statement said: "Ofcom is currently investigating three complaints about comments made by James Whale during his show on Talksport.

"All UK broadcasters must adhere to the Ofcom's Broadcasting Code which sets standards for the content of television and radio broadcasting.

"In particular, broadcasters must ensure due impartiality is preserved on matters of major political or industrial controversy and major matters relating to current public policy."

Whale, 56, started his career at Metro Radio in Newcastle in 1974 and had his own late-night show on ITV in the early '90s, The James Whale Radio Show.

He had been with Talksport since it launched in 1995 as Talk Radio.

He considered standing for London mayor in 2006.

cowardly custard bennett can't cut the mustard said...

I was the author of those posts, I am remaining anonymous because I fully intend to expose a few home truths about Tony Bennett. If he doesn't like it, he can lump it, or stop attacking the McCanns, in which case I will stop attacking him!

I am from his past, but will feature in his future.

If the furore around Madeleine had settled down, he would not be able to use her as a means to get his fix of publicity. He would not be interested in her, he would 'probably' have found another case to leach upon.

He attacks the McCanns for their fund, but does not like to be attacked for his own and asked about where all the profits of this book will go.

If he is going to ask the McCanns to publish their accounts, then he must publish his own, or he is guilty of hypocrisy.

I believe this man sees himself as some kind of vigilante? I see him as tap dancing saveloy.

I challenge Mr Bennett to prove he is not just a coward who can give it out, but is unable to take his own medicine.

Bennett enjoys what he terms as "Free Speech" yet he cries when the tables are turned on him.
