SOME NEWS OF THE WORLD MCCANN RUBBISH FOR POSTERITY HOW MUCH OF IT YOU BELIEVE IS UP TO YOU!

Is this what it was all about to Murky Murdoch, as the "biggest reward ever was put up", without, it would seem, even consulting Kate and Gerry McCann who have never wanted it or referred to it (i.e. they do not want her found),

The biggest reward ever, or the biggest "story" ever.  I have always thought the press longer for another Princess Di and the money it made them, that is what they turned Maddie into.  It matter not whether the subject is dead or alive.
Reward for missing Madeleine

Record £1.5m for information leading to Maddie's safe recovery

THE News of the World has put up a record £1.5 million reward for the safe return of Madeleine McCann.

Stars and business leaders have donated huge sums in an unprecedented show of support for our Find Maddie campaign - to make up the largest award in newspaper history.

After we kicked off the fund with £250,000, Harry Potter author JK ROWLING put up a staggering amount - the largest single donation. But she asked us not to reveal the exact figure.
Kind-hearted JK married a Portuguese TV journalist and her first child Jessica was born in Portugal, a few hours' drive from Praia da Luz where Maddie was snatched.
Her dad Gerry said: "We are very happy and pleased with what you are doing. Anything that can be done to publicise that Madeleine is missing and help with the search is very welcome."
Topshop tycoon SIR PHILIP GREEN matched our £250,000 and said: "I hope this makes a difference."
Virgin's SIR RICHARD BRANSON put up £100,000, saying: "I'd like to appeal as a father to whoever is holding her to please bring her home safe."
Everton football club chairman and theatre boss BILL KENWRIGHT was one of the first people to see pictures of Maddie wearing his club's shirt before they were released this week.
Mr Kenwright, who has pledged a huge personal sum, said: "If it helps towards the reunion it will be the best cheque I've ever written."
Footie chairmen EGGERT MAGNUSSON of West Ham and Reading's JOHN MADEJSKI both gave £10,000.
Ann Summers boss JACQUELINE GOLD donated £100,000, explaining she wanted to get involved after meeting Sara Payne.
She said: "I pray that this nightmare comes to an end soon with the safe return of their beautiful little girl."
Telly star SIMON COWELL promised £50,000, saying: "I heard about the terrible situation here in LA and I hope she is found safe and sound."
Manchester United star WAYNE ROONEY and fiancée Coleen McLoughlin pledged £25,000, telling us: "We are praying for Maddie's safe return and for an end to what must be a nightmare for all her family."
The England cricket team joined in with £20,000. Captain MICHAEL VAUGHAN said: "Our thoughts and prayers are for Maddie's safe return."
Entrepreneur SIR TOM HUNTER pledged £100,000 with EasyJet boss SIR STELIOS Haji-Ioannou and Matalan chief JOHN HARGREAVESchipping in with large sums too.
The Mark Warner company, which runs the Ocean Village resort where Maddie was snatched, said: "We wholeheartedly support the News of the World initiative and anything that helps get Madeleine back."
Our reward offer, which appears in several major European languages on the right, is subject to standard News of the World reward offer conditions.

I tried to get "McCanns fury over Wiki slur" but got this nice message:

strange that, all the rest worked, I suppose it is a police thing, word has it News International are conferring a lot with the London Met at the moment....

Cops new e-fit of Maddie abductor

Met team's high tech image

May 15, 2011
EXCLUSIVE
THE face of Madeleine McCann's abductor could finally be unmasked by hi-tech police profiling computers, we can reveal.
A Metropolitan Police case review squad will be given access to key descriptions of potential suspects.
And they will use advanced software to produce a definitive e-fit. I have helpfully reproduced it at the side of this blog.
It is hoped it will produce an image of a man seen lurking near the McCanns' holiday flat in Portugal around the time Madeleine was snatched.
Several eyewitness accounts of the "suspicious" male will be run through the Electronic Facial Identification Technique. The team will be led by Detective Chief Inspector Andy Redwood - who snared a Portuguese killer who had been on the run for 15 years.
DCI Redwood will utilise profiling software - available to just five forces worldwide - to mine a wealth of data buried in the original McCann files.
They have never been co-ordinated because several were never put in the public domain by the Portuguese police
A source close to Madeleine's parents Kate and Gerry, of Rothley, Leics, said: "There is a long list of people who were interviewed at the time.
"Several of these spotted a man acting suspiciously around their apartment. It's a good chance this was the same man as many of the descriptions are extremely similar. They have never been co-ordinated because several were never put in the public domain by the Portuguese police. Kate found them only by trawling through the files. She was devastated.
"Now with the review we can pull all these together for the first time."
DCI Redwood will oversee a team of murder squad detectives at London's Belgravia Police Station. Around ten officers will work on the review - with others on stand-by in case of a major breakthrough. A Scotland Yard source said: "Andy is an extremely experienced homicide detective."
Kate, 43, and Gerry, 42, are confident that a single image will galvanise the global search for Madeleine, who vanished in Praia da Luz on May 3, 2007, when just three.
Last night a private detective hired by the couple was set to give his huge dossier (LOL) of evidence to Scotland Yard.
Our source said the work of ex-cop Dave Edgar "will be of enormous help to the Met for the review".
The source added: "The Met will have the files from the Portuguese and Leicestershire police but Dave's work has been the only real active investigation for the last two years."
Oh please!!

Cuts hold up Maddie UK probe

Who'll pay, ask police

A NEW probe by British cops into missing Madeleine McCann is being held up in a row over funding, we can reveal.
Police forces face cuts of tens of millions of pounds to their budgets leaving no spare cash to pay for what would be a costly re-investigation.
Home Secretary Theresa May held a meeting with Kate and Gerry McCann early this month to discuss the search for their daughter.
Senior officers at Scotland Yard have been consulted about taking on the case. But despite the apparent early progress we can reveal that there are two key stumbling blocks.
No police force can afford to take on the job which could take at least two detectives away from other duties for as long as a year.
A source said: "The real issue that needs to be resolved is who is going to pay for it? No police force can afford to agree to take on the case without knowing where the funding will come from.
"The other issue which is as important to resolve is to ensure that British officers will have full access in Portugal.
"At the moment there is no agreement in place that the Portuguese authorities are going to allow and co-operate with a British re-investigation.
"The review has highlighted the need for a thorough re-investigation starting from scratch. The Metropolitan Police have been consulted and are likely to be given the job, but not until all the problems have been ironed out."
The McCanns, from Rothley, Leicestershire, appealed directly to former Home Secretary Alan Johnson and now Mrs May for extra help.
Madeleine was three when she went missing from her family's holiday flat in Praia da Luz in May 2007. This year we broke the news that the Met's Homicide Command have been approached to discuss taking on the investigation.
Jim Gamble, head of the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre, told Labour ministers there were huge holes in the original inquiry. The treasury are set to slash eight per cent of the policing budget for the next three years threatening jobs.

McCanns... talk to the press
THE parents of Madeleine McCann yesterday went back to Portugal to plead for help in finding their missing daughter.
Ahead of the launch of their new book - called Madeleine - Kate and Gerry blitzed the media with a series of interviews.
Mum-of-three Kate, 43, said: "We need to find her and bring her back home to her family."
She admitted she felt guilty if she ever laughed but added: "It's important to be strong and relax from time to time."
Kate blasted Goncalo Amaral, the ex-police chief who wrongly implicated the McCanns in the disappearance. They are suing him for defamation.
She said: "He, more than anyone, has prejudiced the search for Madeleine."

Top cop spearheads new probe into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann

PROBE: Det Chief Insp Colin Sutton
PROBE: Det Chief Insp Colin Sutton
BRITAIN'S top murder cop has been lined up to spearhead a new probe into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, we can reveal.
Det Chief Insp Colin Sutton, 49, who has been involved in some of the UK's biggest inquiries - including the murder of Milly Dowler and the terror reign of the Nightstalker sex beast - is seen as the best man to handle the challenging review.
Senior child protection officer Jim Gamble has asked Scotland Yard to take a fresh look at the three-year investigation.
He blasted Portuguese cops for their handling of the hunt for Maddie - who vanished aged three from her family's Algarve holiday apartment in 2007. Now the Met Police are set to review all leads in the case, using technology and standards expected in a UK homicide or kidnap.
It will delight Maddie's parents, Kate and Gerry McCann. A senior police source said: "They deserve reassurance that everything that can be done has been done."

Maddie: It IS kidnap

Kate McCann insists missing daughter Maddie WAS kidnapped

TRIAL - Kate McCann
TRIAL - Kate McCann
KATE McCann yesterday insisted her missing daughter Maddie WAS kidnapped.
She said: "Only the abduction theory is possible because we were not involved in Madeleine's disappearance and she did not wander off by herself."
Kate, 41, also slammed ex-Portuguese police chief Goncalo Amaral who she and husband Gerry faced this week in a libel hearing over his banned book accusing them of faking Maddie's kidnap and hiding her body.
She wrote on the Find Maddie website: "His theories damage the search for our little girl. There is no evidence that Madeleine is dead and that we are involved in her disappearance."
Maddie, then three, vanished in Praia da Luz, Portugal, in 2007. The hearing resumes next month.

I wanted to get the News of the Worlds fab article "McCann fury at Wiki leaks slur" but a message came up they were having erm technical difficulties with that one!

Oh well FIEND IN THE FRAME sounds good!

Anyway nasty Wikileaks said the British Ambassador told the American Ambassador that British Police were trying to fit Kate and Gerry up for being involved in the disappearance of Maddie, as if!

Shame on you Mr Ellis, what hurtful and ludicrous lies and smears you tell about these friends of the News of the World.

Read all about the latest sighting of Maddie in The Super Sun, sister paper to the almost deceased News of the World. If there is a story to be created Murky Murdoch has it.

Seriously you would think even The Sun/Rebekah/James/Rupert or whoever might think this sounds just a bit daft after four years, how many Maddie sightings can we stand? Oh hang on, will there be any more now?

The parents of missing Madeleine McCann today welcomed new information which suggests their daughter may be in America.
A spokesman for Kate and Gerry McCann said an investigator had done "absolutely the right thing" by going to police with his suspicions.
Today's Sun newspaper quoted amateur sleuth Marcelino Italiano as saying Madeleine had been snatched by an Algarve-based paedophile ring which had taken a dozen other children.
The Angolan-born nightclub bouncer said: "I know these people were involved and I have been told that Madeleine may now be in America."
He has handed a dossier including the names of two prominent Portuguese businessmen to police in Huelva, south-west Spain, the newspaper said.

A spokesman for the McCanns said: "As with any information concerning Madeleine, this man has done absolutely the right thing by going to the police in Spain.
"It is entirely appropriate that the police and any other law enforcement body now investigates these claims along with the private investigators currently searching for Madeleine.
"These investigations are now under way."

Madeleine McCann on holiday in Praia da Luz in the Algarve in May 2007
Madeleine was nearly four when she vanished from her family's holiday apartment in Praia da Luz in the Algarve on May 3, 2007 as her parents dined with friends nearby.
Despite a massive police investigation and huge publicity worldwide, she has not been found.
The official Portuguese inquiry into Madeleine's disappearance was formally shelved in July 2008, although private detectives employed by the McCanns have continued the search.
Sightings have been reported from around the world but the child has not been traced.

Sightings of Maddie have been reported from all around the world, well ummm even the Portuguese Prosecutor was a bit sarcy about that when writing his report shelving the case in Portugal. Of course, it has never been shelved here. Unlucky for the McScams.

Snatched by an Algarve Paedophile ring, blimey we have come full circle. Gerry knew that within an hour of her disappearing, he was heard telling his relatives about it by a witness.

Gerry was able to furnish police with duplicate sets of photos of Maddie, that same night, one where she is all dolled up in her money spinning Everton kit and long hair and another where she looks all of two and really cute with a little blond bob.

Then on the 8th May, five days after her disappearance he was again very helpful to the police, supplying them with a nice CD he had done of all the holiday snaps. Michael WRight did one too. Then on 21 May and after he had popped home to get it, he was able to supply the world with his last pic of Maddie by the pool.

What a thoroughly helpful chap, I just think he could have been a wee bit quicker with the CD. Maybe he could, been as he is so clever, have thought sod messing about preparing a CD of the snaps for the police, I mean I want Maddie back, yes sod it, I will just hand the cameras over to the police, that will be quicker. Fancy not thinking of that eh Gezzy!

It would be nice to think that yet again, The Daily Express are being a bit naughty here and the McCanns have to play ball with Murdoch because he had their telephone conversations/messages hacked. How would that all come out in the wash now Rebekah is being so good and handing everything over to the coppers (so long as they leave her alone)

Will Rebekah suddenly find the McCanns messages at the bottom of Coulson's old filing cabinet or something?

http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/257243/Phone-Hacking-Was-Maddie-s-family-targeted-

hursday July 7 2011 by John Twomey

THE parents of missing Madeleine McCann may have been targeted by the News of the World, an MP said yesterday.

Chris Bryant told the emergency Commons debate that Scotland Yard is investigating allegations that the voicemails of Kate and Gerry McCann were hacked by the paper.

The McCanns, whose four-year-old daughter vanished in Portugal in 2007, join a growing “list of shame” of alleged victims of the hackers.

They include murdered schoolgirl Milly Dowler and her family along with the parents of Soham murder victims Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman.

Sara Payne, whose daughter Sarah, eight, was killed by paedophile Roy Whiting, and relatives of murder victim Danielle Jones, 15, as well as victims of the 7/7 bombings may also have been hacking victims.

Mr Bryant, whose phone was hacked by the paper, said the scandal revealed the NoW had “completely lost sight of any idea of decency”. He said: “I am told that police are looking at not just Milly Dowler’s phone and those of the families of Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman, but the case of Madeleine McCann and 15-year-old Danielle Jones who was abducted and murdered in Essex in 2001 by her uncle Stuart Campbell.”

î

The McCanns’ spokesman Clarence Mitchell confirmed officers investigating the hacking case had contacted him.

He discovered “suspicious” activity on his account from February and July 2008 after asking his phone firm to examine his records late last year. The ex-BBC journalist, who became the McCann family spokesman in 2007, confirmed the phone records of Gerry and Kate McCann were also checked.

He said: “The results came back to say that in both their cases there were no obvious signs of suspicious activity on their accounts.”

Since their daughter vanished, Kate and Gerry McCann have complained their phones were tampered with. It is understood three supporters of the couple were also told their voicemails may have been accessed

Unknown said...

Of course Clarence would be very hack aware, being best buddies with Coulson.

The thing is Clarissa, are Kate and Gerry complaining NOW about their phones being hacked? I doubt it somehow...

Unknown said...

oooh I wonder who the three supporters of the couple may be who got hacked. I just cannot believe the News of the World would go hacking the TAPAS phones, unbelievable! Well even if they did they were only trying to help find Maddie and did put up a big reward and the McCanns were not a bit grateful for them getting all those rich celebs to pledge all that dosh. Probably because it was not for them and they could think of no way they could get their hands on it, other than producing Maddie which they thought may be a bit incriminating. So, after duly ruminating on how can we get our hands on the reward, via Amsterdam or whatever, they had to pass on that one. They had plenty of other work lined up for their well paid lawyers.

I just remembered the News of the World published Kate's diary, allegedly without her permission and paid her compensation. I wonder how they got their maulers on that. I do not think they have always been so nice to the Mucks. They did print that article about Cuddlecat being on a high shelf which was obviously rubbish, and they did print that article pointing out their mates said they did not arrive that night until 9 pm - whether they got that from hacking their phones I just don't know.

And then there is SKY printing all that nasty transcript of the nasty Goncalo Amaral case that he ultimately won. The prosecutor even said they may have kidnapped and sold Maddie apart from all the murder claims from reports by British experts, that was just not nice, was it? Wicked slurs.

So, the NOTW is publishing for the last time on Sunday sacrificed to safeguard Murdock’s hold on the more lucrative Sky.

I can’t say I was shocked at the revelations of phone tapping by the NOTW this is how they get their scoops. It’s just aggressive investigative journalism. Nothing new and what most papers indulge in to get their stories.

The McCanns were apparently phone tapped by them, which means nothing of interest was picked up, as they would have heard. During this period the Mc’s must have thought the police had the placed bugged anyway so most certainly would have be on their guard about talking on the phone or even in the house. So, nothing relevant being heard comes as no surprise. The Mcs just said what they wanted their listeners to hear. Which would explain some of the drivel the NOTW published.

Today I hear on the news that the name ‘Sunday Sun’ has been registered so the NOTW staff will be reinstalled on the Sun’s Sunday paper. I’ve always thought of the NOTW being the Sunday sister paper of the Sun – so it will only be the title that changes – business as usual.

Unknown said...

Hiya Wiz and great to see you back, we have missed your input.

It does seem that way and typical of Murdoch, business expediency always comes first, and it seems he looks at it that way in relation to Rebekah also.

Lol, I suspect you are probably right, "our source" was actually reading or listening to the McCann drivel/dogma and printing it. They do talk the talk, that is for sure. Those same tired old phrases.

I too have always looked upon The Sun as the sister paper of the NOW, but will they have to tone down the Sunday edition a bit now!

Wrongly, I have also thought of Sky as his but of course at present he only owns about one third, is that why we get some pretty good anti stuff on there like the transcripts. What a load of mush the news will be if he is in charge, no longer ever worth reading it!

Unknown said...

Looking at this early article, you could suggest the NOW had been listening in to the McCanns and their friends and knew there was a major discrepancy that was taxing the Portuguese Police. It has been suggested they interfere in murder investigations.

THE LOST HALF HOUR
By Lucy Panton
PORTUGUESE police are concentrating on what they claim is a missing half hour in accounts of the night Madeleine disappeared.
The McCanns told detectives they believed they arrived at the Tapas restaurant at 8.30pm.
But months into the investigation, Portuguese detectives now allege they did not turn up until almost 30 minutes later.
Friends' statements show there may be differences of opinion over what time Kate and Gerry arrived with some of the pals stating it was just before 9pm.
Police want to quiz the couple again over what they call the "missing half hour".

A police source said: "We believe the timetable of events that evening is crucial to the inquiry. We want to know how they could make such a mistake over the time they arrived."
Early on in the investigation the McCanns said they got to the restaurant at 8.30pm.
Based on arrival timings given by their dining companions, that would mean the tragic couple arrived first before their friends.
But police sources say statements given by those pals show the McCanns arrived just before 9pm—and that by then all of their friends were already there.
Checked
The statements claim that Russell O'Brien, Jane Tanner, Matthew and Rachel Oldfield were first to arrive at around 8.45pm.
At 8.55 David and Fiona Payne were said to have turned up with Fiona's mum, Diane Webster.
Some statements indicate that the McCanns turned up two or three minutes after the Paynes.
If these new timings are accurate police are questioning why Gerry would go back and check the children just 5 minutes later.
He is reported as saying he checked the apartment and all three children were sleeping at 9.05pm.
This was confirmed when on his way back he stopped to speak to Jeremy Wilkins, another guest at the resort he had met playing tennis earlier in the week.
At 9.10pm Jane Tanner said she crossed Gerry's path on her way to check her own children.
Around that time she says she saw a man carrying away a child she now believes was Madeleine.
She describes the man as aged 35, dark-haired. wearing beige trousers and black shoes. She said the girl, who appeared to be sleeping, was toddler age, bare-footed and wearing pink pyjamas like Madeleine's.
No one else out that night reported seeing this man.
Portuguese cops have piled on the agony for the McCanns by retracing their steps and naming them both as official suspects. They believe the couple may have been involved in the disappearance of three-year-old Madeleine. And they think one may be covering up for the other.
Officers are probing a "three-hour window of opportunity" on the theory that during this time Madeleine was killed in the apartment and her body hidden somewhere nearby.
It starts the last time the children were seen alive by anyone but their parents and ends when Kate and Gerry were seen in public.
The last time Madeleine was seen alive was by staff at the Ocean Club creche at 6pm.
The McCanns were then alone with their children for almost three hours at the most if they did arrive at the Tapas restaurant at 9pm.A police source said: "The couple are being monitored to see how they react to every new piece of information they receive.
"The pressure has slowly been mounting on the McCanns over the last month as new information has been fed into the inquiry." Sources say the couple have been kept under surveillance following the discovery by a dog of the smell of death in their apartment on August 1.

Unknown said...

Police now claim they have detected blood in a Renault Scenic car hired by the McCanns 24 days after Maddie's disappearance.
During questioning, GP Kate was asked why she had washed Madeleine's favourite toy "Cuddle Cat". Cops believe she has was trying to hide forensic evidence of her daughter's death.
Washed
The police claim the smell of a corpse was found on Kate's T-shirt, jeans and on Cuddle Cat.
Kate says she washed the toy on August 5—four days after police dogs picked up "the scent of death".
She insists she washed the toy simply because it was covered in dirt and sun tan lotion.
Portuguese police are relying heavily on a Cracker-style profiler who has been studying the McCanns' behaviour. The profiler has reportedly claimed that he suspects that the couple, from Rothley, Leics, could be "distracting" themselves from the horror of what they might have done by getting involved in the massive media campaign.
Doubts have also been cast over the lack of emotion and the controlled composure of the couple since their daughter disappeared.
The profiler has told cops that this matches that of a couple who are united and focused in a bid to cover up a tragedy.
But former Chief Inspector Albert Kirby, who led the hunt to trap the killers of toddler James Bulger, said: "There is very little time for the McCanns to have murdered their daughter and disposed of her body.
"And they would have had to carry her body a short distance away and concealed it without anyone spotting them. The body would have also had to remain concealed and unfound for a long time despite the police search.
"The Portuguese police must believe that one of them managed to conceal the body in a flat or a bush."

Kate's fear of being locked up

News of the World
09 September 2007

ANGUISHED mum Kate hugged her two-year-old twins close and said a tearful goodbye as she was called in for her SECOND tough interrogation by Portuguese cops.

She had already endured an 11-hour grilling on Thursday and feared she might not be coming home from Friday's session.

A friend revealed: "Kate was petrified that the detectives would charge her over Maddie's disappearance and keep her in prison.

"When she left for the police station on Friday she had no idea whether she'd be seeing little Sean and Amelie later that day or weeks down the line.

"So she went to see them at their crèche and said goodbye, she gave them both a big kiss and cuddle. It was a very emotional journey and her goodbye with Gerry was very personal, too.

"It wasn't so much the words he used, but the look of resilience he gave her. He was saying to her 'Don't let them get you down, we can do this.'"

Defiant

And the pal said that Kate did him proud as she remained defiant throughout the five-hour interview and even turned the tables on the officers, asking them to produce their evidence.

The source said: "Once Kate was formally named as a suspect she had the right to remain silent. But when the police started laying it on thick, she hit back and demanded to be shown what they'd got to support their theory that she and Gerry had killed Maddie then covered up the crime.

"Kate's determined not to be pushed into saying anything that isn't true.

"It was very intense but she stood her ground."

Gerry emerged from his grilling at the police station just after midnight on Friday and a family friend revealed he found the ordeal and allegations distressing.

"But he was determined not to give the police the satisfaction of seeing him break down," said the friend.

"He held firm and answered all the questions. He wasn't going to cry in front of them."

But the tears flooded out when Gerry arrived back at the family's villa in the early hours of yesterday for an emotional reunion with Kate.

The pal said: "There was an explosion of anger. They're in a state of disbelief and shock at what's happened. But they are just trying to remain focused on finding Madeleine."

I agree with this poster on MM, Mitchell certainly is hedging his bets to avoid being called a criminal liar, something may come out in the future. Yes we know that Clarence.

McCann spokesman to discuss phone hacking
Thursday, July 07, 2011 Leicester Mercury
Follow.Kate and Gerry McCann's spokesman Clarence Mitchell is to be interviewed a second time by police investigating alleged phone hacking by journalists.

Mr Mitchell says it is possible he was a victim of illegal attempts to access his mobile phone messages during the height of the case involving the McCanns' missing daughter, Madeleine.

He has already spoken once to detectives before allegations that reporters from the News of the World hacked into several phone accounts, including that of murdered schoolgirl Millie Dowler, emerged this week.

Mr Mitchell discovered suspicious activity on his account in February and July, 2008, after asking Vodafone to examine his records late last year.

He said there was no indication that the phone accounts of the McCanns, from Rothley, had been hacked.

He said: "There has been no suspicion that they have been affected though something may emerge in the future.

"I have already spoken to officers in relation to my account to this and expect to do so in the near future.

"I am not pointing the finger at anyone, but at the time the story was front page fodder so it is possible journalists were involved.

"We were not naive. At that time, we knew it was a possibility that this was going on so we were always careful about what we said in messages.

"If, and it is an if, my phone was hacked, then it is a breach of my privacy and potentially something that could have had a harmful affect on the search for Madeleine.

"It that proves to be the case I will look at taking this down legal channels as other victims have."

Prime Minister David Cameron has promised a public inquiry into the affair once the police inquiry is complete.
Unquote

Mitchell is hedging his bets as per usual... what could "possibly emerge in the future"? either their phones were or weren't hacked and what could be found if they had erased all messages?
