MARTIN SMITH ASKED "IS SHE ASLEEP" ??

Hi all,

As further reports emerge concerning the Irish witness Martin Smith and his family who saw a man matching Gerry McCann on 3 May I thought it would be helpful to post this very interesting article I found posted by Paulo Reis from Sol on 5 August, last year.

As you will know, it has always been my belief that Gerry McCann carried Madeleine off that night and realising he had been spotted got Jane Tanner to make up the sighting where she gave a description matching Gerry, initially saying he was Northern European and had short dark hair but then when Gran Cooper came up with her e-fit stating, well actually, yes he was just like that..he has morphed into the distinctly swarthy man with long hair and frightening teeth. I have read that thanks to Gran Cooper the PJ were forced to investigate this and wasted a huge amount of time and resources upon it. It really is heartbreaking that the McCanns and their team have quite deliberately given them so much wasted work which was clearly never going to find Madeleine.

When reading through this however what really upset me is the thought of just why would Jane Tanner state that the man was carrying the child in what she confessed on Panorama was a very odd way limply in open arms across the body..this is how you would carry a dead child, because if you held the child up against your body in the normal way the head would flop down. As will be seen in this report Martin Smith even said to this man, is she asleep, but the man put his head down and ignored him. Hardly friendly holiday behaviour!

Also, I had not previously realised that the GNR had deployed their own dog for several hours in the McCann apartment just before the arrival of the British dogs and this dog also marked Madeleine's death in that apartment and the British dogs confirmed this. Not long back I reported that this dog had passed out as a fully trained dog (I am assuming it is the same one judging by the description of it). We now have it confirmed that death was marked in the McCanns bedroom, behind the sofa in the living room and in the flower bed. As will be seen here, back in August 2007 it was realised the body had been moved in the apartment. I suppose the question is where did she die? It would seem to me to be in the McCann's bedroom and then perhaps moved to just behind the sofa near the patio door for removal. Gerry has even remarked how quiet it was normally and he you would not expect to bump into anyone, but unfortunately for him he bumped into Wilkins and I believe he also bumped into Martin Smith and his family. The fact that there are other members of Mr Smith's family who have given evidence will corroborate his evidence and make it much more powerful. If Madeleine was carried openly like this by Gerry then it would seem she did not have serious and visible injuries which again would seem to point to over-sedation. I recall there were early reports of a syringe being found in the McCann's bedroom but do not know whether that is accurate. When taken with the fact that two nights before Madeleine was reported crying by Mrs Fenn and her young visitor and the night before Kate even admits Madeleine and Sean were crying, the fact that they went and left them again can only lead to one conclusion IMO. They made sure none of the children would interrupt their fun again, fatally for Madeleine. It is simply heartbreaking and I am appalled at what a wicked liar Jane Tanner is, she can sue me if she wants, it will not stop me saying it!!

This report also confirms the factual basis for the claims made by Portuguese detectives that little Madeleine was dumped at sea. Such wickedness is very hard to comprehend. That little Madeleine could not even have a decent burial, she was just dumped. Truly terrible. For Leicester Police to go and interview Martin Smith and family and for them to then fly out to Portugal it says it all really as to how seriously they viewed his evidence and he has no reason to lie about such a serious matter. They have his evidence and I feel this talk of the PJ failing to re-interview him as though it was somehow fatal to their investigation is just pure propaganda!

The investigations have returned to their initial course.
Portuguese and British police search for the body of the child in the surroundings of Praia da Luz.
By Felícia Cabrita (felícia.cabrita@sol.pt) and Margarida Davim (magarida.davim@sol.pt)Weekly "Sol" (Original version, in Portuguese)Translated by: Mark
“There are strong signs” that Madeleine, the English child that disappeared from Praia da Luz almost one hundred days ago, “is dead”, police sources have told Sol. The 180º turnaround that the investigation by the Policia Judiciaria (PJ) from Portimao seems to have done in the past few days, even led the Attorney General, Pinto Monteiro, to postpone the making of an interview that had been requested by British media chain BBC – an interview that would be focusing on the fact that, so long after Maddie’s disappearance, the authorities still remain without real clues concerning her whereabouts.Although an official source from the PGR justified the postponing of the interview with “agenda issues”, the moves by the PJ and some elements from the British police during these last days – accompanied by two dogs, in Praia da Luz – seem to indicate that the investigation is now centred on the McCann family and their group of friends. Sol could find out that the English dogs are trained for different tasks. One, to detect human remains originating from dead flesh, and the other one to detect human blood or fluids. A specialist that was contacted by Sol explains that the technique of these animals rests on scientific bases, and that while “one of the dogs can distinguish between natural death or death by accident that does not involve bloodshed, the other one can diagnose whether someone died a violent death, with bloodshed or other spilled fluids”.Tuesday night, a black and white cocker spaniel that is trained to detect death, spent several hours in the apartment that the McCann family occupied in the Ocean Club resort, and from where Maddie disappeared on May 3. According to sources within the investigation, the dog marked the death of the child inside the apartment. On the dogs’ trailThe English dogs do not contradict the clues that were detected by the sniffer dog that GNR sent to the location, on the day following the English girl’s disappearance. It’s an animal that only follows odours, and that “detected the movement of the child from the room to another point inside the apartment”, according to a source with the Guarda. The same source said that “based on that signal, it was not possible to conclude whether the child was alive or dead – because a sniffer dog will smell both the living and the dead”. Yet, outside the house, both through the windows that faced the Tapas restaurant – where the McCanns had dinner with their seven friends – and through the main door, “the dog lost the trail, as if the child had exited, for example, rolled up in a blanket”, that source said. A team from Sol, on the terrain for the last two weeks, could observe the work of the cocker spaniel from the British police, performing several diligences along the water in Praia da Luz and in a nearby valley. The animal’s path, on Wednesday night, seemed to test the deposition from several witnesses that were heard by the PJ in late May – namely an Irish family that have been living in Luz, and who, on the day that Maddie vanished, reportedly crossed ways with a man that carried a child that seemed to be asleep. According to their deposition to PJ, Martin Smith, his wife and his children, after leaving the Kelly bar, which is located approximately 400 metres from the Ocean Club, around 9.50 / 10.00 pm, saw an individual described as Caucasian, measuring 1.70 – 1.75 m, walking towards the beach. The Irish man told Sol that he knew Robert Murat (the only arguido in the process) visually for years – and also remembered seeing the Anglo-Portuguese man in a bar that evening, “already a bit intoxicated”. Therefore, the Irish dismissed the possibility that the person he saw carrying a child could be Murat: “If it was him, I guarantee to you that I would have recognized him”.Concerning the clothes the man he saw on that night was wearing, Smith only refers the “beige trousers”, given the fact that his upper body was hidden by the child’s body, which was not covered. It is curious that one of the elements that formed the group of Maddie’s parents’ friends, guaranteed to PJ several days before Smith was heard, that - at a moment when she left the table to check on the group’s children - she had crossed ways with a man that was wearing trousers that fit the description that was also made by the Irish man. That individual was also carrying a sleeping child. And the witness, who even managed to see what pyjamas the child was wearing, just “thought it was strange that the child was barefoot and uncovered”. This witness said it would be 9.15 pm.Direct access to the PMAccording to the course the PJ from Portimao is now conducting the investigation, and considering the trail that the British police’s cocker spaniel tracked along the sea shore, the individual would have descended to Praia da Luz, where he could have disposed of Maddie’s body. Sol knows that the English team contacted João Alveirinho Dias, a professor at the University of Algarve and a specialist in oceanography, in order to collect information about the sea’s dynamics and the beach area where everything may have happened. The investigator, who was not briefed about the context of the police inquiries, told “Sol" that he was consulted on “the sand movements, where they come from and where they go to”. The police investigation has therefore, and according to our sources, returned to its initial course, and it becomes increasingly clear, as Sol had reported previously, that there is no proof against Murat.Yet, the British media continue to point a finger at the Anglo-Portuguese man, although the criminal investigation has returned to clues that relate to the group of friends of Madeleine’s parents. A journalist with the Daily Express – who has repeatedly contacted Sol searching for new information on this case – recognized this week that it is “difficult for an English newspaper to adopt a critical tone concerning Madeleine’s parents”. The Daily Express cited, in one of its last reports, the news that have been published by Sol, describing them as a “hate campaign” against the McCanns. The same journalist ended up confessing that “it’s the only way we can transmit your data”. Sol knows that Gerry McCann has regular contact with Gordon Brown, the British Prime Minister. Clarence Mitchell – who was the first spokesman for the McCanns and is now in the press cabinet at Nº 10, Downing Street – confirms those contacts. “I know there is a communication line between Gerry and Gordon Brown. I know they talk. But I don’t know what they talk about, because those are informal conversations”, he clarified, further adding: “The Madeleine case is treated whenever there are bilateral meetings between Portugal and the United Kingdom. Gordon Brown is sensitive to the case and wants it solved quickly”.Translated by: Mark 04.08.2007

Good morning, all.
Have the very competent private detectives hired by the McCanns found Madeleine while I was sleeping? 5 days and counting.

For those who missed it before...

To Madeleine - I promise you that there are adults in this life who do not hide behind words and hide behind money. They are open, full of integrity and pure in heart. I promise you there are many like that who need no mask to embrace and appreciate the gift of life.

I have a dream one day that all parents black or white, rich or poor will one day wake up and understand that a child is for life and that all parents will be open to allow and embrace a sense of freedom and joy within the purity of a 3yr old's soul. I have a dream that controlling parents will one day be no more...

For the sake of all those little children like you who have parents who leave them alone and lonely in order to massage their own needs rather than nurture the soul of their own flesh and blood, I have a dream.

WE SHALL OVERCOME

Hiya all

Kate has an Aunt in Vancouver, Norah Paul. See my 30 December post (which got just two replies including my own..early days!) She said Kate went and stayed with her for 6 months some years back. She also said in December she was with them in Portgual when Madeleine got taken and would come and see them again in May. She also said in December the Portuguese Police were no longer investigating them! Funny how Rosie and Co have gone so quiet just lately!

Viv like you I am absolutely sick of cleaning up after them. Sorry all male posters, but what is it with men! why can't they aim at the toilet instead of up the walls and on the floor!! Rant over.

Have not read back today, but just saw Viv's post that the McCanns have been to Vancouver for 3 weeks. What a pity they could not be bothered to go back to Portugal and tie up some loose ends!!

Anonymous said...

'Doctors Kate and Gerry said they spent three weeks in Canada with twins Sean and Amelie for the sake of the three-year-olds.'

Pity they did not spend the evenings on their last holiday with their 3 children aged 3 and under, or provide them with adult supervison. If they had the World would not even know this unpleasant pair and their eldest child would perhaps still be a part of their family. IMO.

Hi Atardi

Yes, you can put articles on here in Dutch and either me or someone can use google translate facility to post them in English.

Docmac accurately summed the situation up a few days ago, and Mum 21 appears to be the only person posting on "supertroll" and still does not know what she is talkiing about, unless it is spouting racism or how to neglect children and excuse the parents. How ignorant to suggest the McCanns could implement anything at all in the European Parliament, what authority do they have to do that? Would anyone vote to elect them!!!!:
Mum21

"Everyone knows the McCann's instigated putting in place an Amber Alert type system in Europe."

Rubbish. The 116 numbers were mooted in 2005 and the recommendations were ratified in 2006. Gerry runs around shouting about AMBER Alert because he hopes it will look good in front on a judge. He had nothing to do with it. He attempted to hijack the process and failed miserably.

Have you read the last paragraph from the link “ Spirit sense……..”

Before I take my leave of Julianna, I ask her if she has any insight about what happened to missing British girl Madeleine McCann.
"I've been asked that question before. But I've never answered it," she says. This time she does.
"I honestly believe that she was dead within three hours. She never left that area at all. Do I think it was an intruder? No," Suranyi says quietly.

Oh FFS!

The pinkos have found a reference going back to 1972 of 7 year old Steven Stayner who was kidnapped by a MALE, then escaped 7 years later and subsequently died in a motorcycle accident.

His younger brother then became a serial killer 27 YEARS later, killing 4 WOMEN.

Aha! A connection! Even Rosie suddenly 'remembers' reading the book. Amazing! WTF is this crap? The Rolling Stones once recorded a really shite song called 'Emotional Rescue'. This is 'Emotional Blackmail'. Absolute claptrap.

BTW, Rosie asks Calcite: "What is the Calgary stampede?" lolol!! Never heard of Google or Wikipedia love? Fuck it, these 'glory grannies' make me want to vomit!

Hello Everyone,

I hope everyone's well?

I've been posting on the 3As for a bit (it's not so scary once you know how it all works) because there's been a bit of a to-do with some nasty right wing posters recently and I thought I needed to add my voice to the liberals. (Once a Brownie...)

Di, sorry you don't seem to have had a good experience there; I can only think this is because one particularly nasty piece of work - a guy called Tony Bennett, who tried to bring a private prosecution against the McCanns for negligence a couple of months ago - seems to have ushered his friends to come and support him in spreading his right-wing agenda. (Not that he posts on the 3As himself - he's been using a 'messenger', one of the Admin people, who's actually now been stripped of his admin duties. Oh, how exciting it's all been!).

Anyway, a lot of new people have suddenly appeared, many of whom seem to back TB up, so all I can think is that you've been mistaken for one of them; one of TB's foot soldiers.

New members really are welcomed there. There's a thread to introduce yourself, and there's also a bar, where you can indulge in general chit-chat with whoever's around, so perhaps this is a good way to get established??

How is everyone?

I don't understand how spending three weeks with Kate's mother's sister (I presume this is the relationship) on a massive flight to Vancouver was for the twins, but hey are the McCanns the best to judge that?

I think it is interesting that Kate went all that way and Gerry followed her there, so next she took of to New Zealand, pity she finally capitulated!

Hiya Claudia

But what new detectives, Hogan International? They were always reported to be the British arm of the investigation and also sued Express Newspapers for libel!

I think they were always the British arm of intefering with witnesses/trying to dredge up some who may have seen a creepy man walking in the rain. I have walked in the rain, many times, does this mean I am creepy, I have also collected for charity, again, does this mean I am creepy, these people just pursue a bizarre witch hunt, trying to introduce that element of doubt, but there was no jemmied window and no damaged shutters and no fingerprints on those shutters, other than Kate McCanns. What can we deduce from that!

If you were private investigators instructed by Kate and Gerry McCann would you want your name withheld from the public, too right you would!

Unknown said...

Hiya Claudia

Well if there was any evidence of an abduction for them to follow up they would be only too pleased to announce they are now dealing with this important investigation, which, as you say, is quite beyond, Portuguese and British Police, Serious Organised Crime Agency and of course Interpol who have investigated every single sighting of Madeleine!

They would have us believe these leads were so important they just passed them on to the police and never kept a record of them and ahem only asked for those leads back 14 months later, truly leaving no stone unturned!

What a bunch of ludicrous and silly liars!

Well Nanday is extremely affectionate and loving, I guess that is the way we brought him up:-))

I did have a fantastic assistant with my shopping, my eldest son Martin, but when it comes to clothing and shoes etc, manage very nicely without him!

I am going to stay with Wendy soon by the way I am sure you both remember me mentioning her x

I have heard that tobacco is now banned in Amsterdam, much the same as the rest of Europe in public places but the smoking of pure weed is not! Bizarre!

Claudia,

I'm very glad Sara is doing well and is better.

Not off to bed just yet. Kids are still up and playing noisy guitar hero stuff in the living room. No sleep for me until they stop! My fault - I bought it for them! :(

Kids seem to have given in to sleep now so i'm off to bed too.

Just one observation from the dark side - they appear to love the word "thick". Well, it takes one to know one doesn't it??

Nite all, sleep well xx

In fact he buys plug in air fresheners due to my smoking:-))

Nope, sorry Thelma and Louise.

I don't do Wiki or Google when it comes to urgent matters like life or death. There is no time for that shit. I need reliable information, like that which has stuck in my brain over the last 30 years. There's no time to fuck about on the internet.

If you want to join us in Boston in October and put forward your motivation for the use of 'Wikinfo' I could arrange it (possibly). You can join your mate who is an 'expert' on low birth weight. I may even be able to organise sponsorship for your trip if you submit the relevant research papers in time.

Can't wait to meet you.

Oh yes, bring Mark with you. I'd LOVE to meet him!!

Nothing to do with Madeleine but an example of a xenophopic headline and story in the Mail.

"British motorists face £100 fine for failing to wear fluorescent vests when driving in France".

Of course it doesn't apply to motorists of any other nationality?

marga said...

Someone has sent me this link to sth most of you have probably watched on Br TV. Nevertheless, I find it so touching, not only because of the little girl's performance but also for her appearance that reminds me of Maddie and how she could look at this girl's age.
I for one would like her to be alive. The lyrics

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Gn5L5U92_54

Lyrics:

Somewhere, over the rainbow, way up high.
There's a land that I heard of Once in a lullaby.
Somewhere, over the rainbow, skies are blue.
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true.
Someday I'll wish upon a star and wake up where the clouds are far Behind me.
Where troubles melt like lemon drops, Away above the chimney tops.
That's where you'll find me.
Somewhere, over the rainbow, bluebirds fly. Birds fly over the rainbow,
Why then - oh, why can't I?
If happy little bluebirds fly beyond the rainbow,
Why, oh, why can't I?

Makes you cry, doesn't it?

Common EU hotline number for missing children on arrival Date news: 20-12-2006
Natural range of this message
Source: European Union

European Union IP/06/1866 Brussels, 20 december 2006 The common EU hotline number for missing children is coming Today, a committee of representatives of Member States to a special meeting convened by the Committee on the initiative of the Commission endorsed in the EU common free telephone numbers to be set aside for services with a social value. This means in particular that the number 116000 will be available for hotlines for missing children. The state will be asked this important initiative for the rights of the child as soon as possible. "A number of missing children can be declared late, showing that the EU is the rights of the child as a priority," said Viviane Reding, a member of the European Commission responsible for Information Society and Media. "I ask all EU member states therefore actively to promote the implementation of the'116 initiative." The safety of our children should not be delayed ". The "116 initiative" of the Commission implies that a number can be reserved for the same service across Europe. Services provided through the toll-free 116 number to help citizens in difficulty or contribute to the welfare or safety of citizens. Hotline telephone numbers where parents can specify a missing child already exist in some EU countries but which currently numbers vary by country. A common hotline number, 116000, will greatly help parents when they lose their child on a trip or during a stay in another European country. The draft decision of the Commission to numbers beginning with 116 in reserve for harmonised services with a social value in Europe was today endorsed by the Commission. Approval by the committee paves the way for the Commission to the Member States for this binding decision in early 2007. On 11 december 2006, Commissioner Reding on the Telecommunications Council call on all ministers to take forward this proposal (see MEMO/06/476). Early next year a public appeal will be launched to ascertain what other services for a 116 number can be helpful.

I don't know what your posting problem is but offer a suggestion (if it is not something you do already).

I find it useful to have two web browsers as with my primary one it doesn't seem to like certain parts of the web I access (This blog included).

However I am able to use my secondary browser to access these sites.

Guys - it's the 14th tomorrow. Do you think that we will hear anything regarding the release of the files or is it set for the 14th August?

Such a poignant song. Quite beautiful though. This tribute to Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's version of it is very sad too. Sad because it demonstrates so much of what Maddie will never see. Sad too because this great Hawaiian singer also died so young. Sad yet again because this is my wife's very favourite song..

docmac said...

Hi Claudia

I'm just holding on a call, may have to go soon. I do know Toni Morrison won a Nobel. Other than that I know very little about her and have never read any of her literature. I'm pretty sure Mark may be able to help you out though.

Cláudia said...

Marga, personally I am glad the Algarve gets all the tourists (foreign and national). That way we get to keep these little pearls almost unknown. Tourism is an important income source but as I don't have friends or family in that area, let me be selfish this time. We all know what happens to places where tourism is the main income source: buildings, buidings and more buildings. And nature gets annihilated.

Cláudia said...

Doc, I have no doubts about it. ;-)
Toni Morrison is a great woman writer. As I'm sure you will remember, she wrote Beloved which was made into a film starring Oprah and which reminds people of the first slave narratives. It is based in a real story of a woman who murdered one of her children to prevent her offspring being returned to slavery. She is best known for Beloved but I don't think that was her best novel at all. The Bluest Eye is a great novel, for instance. One which depicts the tragedy racism can create in a child's life. Sula is probably my favourite but for personal reasons. Worth reading.

Cláudia said...

P.S: throughout all of her work, Toni Morrison discusses with special attention all kinds of violence towards children and the impact all types of violence have on a child's development and which many times end up in destruction.
See why I love her work?

docmac said...

Claudia, you are wasting your time mentioning that movie :-) I avoid anything that features or even mentions Oprah! Loathe the woman.

As you know I too am a writer. Don't think my books would make for great movies though :-))))

Cláudia said...

Doc, when the movie was made Oprah was nowhere near the star she is today. It was probably from the early nineties. 91, 92 or so.
Doc, I suppose not. ;-)

Cláudia said...

Atardi, he could do it as volunteer work. For the sake of missing children.

Cláudia said...

Atardi, Morrison and Maya Angelou have quite a bit in common and have had projects together. However, I find Morrison's work a lot better. But it's just my personal opinion, of course.

Cláudia said...

ICTOAN, PMSL!

atardi said...

Cláudia,

Volunteer work and CM?

Haven't read any book from Toni but maybe I'll try it during this holiday.

I became a fan of Maya because of the books I read from Buchi Emecheta.
Had to search for the title of the 1st book I read from Buchi Emecheta in English: "Second-Class Citizen".

Cláudia said...

I recognise the name Buchi Emecheta from my researches, but I haven't read anything from her. I focused on african american women writers. You won't regret reading Toni. If you like Maya Angelou, you'll like Morrison too. The main characters are almost always very strong, very brave women.

Yeah, you're right. Volunteer work and CM don't make sense at all.

atardi said...

ICTOAN,

I read it this way. You know about my English...............

If he is pondering can it mean that the job with the McCanns is done?

Cláudia had an article about him begging for more money for Kate and Gerry.

I remember smt about people who gave money and he said smt like: "but they don't have a open cheque book"?

To me it's another way to say "They don't support us anymore".

atardi said...

Cláudia,

I think you won't regret either to read "A Second-Class Citizen" a woman from Nigeria who immigrates to London.

ICantThinkOfAName said...

Atardi

I have always believed that Clarrie was being paid by the Double Glazing millionaire with a view to him working for the company when his work for the McCanns is finished.

It makes me wonder if his future as PR man for the company is not so definite or even that his present salary is in jeapody.

Cláudia said...

Atardi, I'm sure one day I will. In the near future all my reading will be for academic reasons. I'm only thinking of making an exception. Really, really soon. :-)

Hiya all

Enjoyed reading the blog tonight with a cultural and literary theme and really loved your beatiful pictures of where you have been swimming today Claudia. It is true what they say about tourist areas and something that often really disappoints me, it is a "holiday complex" and what you really want to see is old original buildings, trees, water, scenery and natural beauty, but all that disappears to cater for tourists.

Clarence is really into reputation management. He was supposed to have an ongoing job with the DG man but maybe this is a tacit way of saying he does not want to continue in that role because he is fed up of what has happened to his own reputation in the process. It cannot be a very pleasant thing to have to cope with public revulsion as he clearly does. The causes he wants to get involved with now would clearly enable the public to see him in a better light, doing some of it initially pro-bono would help to improve his image, but of course, this will not pay the bills for him. Unfortunately with the sort of work he wants to do, there is always the basis for corruption and manipulation purely to pay his "wages" every week. Is it really a legitimate profession to manipulate and manage media stories in this way?

I you are interested in women of African origin who have struggled and made good, read any of the true accounts of Mary Seacole.

She even wrote her own autobiography:

Wonderful Adventures of Mary Seacole in Many Lands".

She was a Jamaican Lady who having been refused service as a nurse in the Crimean War (I wonder why??) finance herself and actually was active close to the battlefields.

Financing her nursing by running a business: The British Hotel.

She achieved recognition after the war but then was forgotten until recently when her deeds have again been noted.

I believe CM is on £70K per annum currently. One way or another this case will slow down and there will not be enough work for him.

The Brian Kennedy job (same/similar salary) is, we are told, open to him but financially far more lucrative is to open his own PR company, which looks to be the way things are going.

CM’s age is against him; therefore, career opportunities like this will not present themselves very often. I think he will grab this window of opportunity with both hands. His own PR company will be launched early next year if not before imo.

ICTOAN, I'll read that headline later, thanks. All sounds very sad.

Claudia, I thought you were joking about the PhD. Not that I didn't think you capable, just that I hadn't heard you mention it before and I thought it was a poke at Mark. Anyway, well done you!I hope you enjoy it & it's a very emotional but fulfilling subject. If we are all still blogging here in three years' time, I can see we may both be moaning about the writing part! Ours are expected to be ~ 80,000 words and I expect it's the same anywhere in the world. My disseration is only 15,000 maximum but I'm going to have to chop bits out as graphs etc count as words for the space that they take up. I realised that I have 18 just in the results section which accounts for nearly 4000 words. Still, it's nice to chop bits out rather than have to ramble! :)

I'll look back in this evening as I'm sure we will have some sort of news today, albeit, spin!

Marga, you will have missed this as you had already left but if you are in Suffolk, let me know. I live in the next county & I could come and meet you - if you want!

Morning All

Blimey go away for a few days and CM is looking for a new job!

I cant believe anyone would want to employ him he is just not believeable IMHO.

When he held his Press Confrence to show egg man had a face he was bloody awful the worse presentation I have every seen in my life. If he had been pitching something there is no way on earth I would have bought it he looked nervous his speach did not flow well and he was despratly trying to fill time.

Give it up Clarrie write a book someone will buy it and it will make you a very rich man. If of course you want to live off blood money made from Madeleine that is.

If my child were to go missing he is the last man I would want to speak for me every time he opens his mouth G&K look more guilty.

Some of the rubbish about aceptable parenting is just shocking. All I can say is because of his spin I feel they have something to hide. When a child is missing no spin required they were bloody stupid to have left her it was very selfish parenting and they still dont want to blame themselves spin that any way you want to it still makes them terrible parents.

Missing children do not require spin drs missing children require the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth and once the police have all the information they will not waste time on false leads and may actually find the child.

Then again parents of missing children would sell everything they owned and wear rags for the rest of their lives if it ment their child was returned they would not be making money out of it.

Hi all,

As always - brilliant.

Dylan,

That could be a good marketing ploy for our Save the Pandelephant Fund. We could approach Duncan Donut and ask if for every doughnut sold he donate 1p to our Fund. Just think huge bill-boards all over the World with posters of an elephant eating a jam doughnut, that will certainly have everyone dashing to buy doughnuts. Clever or what. Lets put it this way, imo, there is more chance of seeing the jam doughnut eating elephant poster around the World than the posters of M...mm.....mm.......sorry forgot what I was typing, if you know what I mean.

Claudia,

I wont be surprised if a certain defective agency has got some lovely 2nd hand farden furniture. Probably sitting on it enjoying the Sun and squeezing a little soft toy for motivation.

Good Afternoon All, I've just been reading back and I can't see any reference to Joana Morais article posted yesterday. Apologies if you have already discussed this.

"Cadaver Odour in the McCanns Car and Clothes.
Maddie. Final report of the PJ says that Murat is arguido because of journalist suspicion.

In a total of ten vehicles, the cadaver dogs only signalled cadaver odour and blood scent in Kate and Gerry McCann car, rented 24 days after the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, on the 3rd of May of 2007, in Praia da Luz, Algarve.

This is one of the conclusions of the final report of the PJ on the investigation that has lasted for more than one year, handed to the Public Ministry and that waits now for a decision. The Republic’s Attorney General requested the end of this month as the deadline, so that the archiving or requests for new diligences are decided.

In the first approach done by the British laboratory, the Forensic Science Service and by the Portuguese Institute of Forensic medicine, it was registered a match of Madeleine's DNA profile with some of the collected evidences in the Renault car, rented by the couple.

In a second approach, done by both Institute of Forensic medicine and the English laboratory, the final results did not corroborate the canine markings in the places and Kate and Gerry McCann clothes.

As explained yesterday in an article published by Expresso, it was a due to the mere possibility of the involvement of the couple McCann with the eventual cadaver that the PJ, in September of 2007, appointed Kate and Gerry as arguidos.

But, what exactly did the cadaver dogs detect? Cadaver's odour in the room of the couple, in a corner, next to the closet, in the living room, behind the sofa, next to the side window of the apartment, in one of the flowerbeds outside the apartment, in two pieces of clothes belonging to Kate, in Madeleine's piece of clothing, in the child’s plush and in the key of the rented car.

Odour of blood was still detected in the same key of the rented car and inside the boot of the same.

For all of these reasons, the conclusion of this case will have to be one alone: archiving. THE PJ considers that, in spite of all diligences that were done and that all investigation lines were followed, it was not possible to understand what effectively went on that night.

The same report assumes that any diligence done now will not help the discovery of the truth, regretting the fact that the reconstitution of the night of the disappearance, was not carried out as requested by the PJ at the end of May. One year after Madeleine disappeared from Praia da Luz."

Where does this leave the case if true?

Hi Wizzard

I am not sure where this leaves the case?

I dont know if the two of them will ever be brought to justice or if the truth of that night will ever come to light.

What I do know is Guilt is one hell of an emotion to have to live with and they will get what they deserve in the end.

Even if all they did was neglect their children night after night they have to live forever with he knowledge that if they had been there she would not have been taken. They also have to live with the fact that they did not look for her or help the PJ in any way and this will come back to haunt them one day.

If the PJ can just prove she died in the apartment then the fund is fraudulant and fraud is a big deal in the courts.

All the money in the world would not buy my happiness if my child were missing and if she is dead and they know it they have to play a game for the rest of their lives.

Moving to Canada if that is what they intend to do may seem like the perfect way out but to most people they will allways be under suspicion of a terible crime.

They would have been better if inoccent to have helped by answering questions and not spinning the neglect into the perfect parent story. They will always be guilty of neglect and any normal parent would find the guilt of this more than they could bare and would never dream of making excuses for it and that say's it all for me..

IF any of the Tapas lot know anything then that will be a thorn in their side people split up and without a partner by your side telling you to stay strong and being quiet is the right thing to do a guilt trip will one day send them to the police to tell them all they know which will lead to them being investigated all over again.

DNA advancements are likely as well many criminals from very old cases have been sent to jail on updated DNA what a way to live your life watching the latests DNA tests develope and wondering if this one will prove she died in the apartment 100%...

Then they are such devoted Catholics can they even dare to confess their sins if they really do know what happend to her? God will be the final judge and they believe in him dont they?

Whatever happends to them let them enjoy the rest of their lives in the knowledge of what they have done it was not a mistake it was a choice to leave the children alone and a choice they want us to believe led to her being abducted. They want to pass the blame on to everyone but themselves but they know if this is what happend it is their fault what a way to live would not wish that on my worse enemy.

If what we read is to be believed the McCanns advertised their child neglect night after night. They told Jez Wilkins and Bridgette O’Donnell they left their children and Gerry seems to be a bit of a loud mouth so he probably told others. Then they left their children to cry remorselessly for hours on end indicating no parent was about. This advertisement for abandonment was there for all to see but no remorse is shown by G&K over this. Imo this is a strong indication that the neglect of being left alone and taken by a stranger did not happen to Madeleine. Yes it could have been a stranger abduction but their lack of remorse on the obvious part they played in allowing this scenario to be considered talk’s volumes to me.

Wizard,

It speaks volumes to me also. To ignore the child neglect is to ignore the missing neglected child, IMO.

Hi H4T,

Yes indeed where does it leave us? I believe the pj know very well what happened but the evidence is not strong enough for a conviction. I feel the Mc’s will remain arguidos unless such evidence is found that either clears or involves them in Madeleine’s disappearance.

They will be left in limbo.

Hi All
Sorry not around for long

Hi Hope nice to see you, good posts as always.

I know they are crying out for English Doctors etc., in Canada. A very good friend of ours was fast tracked last year to Vancouver Island. He has told us our NHS hospitals are third world compared to over there. The package included 3 months free rental on a property, until they found their feet, also private school fees for their children. They are extremely happy and would never come back.

Atardi

Sorry I missed your post the other night. Yes I am here for the same reason as you JFM. I just wish I had more time to read and post.

Wizard

I too feel at times they will get away with it because of all their influential backers, but then I think there are so many of us out there that truly believe something is very wrong with this case, I have to say my workmen included, although they are only going off what they read and see in news reports, so if they are not fooled I suppose that is a good thing.

I hope the McCanns are left as arguidos until this case is solved. I do not mean that to sound vindictive, but the fact is they have admitted to neglect which in Portugal is against the law.

Hi Di,

No problem at all. So you don't need to say sorry.

I,m nearly always online. And read all posts! My kids :) told me it is better to be online! Instead to put the laptop off and than on.
I still believe them because I have learned so much from them about internet and blogging.

At this moment my kids have their holiday. And I have a 6 year old one , so I can only read the latest posts
and can post whenever he is around.

What is you name on the 3A's? Would love to read you.

In 2004 we had people working here for nearly 6 months!!!! I wish you luck.

I have to logg in. So I will copy my post.

Read you tomorrow.

Hi Marga,

Our destination this summer will be Italy. After seeing those lovely pictures from Cláudia we might visit Portugal next year.

Will ask Viv for your e-mail address!

Hello, all.
Back from that hard job which is shopping. :-)I hope next time I'll go seriously shopping there will be Christmas lights and trees all over the place.
Have the very competent private detectives hired by the McCanns (and who are so much better than the PJ and the British Police) found Madeleine and returned her 'safe and unharmed' while I was away? A week has gone by.

mandarinn said...

Hi Claudia
nice to see you was enjoying shoping. I can assure you, no Madeleine, yet...

mandarinn said...

IMO they need the other police files to iluminate their detectives. How dare don't show to this "responsible parents" (ladey juge said) all the material collected. Certainly their detectives will made a better use of it.

atardi said...

Cláudia,

I was searching for your question.

So you survived shopping?

Cláudia said...

Mandarinn, hi. Don't worry, darling. I'm sure they will find her soon. Don't forget that the detectives said, some time ago, that they knew who had 'taken' Madeleine and that her return was imminent.

Cláudia said...

Atardi, not only did I survive it (ooops) but I passed the test with flying colours! ;-)))))

mandarinn said...

Maybe it was those detectives who told the lady juge who they are and that they are responsible people and will answer to her appeel

mandarinn said...

*appeal

Cláudia said...

Mandarinn, of course. And I'm also sure that they already know who the 'abductor' is but they probably don't want to interrupt his/her/their holidays...
sorry, phone

atardi said...

Hope,

I hope you enjoyed your holiday with your family.

Read your last post. Respect! I wished the parents were able to make such posts. Because than I would be convinced they didn't have nothing to do wit Madeleine's disappearance.

But Gerry compared his daughter to "what was missing" in his last blog. Terrible.

I don't think anyone missing a child need to go on holiday to realise "what" is missing.

Cláudia,

Don't hope yellow/gold and green.

Hello Atardi

Hope you are well???

We did not go away with our family it was just me and Mr Hope away to Spain for 3 nights to celebrate our 16th Wedding Anniversary. It was our first time away without the girls who stayed with my parents and we both missed them so much we will never do it again (although I am sure in a few years they will be ditching us).. They missed us but had a great time with their Grandparents but the 4 of us are so pleased to be back together and I have never been so pleased to be home.

One thing I did notice while we were away was the familys (made me miss them even more) we were in a hotel with Spanish, German, British and French people and the familys that had children all ate together played in the pool together and watched their children enjoying the childrens disco in the evening it made me realise again just how odd the McCann's and their friends were.

I could not say none of them dumped the children in the room at night while they went out alone but the people who had children during the day had them at night as well and they all seemed to enjoy eating with their parents (which made me miss the girls even more)...

Is your daughter still training for football and are all of them enjoying the summer holidays my girls are still at school for another week xxx

Hiya All

Wizard thanks for posting the report of Diario quoting Expresso. I have to say I have my doubts about this. There is no source quoted as to where this information is supposed to have come from and some of the comments are so bland it does sound like pure supposition to me. e.g. Murat was made a supsect due to a journalist, well tell us something we do not know! But it was not just a journalist, it was Jane Tanner and Co. There are some odd reports emanating from Expresso and I do not exactly trust this source. When papers want to print something if it happens to come from Clarence maybe they will not turn their nose up!

The major reason I think it is so unlikely any details of the final report would be dislosed by the Prosecutor or PJ is because the prosecutor is currently conducting a detailed study of this to see whether there should be further investigation or charges or archiving. We do not know which because he clearly has not made his decision yet. I also continue to think it is highly possible that Leicester Police will prosecute the McCanns, not the PJ. We should remember Mrs Justice Hogg has made an Order that NO BRITISH AGENCIES are required to disclose any information at all to the McCanns other than the return of information they already had at the very outset. The Chief Constable himself attended the High Court to oppose the McCanns - a measure of how serious this matter is. What is clearly quite certain I believe is the McCanns will always be prime suspects until they are charged and I believe that Leicester Police with the assistance of Portuguese Police are quite determined that at some stage they will be charged.

What we did hear officially from Portugal was that the McCanns would be told why they are suspects by 14 July, but this has now been extended to 14 August..This just does not sound to me like an investigation that is going to get shelved, although it may well be the Portuguese Police have taken it as far as they can. I believe that what Leicester Police are particularly probing is false sightings of Madeleine, hence the McCanns application to try and get this information. If the Police can prove they did this, then they have them!

Great posts tonight by the way folks and Claudia I am pleased to hear you are now ready to go for your PhD and also enjoyed the shopping, finished off with some refreshing orange juice, I hope.

Why is it the McCanns/Clarence do not want to tell us who these mystery investigators are! Could it be it is still the Retardos and Hogan International, but they do not want us to know this. Or, could it be any new investigators have insisted they do not wish to be named. If it was my firm I would be embarassed too !!

I am yet to be convinced all the monies that were claimed to go to Metado3 actually went to them. No factual evidence but a gut reaction.

I am still confident liek you Viv that these two will face a courtroom.

WHY?

because if they don't the signal that goes out is one where potentialy many young children will be more at risk.

PLUS

If they are totally innocent of any wrongdoing in any way ie fraud, accidentally death etc the rights of Madeleine will have been seen to have been exercised and a civilised legal system will have been maintained.

bath theory said...

And my guess is within 18 mths these two will be in prison. Just a hunch at this stage but a strong one. Time will tell of course.

Dr Shipman thought he was very clever but he forged patients'medical records and a computer expert was able to find this and he also forged one of his patient's will, unfornutately for Dr Shipman that lady's daughter was a very inquisitive solicitor who knew her mom's typing was an awful lot better than Dr Shipman's.

So it was ancillary details like this that actually hooked Dr Shipman and I think it will be the same with Kate and Gerry McCann.

Did you read about the set itenary he typed up for all his friends just to make sure they all got their stories straight! Also, at one stage the PJ thought all the friends children were in the McCann apartment as well, because the evidence of witnesses disclosed that it was only the McCann apartment that got visited by McCanns and their friends that night, I am afraid we know why! The Paynes ultimately confirmed to police that they were simply not bothering to check on their children.

The other issue is the guilty conduct of Jane TAnner and Russell O'Brien. The PJ learned their lesson by making the McCanns arguidos at an early stage, they/British Police are not going to make the same mistake with these two. They must be truly terrified! I believe they have more than enough evidence to prove what a liar Jane Tanner is, but removal of the body, maybe less certain and the roles OB and Gerry McCann played in that. I think the Irishman probably did see Gerry as noted in my post above! I have always thought that it was Gerry that Tanner was describing although clearly not wishing us to realise this, merely covering for him because he knew he had been seen.

As the lady is reported to have said her very self...

'They've taken her'

bath theory said...

It would be intriguing to find out if the 14 texts were between GM + OB. What is the likelihood on that one ?

Unknown said...

Hiya BT

Well we know that British Police do not care one little bit about the prime suspects being doctors. What they care about is locking up child killers or any killers for that matter.

The Police have always said they are "100 per cent certain Madeleine died in the apartment on 3 May" and we know, due to the evidence of the sniffer dogs that she must have died sometime before 8 pm, most likely much earlier in the evening. So they not only know she died, they know the two that are responsible and I believe David Payne has admitted that he lied and he did not witness Madeleine being alive at 7 /being put to bed as he earlier said. I do not believe she got anywhere near being put to bed that night. The death scent is in their bedroom and then in the living room etc. No trace in her bedroom but it is very interesting they seem to have a fragment of Madeleine's clothing that she died in. No wonder they are certain she died there!

bath theory said...

Viv, do we know that this Martin Smith believes the person he saw was GM?

Unknown said...

Hiya BT

That is what we used to think but since disclosure of the appeal court ruling it came to light that most of these texts came from a mystery person the day before Madeleine died and also the day after. I am afraid that makes it look ..well..that Gerry does have a very serious personality disorder.

Viv x

Unknown said...

Hiya BT

Well that depends on the report you read. Some say that Martin Smith was convinced it was Gerry when he saw him get off the plane at East Midlands airport holding Sean but I have read another report where Mr Smith is actually supposed to have said he hopes his evidence is helpful to the McCanns. Of course that could have been a bit tongue in cheek!
