CHILDREN RARELY KILLED BY SEX CRAZED STRANGER..

Children under 5 are known to be particularly at risk of parental homicide with mothers being equally as guilty as fathers. The full text of the article below, emphasises the difference in treatment between the two sexes however, with mothers often being dealt with sympathetically, they were mentally ill, but fathers often being found to be acting out to punish the wife, they were evil. There is an all too familiar ring in the details given with the behaviour of the father in Greece, including his own attempted suicide. I hope this man is re-tried for what he did.

What is particularly horrifying is that in a staggering 95% of cases these little tots know the person who killed them.

The final paragraph of this article is particularly poignant ..maybe it is high time people stopped considering children as their property to do with as they will and a much greater emphasis was placed on the fact that children are legal entities in their own rights. They have just as much right to enjoy a family holiday for example..and to be safe on that holiday. They are not possessions to be dumped in a safe..they are real little people, helpless, vulnerable little people if they are not part of a loving and protective family.

Did Kate view Madeleine as an extension of herself?

Given that Dr O'Brien was missing from the meal table for 45 minutes and during the same time that Madeleine went missing, just how can the McCanns be so certain he had nothing to do with it? That just does not make sense, does it, if you know you did not do it yourself, then you would just have to suspect this man of harming your child, wouldn't you? How could you not? How could you know it was some "lurking predator" with such certainty that the McCanns display. Given they say they left the door open, rather than protect "their property" how could they say with certainty, Madeleine did not just wander off? I know for a fact when my children were four they would have been able to open a patio door, desperate to find me if they had woken up alone..Why did the PR man for Martin Warner write in The Times, Kate was convinced that Madeleine had just wandered off and had an accident or was being kept safe by someone, is Mr Woolfall telling lies? The Numbers

Children under the age of 5 in the United States are more likely to be killed by their parents than anyone else. Contrary to popular mythology, they are rarely killed by a sex-crazed stranger. FBI crime statistics show that in 1999 parents were responsible for 57 percent of these murders, with family friends and acquaintances accounting for another 30 percent and other family members accounting for 8 percent. Crime statistics further reveal that of the children under 5 killed from 1976 to 1999, 30 percent were murdered by their mothers while 31 percent were killed by their fathers. And while the strangers, acquaintances, and other family members who kill children skew heavily toward males (as does the entire class of murderers), children are as likely to be murdered by their fathers as by their mothers.

The Newspapers

Doug Saunders observed recently in the Toronto newspaper the Globe and Mail that the media is complicit in treating maternal killers as newsworthy and paternal killers as ordinary criminals. Newspapers currently following every motion in the Andrea Yates trial completely ignored last month's Los Angeles filicide, in which Adair Garcia killed five of his six children by asphyxiating them with a barbeque he'd lit in the living room. He did it to punish his estranged wife, who had moved out a week earlier. Coverage of Ukranian immigrant Nikolay Soltys, who killed his pregnant wife and 3-year-old son last August, was less focused on his mental state than his dramatic flight and capture. Why is Yates a front-page story while Garcia is disregarded? To paraphrase Michelle Oberman: Murdering mothers are just different.

The Motives

The same studies that have been used to prove that murderous mothers are "sick" can as readily be used to support the theory that both mothers and fathers consider children to be a woman's property. Social science research and FBI crime statistics show that men and women differ in the reasons they kill their children, in the methods they employ, and in the ways they behave following such murders. None of this data proves that fathers are crazier than mothers. Much of it suggests that we all simply believe children "belong" to their moms.
Researchers, building on the work of Phillip Resnick, have shown that women tend to kill their own offspring for one of several reasons: because the child is unwanted; out of mercy; as a result of some mental illness in the mother; in retaliation against a spouse; as a result of abuse. Frequent themes are that they themselves deserved to be punished, that killing the children would be an altruistic or loving act, or that children need to be "erased" in order to save or preserve a relationship. Contrast this with the reasons men kill their children: Most frequently—like Garcia or Soltys—they kill because they feel they have lost control over their finances, or their families, or the relationship, or out of revenge for a perceived slight or infidelity. The consistent idea is that women usually kill their children either because they are angry at themselves or because they want to destroy that which they created, whereas more often than not, men kill their children to get back at a woman—to take away what she most cherishes.
According to a recent article by Elizabeth Fernandez in the San Francisco Chronicle, studies further reveal that fathers are far more likely to commit suicide after killing their children. Mothers attempt post-filicide suicide but rarely succeed. Some scholars suggest this is because mothers tend to view their children as mere extensions of themselves and that these homicides are in fact suicidal.

The Murders

Perhaps more revealing than the differences in why they kill their offspring are the differences between how fathers and mothers do so. For one thing, parental murderers tend to be highly physical. According to a 1988 survey done by the U.S. Justice Department, while 61 percent of all murder defendants used a gun in 1988, only 20 percent of the parents who killed their children used one. Children were drowned and shaken, beaten, poisoned, stabbed, and suffocated. These methods betray a certain "craziness" in both genders—they betray an intense passion and a lack of planning. But a study by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children shows that fathers are far more violent. And mothers frequently dispose of the corpses in what researchers call a "womblike" fashion. Bodies are swaddled, submerged in water, or wrapped in plastic. Moreover, the NCMEC study showed that while the victims of maternal killings are almost always found either in or close to the home, fathers will, on average, dispose of the bodies hundreds of miles away. All these behaviors suggest that women associate these murders with themselves, their homes, and their bodies
None of the arguments here assumes that there is no such thing as postpartum depression or, in rarer cases, postpartum psychosis—a deep break from reality that affects less than one in 500 new mothers. Andrea Yates is actually a good example of someone who was overdetermined to experience some kind of psychotic break that would end tragically. But Yates is only one of hundreds of mothers who kill every year, and while complete psychotic breaks explain why some of this homicidal rage and violence is turned upon one's own children, it doesn't account for either the staggering numbers of maternal homicides or for society's leniency toward women in these cases. The property theory does provide these answers. Women still believe that they have sole dominion over so little property that arson and armed robbery and rape make no intuitive sense to them. But the destruction and control of something deemed to be a woman's sole property sends a powerful message about who's really in charge, and this message hasn't changed since the time of Jason and Medea.
It would, of course, help if we could stop thinking of children as anyone's property. It does nothing to advance the feminist cause to simply assume that all mothers who kill their children must necessarily be crazy. It will do a good deal to advance the cause of children's rights if we begin to consider them as legal entities in and of themselves.

Would you be so nice to give me the link to the Spiegel article on the investigation of this case?

I had a quick look through yesterday's blog and I'm very interested in reading it.

Thanks.

Have all a nice day here.

Have to leave now. I'm attending a special meeting this weekend where I can reflect upon you all here and your contribution to a better world.

Morning from the top of Anapurna - which appears to have been relocated to Surrey this morning,

http://www.people.co.uk/news/tm_headline=kate-and-gerry-mccann-to-be-cleared%26method=full%26objectid=20374236%26siteid=93463-name_page.html

Cops to drop Kate & Gerry arguido claim Boost for missing Madeleine's parents
By Tom Carlin Tom.Carlin@People.Co.Uk

The cloud of suspicion hanging over Kate and Gerry McCann is set to be sensationally lifted by Portuguese police.

The couple's status as formal suspects - arguidos - in the disappearance of their four-year-old daughter Madeleine is about to be dropped, The People can reveal.

The dramatic move will follow a comprehensive review of the case which will be completed within weeks.

But the McCanns will not be cleared until after May 8 - five days after the first anniversary of Maddie's disappearance when the couple had hoped to be back in Portugal to boost the search.

A highly-placed Portuguese legal source told The People last night: "I can confirm a review of the case will be concluded next month.

"It may well be the case that Kate and Gerry's arguido status is about to be dropped."

A family friend of the McCanns said Kate and Gerry were "greatly encouraged" by these developments.

The couple had repeatedly pleaded for their arguido status to be lifted so they could concentrate on their search for Maddie.

Their lawyers have warned them not to return while they are stil suspects.

A family source added: "Any announcement that Kate and Gerry are no longer being treated as suspects will be a massive weight off their shoulders.

"But there will still be considerable heartache for them as the timing means this will not be likely until after the first anniversary of Maddie's disppearance."

The McCanns' spokesman Clarence Mitchell said: "If they returned now to Portugal it would be a distraction and would put pressure on police.

Their lawyers would block it anyway.

"But once their arguido status has been lifted, they will feel differently.

"They have discussed the possibility of returning but nothing has yet been agreed." Maddie went missing from the family's Algarve holiday flat in Praia da Luz on May 3 last year as her parents ate tapas nearby.

Kate - both 39-year-old doctors from Rothley, Leics - were made official suspects in September after months of interviews.

But despite immense pressure from investigators pushing for a confession, they have always maintained their innocence. An insider said: "It is great news that Kate and Gerry are finally set to be cleared.

"But at the same time it also shows the police have got no idea about what happened to Madeleine.

"It is almost a year since she disappeared and we still don't seem any closer to finding her."

Goodness, Clarrie's up early this morning...

HI Viv,
Excellent article today and how interesting to read 95% of children kiled actually know the person or are close to them.
I have just read the Guardian online and Clarrie has evidently tried ot explain away the inconsistancies in timing by stating that none of the Tapas 9 had watches or mobiles on them. obvioulsy blatantly untrue as we know Gerry sent the 14 texts and if they had neither watches nor mobiles how would they know the time to make their allegedly regular checks. I also read in another paper online that the questioning is to take place in Leicester city centre but neither Gerry or Kate will be in Leicestershire when this takes place. Maybe they are going early to Brussels..The people whihc is none too relaible states their Arguido status will be lifted on 8th May, how they would know that I don't know, info allegedly came from a Portuguese source, probably Clarrie I would imagine. Daisy

Why is this a sick site? Madeleine is missing thanks largley to the incompitence of her parents if she was taken and they have not shown very much compasion towards her.

In fact if you read Gerrys blogs from the early days he is more concered about how fast they jogged somewhere and who they met you would be excused for forgetting that they are the parents of a missing child.

The below is from the 20th May 17 days after his beautiful daughter was taken by a peadophile ring that would be putting her through hell and yet on his first blog he mentions her at 23.30 with one line.

This blog is about Madeleine and yet Kates jogging gets three lines and the rest of it is taken up with how wonderful they are with the twins and meeting with press officers and trip to the church...

Forgive me but the comments this man has made his storming out of interviews and not accepting responsibility that neglect is wrong. These people are not idiots they are well aware of the dangers in the world as they are Dr's Kate must have read many articles and met many people who's lives had been destroyed by neglect and abuse yet they did not even think it was not safe????

Sorry Daisy but what is sick is leaving 3 young children alone night after night to far away to hear them cry. A terified child crying for their parnts should be reasured in under a minute not left until somone can be bothered to check on them. If Madeleine had just been scared of the shadow in the corner she deserved to have a parent tell her it was ok.

Screw their Arguido status they have to live with what they have done but people like these should not be involved with childrens campaines unless they are shouting loud and clear just how wrong and selfish they had been to neglect their children and tell any other idiot not to do it..

20th May 23007

Our day starts around 6.30am with us all waking up around the same time. We have breakfast with Sean and Amelie and our close family/friends who are here with us. Then its clean nappies and clothes for Sean and Amelie followed by showers etc for the rest of us.

Usually there’s some free time then for a few stories or games with the twins before heading out.

9.00-9.15 We take Sean and Amelie to Kids’ Club. They really enjoy it and run in. They know the staff well and the staff are all excellent. Both love the domestic corner and Amelie particularly likes to look after ‘babies’. We use the kids club a bit like nursery at home but we think Sean and Amelie still think they are on holiday!

9.30~12.15. We return to the apartments, usually for a series of meetings with our press officer, Mark Warner Reps, occasionally Consulate staff, lawyers and British Liaison officers. During this time we catch up with family and close friends, usually by telephone and discuss ideas how to keep Madeleine’s profile high especially throughout continental Europe.

12.30 Time to pick up Sean and Amelie from Kids’ club then head back to apartment for lunch, which has usually been prepared by one of our family/friends group who have been tremendously supportive.

13.30 –14.30 This is time to spend time playing with the twins either in the apartment or in the play area next to kids club.

14.30-15.00 Usually we take the twins back to Kids’ Club although Sean has had the odd afternoon in the apartment as it’s a bit cooler and he’s not much of a sun worshipper! They have been taking part in many different activities including painting, singing, stories, swimming, trips to the beach and they have lots of toys to play with.

15.00~17.00 We try to get some time together alone, going for a walk to talk things over or getting some exercise. This is often the time for quiet trips to the church for prayers.

17.00-17.30 Meet kids for high tea with other mums and dads. They love pasta and have been doing really well with their vegetables although a few chips have been squeezed in.

17.30-18.30. Games with kids at play area. Amelie loves trying to get in the baby pool!

18.30-19.30 Bath and story time with the twins.

20.00 We put the kids to bed.

20.30-23.00 We try to sit down for a family meal, again usually cooked by one of the small family group out here with us. Chat about the day’s events and plan the next day

23.30 bed and prayer for Madeleine that she will be returned to us safely ASAP.

In addition to above we try to attend various church services during the week, and make multiple phone calls to family and friends. We try to watch the main news early morning and late evening but have had almost no time to read the newspapers or even look at the pictures!

Kate is a keen runner and in the last few days has tried to include a run in the daily routine. Yesterday (Sat) at 7am we ran to the monument at the top of the steep cliff overlooking Praia de Luz. We reached it in 19 minutes.

Great articles Viv. The reason I continue to post, children have rights and are not possessions.

Funny how The People claim the formal status of Arguido/a is about to be dropped yet further on in the same article it states it may well be dropped! The whole article makes as much sense as the claim that nine adults did not wear watches or have mobile phones when they dined at the Tapas bar the night the child went missing. How did they time their checks on their unsupervised children (if they actually did check them,IMHO) without any means of knowing the time? Very responsible, just as responsible as leaving them. Did they get one of the party to use the 1 elephant,2 elephant, three elephant etc time system. The articles just go from bad to worse, making them look more daft than they did before they were made suspects/Argudi in Sept.07 in an ongoing live investigation of their own missing child, IMHO. What a brill PR campaign, IMHO. What will week ahead dish out.

Is why I continue to post as well...

This must never happen again and hopefully any parent who thinks it is ok to go out and leave their child will now know it is against the law and more importantly very very stupid and wrong.

Felicity,

Thanks for interesting articles. Ironside posted an excerpt of one of Kate's interviews which I'll try to locate and paste.

Her comments were made in response to being questioned about leaving her children alone - she said, words to the effect, we know what happened to Madeleine and what happened had nothing to do with her being left alone.

In defending herself against neglect, she did, in effect, confirm the only other option.
She knows what happened, she knows Eddie & Keela's findings backed by forensic results are the reason.
Madeleine did not disappear because she was left alone, as Kate herself confirmed.

Her comments in interview would not bode well under cross examination in Court. It also
confirms Gerry's need to control what Kate says as she appears to be a liability when interviewed alone.

HI Viv,

Opus is truly overjoyed - all this snow reminds him of the place of his birth (California). Yes, he's flapping around in the snow, and now I understand why penguins have big orange beaks: not because they're Jewish (that's why I have a big, orange beak), but so that they stand out in the weather. Then again, everyone's orange in California...

Jojam,

Parents leaving their children alone in a holiday flat while they dine 100mts away elsewhere with their friends, who between the lot of them did not have a watch or mobile phone with them is showing no respect, IMHO. Did that happen to Madeleine? Was that showing her she is respected and valued?

Did you have a nice evening??

The Girls have discovered the snow is cold and makes their gloves wet (never) mind you it was about 4 years ago the last time snow settled here...

It is melting fast now but at 6am myself and husband were led in bed watching it fall (very sad we were both excited to see it)...

My youngest has made the worlds smallest snowman and as I am such a wonderful mum I stood in the conservatory and watched her throught the glass...

They only lasted 30 minutes but had fun it is not like the snow we had when I was younger really deep and cut off from the world...

Colonel Gaddafi,

It's great to see young kids in the snow, isn't it? My sixteen-year-old is still in bed, grunting every so often when I talk to him - I think he managed a mumbled "oh, snow" when I told him to look out of the window. And then promptly went back to sleep.

I had a Canadian friend who lived over here for a few years; she told me she always insisted her husband go out into the -20 degree night to cook supper on the barbecue every evening in winter because the food tasted so much nicer, whilst she watched from the window to make sure he was doing it properly. She was over in the UK recovering from her divorce (she never did let on why they split up).

Yes, I'm feeling great, ta! Lovely evening with the son last night, too. We cooked together and had a great laugh (and not at my cooking, for once).

Can't say the same for the cats this morning - they're looking very glum at the prospect of freezing their whiskers off catching voles.

Brrr.

LittleGreyCell said...

Oh, and Jojam,

I, too, am 'balanced and objective', as are most of the others on this site.

Being these things does not mean we're not persuaded to believe certain things happened on that holiday after careful consideration of what we know about the case and the people involved. Juries have to be balanced and objective, but that's not to say that they don't make a decision about what happened at some point.

Personally, my balance and objectivity were severely dealt a blow when the Pros kept laying into me on the DE site for asking questions. I had no agenda, I was merely asking questions.

This led to believe that balance and objectivity were not required...

The People - Latest PR SPIN .....

The Prosecutor did not rule closure of the case 7 September.
Based on evidence examined, the McCanns were named 'arguidos'.
Foreign Office prevented arrest as PJ & Leicester Police intended
(google) articles confirm.

If no evidence existed, the Prosecutor would have ruled closure 7 months ago.

Prosecutor examined additional evidence found after 7 September.
On this basis, PJ prepared to fly to Britain in early March for minimum two month stay to reinterview prime suspects and associates, including CM, witnesses and Tapas Group.

The fact that the case was not closed based on Prosecutor's examination of original and additional evidence leaked by PJ - including damning wheel well specimens - confirms the article is grossly misleading - so no surprises there CM's forte.

The author of the article is not privvy to all the evidence examined and authorized by the Prosecutor's ruling for pursuance to Court. This is confirmed by
PJ's aims and intentions for two months of lengthy interviews - primarily McCanns & CM - which were obviously thwarted and blocked.

It is not the first time CM has made public comments on behalf of the Police for the benefit of the prime suspects and to the detriment of two Police forces in this sordid case.

The Prosecutor has vigorously pursued legal procedures on the basis of PJ's dossier of evidence over and above monumental costs, in Madeleine's best interests.

Those protecting prime suspects are clearly in the driving seat and are continuing to use media manipulation tactics.

Those who have protected the McCanns against dossier of evidence and fought Prosecutor & two police forces every step of the way are shortly departing to Brussels - arranged by Miliband who stopped their arrest seven months ago.

Police in this case were set up to be brought down and publicly humiliated. DE were party to it .. it boosts sales ....

The Lemon Diet is 3.5 Lemons a measure of madal bal natural tree syrup (cant remeber the qty) ginger and then make up to 2 litres with water...

The syrup is around £40 for a liter (you can get it from health food shops or on line)...

It was designed for stomach ulcers (LGC has been using it with normal maple syrup and said it was soothing) and the side effect is you burn fat...

There are diffrent ways to use it I go for the 5 days eat nothing and drink this (feel great not hungry but by day 6 I need food)...

I have posted a link to a website below I have never bought from this site but it gives more info...

I lost a stone the first time I used it but mainly it makes you feel really well (has more vitamins than I normally have in it)...

Obviously you need to eat well when you have finished it but it is a good boost and comes with a free book which makes sense of diet etc...

Hello how are you???

Thanks for that..

I have two theorys as to why it is taking so long...

1. They want to make sure that they have everything watertight before comming over.

2. They have been blocked in their efforts to re interview.

I cant understand why they would not just say it was an abduction the parents were not involved sorry we cant find her if there is no evidence sadly many children go missing every year and never found again. Or they could have framed Murat if they wanted to frame someone and clear it up.

I also cant understand why they would be blocked in comming over (maybe they have not been) but if my child were missing I would want statements gone over again and again until every thing tied up and vital evidence was not overlooked. We know they neglected the children what could be worse than that if they are inocent of any other wrong doing.

This is about a 3 year old little girl and awkward qustions need to be answered sadly when a child dies from cot death the police ask terible questions of the devestated parents if they think it may have been foul play (which I think is dreadful) but if you take your heart out of it I suppose it must be done to rule them out.

There are no winners in any of this if they are released from their arguido status it wont bring Madeleine home and if they remain arguidos it wont bring her home either it is so sad.

The thought of my child in the hands of a peadophile ring would not give me hope of her being recovered I would spend the rest of my life tortured at how she must have suffered.

IF the Tapas lot have told lies and covered up something and failed to disclose information that could help solve this case, then they will have to live with it, but so far 11 months on they appear to able to do so. I will not have any respect for individuals who will not and have not fully co-operated, and then expect sympathy, understanding and total belief in their integrity and innocence. This whole arcane case defies belief. I want to believe that the case will be solved but I cannot.

And what would M3 do with the evidence they have no leads for all the money that has been spent on them (waste of space)...

Good afternoon all

So, we are supposed to believe no watches or mobiles between the 9 tapas on the evening of 3rd May. Dream on Clarence. Firstly what about the multiple text messasges Gerry was seen making. Also, how could the tapas in their statements to the police be so confident as to the prescise time they checked on their children.

Funny, I have looked at several photos and each one shows Gerry wearing a watch and also Kate.

Could I ask a favour, I am unable to get on the McCannfiles or Find Maddie site, would someone have a try for me so that I can establish if it is a problem at my end.

Thanks

Hi Hope and all other dieters

Hope, I strongly advise and urge you to avoid the use of the so-called "lemonade" or "master cleanse" diet, which is nothing more than a severe starvation diet which has been in and out of fashion since the 1940s. It usually makes its appearance after some 'celeb' has achieved rapid weight loss for a photo shoot or film role etc. The calories being consumed while on this diet equate to approximately a third to a half of those consumed by the average concentration camp prisoner in WW11 and we all know what happened to them!

Additionally, the diet has been shown scientifically to lead to an increase in toxins, a rapid regaining of body mass as fat due to binge eating and abnormal muscle metabolism once the diet is stopped, unstable blood sugar levels, possible damage to both the kidneys and liver and multiple other metabloic derangements, some of which are potentially fatal.

Hi all last night I was out to dinner with a friends, one of which was a detective with over 30 year experience. I asked him what he thought about this case and he replied. He has not been following it and even if he had he would not take much notice of anything in the newspapers giving either side of the story. He said he has holidayed in PDL man years ago and whilst he thinks the Portuguese police do a good job he feels that PDL itself was not geared to a quicky response on a case of this type. No more so than any sleepy village in cornwall or somewhere. They have to wait for assistance too. He has been involved in cases similar to this and says there is the "golden hour" that is the first hour when you have a chance if you put everything in place quick enough to apprehend the offender. He said IF as reported the McCanns took a long while to call the police they wasted valuable time. Better to call them first and apologise if you later find the child asleep somewhere else. He was not however blaming the McCanns, he blamed no one. I asked if he thought she was still alive and he said she could well be, it is not impossible. I asked if he thought the McCanns could be responsible, and his answer was what I expected. You are innocent until proven guilty, but at the same time police assume that ANYBODY could be guilty. I mentioned the forensics and he just shrugged his shoulders. He said without sight of the forensic report himself he would not even think of commenting on that. I asked does it normally take this long to get the rogatary letters approved, and he said if they are apprehending someone it can be done in one hour. Had an interesting chat with him but being the true cop that he is he never has a personal opinion about things like this and I think that is because he is trained to consider everything and only act on facts he has personally. Not very interesting to you all I know but best I can do today. I am off now so will love you and leave you amgios/amigas

This no watch and mobile phone lark of the evening of the 3rd of May 2007. re Mithell. Are people really supposed to believe that grown men and women would all not have watches, and agree independently not to wear them, like a childish club and then achieve total conformity. My wife or my children do not do everything I ask them and vice versa, so we are supposed to believe Mitchell's nonsense. the next question is why would these people not wear watches, on holiday yes, but still on duty for their young children?....apparently not.

Its really so that they can claim why their time lines are inaccurate

Trepidacious would be a fair description, yes.

I would assume you have the commoner (sliding) type of H.H.? Is it possible that it was not asthma, but a chronic low-grade inflammation of the upper airways due to reflux and aspiration? We have this problem in some neonates, especially the prems, who get aspiration pneumonitis or pneumonia. It's how many rock and movie stars have died after a heavy 'session' too!

If CM wants people to believe that none of the Tapas 9 wore watches or took mobiles when they left their children to go out drinking and eating he must think the public are idiots. The only way that could be true is if the Tapas 9 agreed on this course of action as a group! And if they did that, then they have added even more guilt to their actions of leaving their children alone because how could they possible know how much time had passed between each check, unless they had their eye on the cafe clock all the time, which I very much doubt. If there was no such agreement made between them, the law of averages says that at least some of them must have worn watches and taken their mobiles! Every time CM opens his mouth he put his foot right in it!

Docmac,

Could be...although whatever it was came on when I first moved to Surrey and partook of the 'healthy country air'; had severe coughing fits at night, and was put onto the steroid things having been told that my system was used to common or garden pollution (born and bred in London), but couldn't handle the amount of pollens in country areas.

The consultant told me he thinks the asthma happened as a consequence of the acid reflux. (Am presuming it's the more common HH - 3 cms! Who said size doesn't matter?)

Anyway, have stopped the asthma meds on his advice, and yesterday walked quickly up a steep hill which normally makes me wheeze, with no ill effects at all (other than aching legs!). Am going to the asthma clinic in a couple of weeks to review things.

However, for the time being, Hurrah!

Have you an MP3/4 player? Does listening to music help you?

nancy said...

Viv -

Your article is a real eye opener today. I had no idea of the statistics involved involved in the murder of children and am staggered that so many are one or other of the parents, family or friends of the family! We who just adore our children cannot conceive of how anyone let alone a parent or member of the family could be so barbaric as to harm a child! I find it especially sad that a woman, after carrying her baby for 9 months, could afterwards do something like that, and I definitely think that a mother who kills her child must be mentally unhinged to so. In fact I would go so far as to say that anyone who could harm a child must have a really psychotic side to their nature. It goes completely against normal human nature and behaviour.

docmac said...

Claudia

I understand so :-(

LGC

Actually went to read a bit about it. Interesting stuff. Reflux commoner in asthmatics, even without H.H. PPI therapy results in 20% improvement in lung function in these people. Still must be to do with the reduction in acid aspiration I reckon. Adult medicine a bit hazy after 17 years, or is it something more sinister, like dementia? :-))))

Cláudia said...

She's been diagnosed over ten years ago, I think. She has to have a balanced diet and she often takes medication for the reflux. Apart from that, she deals with it quite well. :-)

LittleGreyCell said...

Docmac,

Thanks for reading up on it. I've done some reading too, although in a different way to you!

What's staggering to me is that when I was on (strong) asthma medication, I still wheezed going up that hill and had to stop several times to get my breath. Yesterday, having not taken my asthma meds since Thursday, I did it in one go, not even panting.

Now I'm feeling bad that I've put seven years worth of steroids into my body for questionable purposes.

Am wondering how my hay fever will be affected now too - I have what I understand to be a 'typical' asthma profile, with a few allergies here and there.

Might also be connected to coeliac disease - am awaiting results from the biopsy, but this could explain certain symptoms, too, should it apply to me. It's astonishing to me how many of these things are connected.

(Could be that the coeliac thing started everything off in the first place, since it really buggers up the digesetive system, apparently).

It's not dementia, Doc, it's the menopause! (Or perhaps the womanopause).

nancy said...

LGC -

I hope you are feeling better and not too cold in your part of Surrey - a country I lived in myself as a child for a while!

The People - a nasty little tabloid - got themselves a scoop it seems! Not that it's told us anything we don't already know. The McCanns were never going to be charged with even child neglect, let alone something more serious - their powerful lobby of friends has seen to that!

So we can expect to see them getting more wealthy by the day with the offers of films, books, magazine interviews, television, radio, you name it, and who knows, maybe a Kate perfume and Gerry aftershave next!! I'll have to think up an appropriate name for their brand!

It really does make one want to reach for the sick bag as Viv said!

LittleGreyCell said...

Can you get homeopathic medicines over where you are?

Nancy,

I'm very well, many thanks! Don't feel ill in the slightest (but do feel a little chilly today, what with it being April and all that!)

I'm fully convinced that this is where I've been going wrong in my career; haven't lost any children on holiday, have never been under suspicion by the police, don't ask little old ladies to give me money.

Jane Austin's career really took off after she died.

Really need to think of an angle, here...any ideas, just pop them in a envelope, guys.

How are you, Nancy? Warm I hope (the snow's all but gone here now).

LittleGreyCell said...

This morning out walking there were swarms of beetles around - must have blown in from somewhere and it was all we could do to avoid treading on them there were so many!

Off to have a cuppa now - don't forget to think up a name for the Kate perfume and Gerry after shave - my imagination has gone at the moment, but you are more witty than me!

If the 'People' article is true and the McCanns are really not going to be taken to task for their actions, what will happen if someone else decides to leave their child alone and in doing so their child disappears! Will they also be allowed to walk away from any charge, or will they be arrested immediately?

I think the people of Portugal will have a few things to say following any complete discharge of the McCanns after all the disruption and cost their neglectful actions have caused their country! I have a feeling the PJ's will be an unpopular bunch there too!

I think it is just this couple, after all nobody should blame the police if they are not charged, they have been hindered and delayed every step of the way by the Government interference, this has never happened before in an investigation, PM providing one of his own staff, CM to be their PR man to control the media and ensure this case never came to trial, we will know in the next couple of weeks whether or not this will have worked and they will be cleared as has always been the plan, thats my opinion, time will tell as to whether or not it is correct........Lizzy

I was very interested in your comments regarding asthma.

I too moved to the country and started with dreadful sinus problems and a wheazy chest. After several consultations I was also put on inhalers and steroids. My symptoms have persisted for several years until finally a consultant decided to operate on my sinuses. To cut a long story short, after surgery he told me to try and wean myself off the steroids. I did and with great results. I did alot of research and time and time again found information regarding the pesticide sprays that the farmers use on their fields to be a common cause of asthma and hayfever.

Sorry to go off topic but found your comments interesting.

Di said...

Lizzy

I agree with your above comments. This case has been totally hindered from day one to make sure the McCanns do not face any charges. What hidden agenda could there possibly be?

Do you think it maybe nothing more than Gordon Brown wanting to save his reputation!!!

I am at a loss what to think anymore, so many twists and turns nothing surprises me. However I hardly see any mention of the fact that Maddie is still missing, it is now all about the Amber Alert.

nancy said...

Lizzy -

I agree with you totally, and I myself would in no way criticize the PJ's who to my mind have bent over backwards to try and solve the disappearance of Maddie, with very little help from the McCanns it seems. Let's hope they can move on further with their investigations after questioning the tapas 7 and the others!

CM seems to be running the the McCann Campaign to his and their advantage, and it makes one wonder just why he has such sway with the media and the government. Perhaps he knows something that would be a time bomb if brought into the public domain!!

hope4truth said...

Oh Anon on STs site thinks that we all need to lie about what we do and says I will soon say I am a rocket scientist....

A rocket scientist I dont need to lie about what I do what would be the point in that and what does it matter anyway?

Sad sad people why do they worry so about us???

I note RP has said Viv's parrot is living in filthy conditions with live wires nearby and she is thiking about goint to the RSPCA about it. I am sure they will be kind to her should she decide to go with the picture. Just goes to show how she likes to spin lets face it anyone who looks at the picture can see that the room is being re plastered and if the speaker wire is bitten through the worse that will happen is Viv wont hear Pink Floyd though it??? So although it is obviously a healthy parrot and it is not filthy RP thinks saying it is people will believe this lie...

Also why threaten to do something if you belive an animal is being mis treated you do not use it to try and spin some points you do something about it...

Same with children if you suspect the parents are at the bar and the children are alone you call the police and social services you dont hope that all will be ok.

What strange people they are having dreams about us and profiling us (well to what they want us to be like)LOL

Whats wrong with being a Rocket Scientist anyway was it supposed to be an insult???

I am not clever enough to be a rocket scientist anyway I cant even use my daughters ITUNES card without having to fill in my CC details I am sure if I was a RS I would not have a problem :o)

Shall I give them a clue to what I do????? Nahh they will only be jealous LOL

nancy said...

Your second paragraph makes the same point about the government that I made in my second paragraph to Lizzy!

There is certainly more to this case than any of us can imagine! Just why are the McCanns treated as VIP's when another parent whose child went missing after being left along would certainly face touch criticism and punishment!

I am sure many people are asking the same question but they don't get heard!

Off to make some tea - back later!

nancy said...

Hope4truth -

Just keep them guessing about what you do. You are obviously a wonderful Mum and no career can ever top that! The way we bring up our children forms the basis of what the world will be like to live in when we are long gone!

All I know is it doesn't take rocket science to know they are bored stiff with each other's comments because they have nobody to argue with as they all agree with each other! At least on our blog we allow other people to say what they feel, including their silly anons, without deleting them, unless they use foul language and insult people of course, which is more than can be said of theirs!

Unknown said...

Hi All

How strange the Pros took such great exception to factual research confirming that 95% of children under 5 who are murdered know their killer and that 30% of those killers are the mom and 31% the dad.

I was interested to see details of the Portuguese TV report..Dr Rebelo and his officers will sit in on 24 witnesses being questioned. This does sound far more capable of belief.

As for Clarence deciding to tell us they had no watches or mobiles the day before the PJ arrived...has be completely lost the plot?

The People got their crystal ball out and told us what the end product of the investigation will be before it even happened..did they lose the plot too, or do they just like to print rubbish for ignorant people to quote on their blog, without naming its source, of course...

Hope flagged up Gerry's inane blogging in May including

how they use the creche in similar way to how they "use" nursery at home..yes we know Gerry to dump your possessions oh I mean little children so that you can get on with life.. a further entry then states in between 5 and 7 they like to go for a walk to get some quality time alone..after they dumped the kids all day that is..no doubt he was "using" his friends and relatives to read the twins a story, bathe them and put them to bed, whilst he and Kate got some more quality time..just prior to popping off on a private jet, no doubt for yet more "quality time" Kate and Gerry clearly cannot imagine quality time with their little children present..as he himself makes very clear. Meanwhile he seemed to forget his little missing daughter being abused by paedophiles ....maybe he lost his watch and his mobile...and forgot to send himself a little reminder

hope4truth said...

Hello Lizzy

If a child goes missing in England they investigate the family every time even setting up press confrences to see how the family acts...

But the McCanns were given a spin dr and were allowed to set questions...

So obviously Madeleine was not as important as all the other children who go missing which I find astounding....

The parents if inocent did not need any protection or spin most people I know who were talking about it in the days after she went missing were all saying I cant belive she was left alone so we all knew they had negelcted the children.

Madeleine deserves the truth and if that means her parents are cleared of everything but neglect then fine if there is evidence of foul play she deserves justice to be done. If she was taken then I hope one day the scum that took her is found and punished.

Kate owed it to her child to answer all questions put to her and I find it very strange that she did not answer most of them especialy when CM says they would be willing to go back and do so.

This might sound awful but, I hope Robert Murat, if innocent, will have his arguido status lifted and I would just love to hear what he has to say. Afterall, he sat in on early translation of statements and with Max Clifford at the helm it could get very interesting indeed. imo.

Unknown said...

Whilst hearing from Mr Murat at this stage would be very interesting, he would be in serious trouble if he starts opening his mouth and prejudicing this investigation and the prosecution of Kate and Gerry, but his time will come, just like the Daily Express's will too.

They are also stroppy at times and drive me nuts with their bickering at each other and have untidy bedrooms which I nag about constantly but the good times far outweigh the bad times and I will miss it all when they finaly move on in life.

The Pros like to insult us by saying over and over we think we are perfect parents (is there such a thing? My Mum is wonderful but certainly not perfect and neither am I) maybe they mean that because we put our children first and find it strange that a child would be neglected for a night out that we think we are perfect far from it but one thing I do is take responsibility for my actions soemthing K&G have not done and if they are inocent of anything else they need to or they will never move on....

You are right they are bored they like to pretend we are evil and vile so they can have the moral high ground they are welcome to it if it makes them feel better.

I believe they think we profess to be perfect parents because we loudly proclaim we would not go on holiday and make a little mistake...leaving three little children alone with the door open, with not a clue even what the time was, as a result accidentally losing one of our children and coming home a family of four instead of five.

If there was a spectrum of conduct that made you a less than perfect parent, that must surely be very near the top. I am sure our own acts and omission come much lower down the spectrum, hence we did not "lose" one!

Sorry - the husband came home early from his travels (how inconsiderate!).

Have you tried eating the GI way? It's so good - you eat when you're hungry so your blood sugar stays constant. And it's surprising how little food you need to top yourself up.

Ian Marber's (the Food Doctor) books are very good; he's a well-respected nutritionist, and he's put in a load of imaginative recipes too.

The premise for meals is based roughly on one quarter of the plate being protein, one quarter complex carbohydrate, and one half veggies. The snacks are all healthy and interesting, too. (Constant salad is just so boring!) I find I think about food every couple of hours, and a typical snack might be something like a couple of rice cakes with guacamole (the cats obviously prefer guacovole), some yoghurt and fruit, houmous and crudities...

(You'll be onto the fact by now that I love my food, and I have a large collection of cookery books. It's just a shame that I'm a bit of a hit and miss cook! Although I haven't yet killed anyone. Wounded, maybe, but not killed...)

Hiya Hope

Fancy me not only allowing him his freedom but even letting him have two large cages covered in toys, food and climbing frames etc. so he can play, exercise and explore his property. He is a good boy and goes into his sleeping quarters at night and when a fox looked in at the window and terrified him I rushed down to comfort and cuddle him, being within earshot..truly wicked indeed.

I think every family in the land will echo what you said, especially the fact that none of us is perfect parents! Also I don't know any children these days who keep their bedroom tidy - I know mine never did!

When my son was a litle boy, I was feeding my daughter who was younger and he somehow managed to put a chair against the back door and open it without my knowing. I ran around like a deranged chicken to all the neighbours and then ran a couple of miles looking all over the place for him. He was eventually found sitting on a river bank as cool as a cucumber! How I didn't have a heart attack I don't know - I never realised I could run so fast!! Yes, accidents happen to children, but when they do it's usually due to something beyond our control, not because we left them alone on purpose to mix with our 'into each other' pals!!

Sorry, been greeting the absent husband.

Warm and windy sounds good to me today! Mind you, I don't mind cold and sunny as long as the warm is on its way sometime soon!

How about, for Kate's perfume: Enigma? And for Gerry's aftershave: Gerry Boss?

That must have been terrible I bet you felt terrible even though it was no ones fault...

My eldest disapeared from my Nan's Bungalow when she was 2 I was 7 months pregnant at the time and we had gone for Sunday Lunch she was watching a video on minute my Husband was in the garden and I went to the toilet and the front door was open all three of us ran in diffrent directions (and my Nan was not one for running) and within a minute my husband had found her...

We spent the whole meal asking how she turned the key with each of blaming ourselves for allowing it to happen (while she ate her dinner without a care in the world)...

If anything had happend to her I would never have forgiven myself...

As for the bedrooms I just go in and blitz now when they are at school just got to learn to stop wasting everyones time nagging now LOL xxx

Their behaviour to me is so unnatural. 13 Days after Madeleine disappeared they brought their other children to the Kids Club.

If I was in their position (and knew that I had nothing to do with my daughter's disappearance and that she must have been abducted) I would suspect everyone (also the nannies) and would be terrified to take my children to the Kids Club.

And like you said before I would suspect my friends also.

Hiya Hope

Like you I have stories of how fast moving toddlers disappeared and we went into a panic. I am sure almost all parents do!

That is tbe big difference though, isn't it, we were there, we were sober, we immediately knew they were missing, immediately started looking for them and almost immediately recovered them..just like normal parents do!

POLICE INFORMATION & DNA RESULTS -

Madeleine McCann DNA 'an accurate match'
By Gordon Rayner, Caroline Gammell and Nick Britten
Last Updated: 2:27am BST 12/09/2007Page 1 of 2

DNA samples that are a "100 per cent match" to Madeleine McCann have been found in her parents' hire car and holiday apartment, it has been claimed.

Friends who are convinced of the couple's innocence
Confusion that surrounds the fateful hours
Have your say: Are the McCanns right to return home? | Read comments

The Portuguese police's theory is apparently that Madeleine was killed by accident by one or both of her parents

Sources close to the case said the traces - understood to be blood - were being treated by Portuguese detectives as strong evidence that Madeleine died in the apartment before her body was placed in the car.

Police in the Algarve apparently now believe they have enough evidence to charge her parents, Kate and Gerry, with "accidentally" killing the four-year-old and hiding her body. A file on the case will today be sent to a prosecutor who could order the couple to return to Portugal to face charges this week.

The McCanns, who were named last week as official suspects in the case, have claimed that they were being "framed" over their daughter's disappearance 131 days ago.

But a source close to the Portuguese investigation said that the prevailing mood among detectives was that: "The parents have a lot of explaining to do."

advertisement
The source claimed that two DNA samples found in the McCanns' hire car - one apparently a full match to Madeleine and one partial - were of a type that suggested they had come directly from her body, rather than from clothes she had worn.

The development came as:

Social workers and police met to discuss the welfare of the McCanns' two-year-old twins, who could be placed on an "at-risk" register.
Police in Praia da Luz were preparing to search the villa where the McCanns had been staying until Sunday.
Kate McCann faced fresh slurs in the Portuguese media, with claims that she was aggressive towards her children and sometimes "out of control".
The McCanns were given police advice on how to deal with hate mail after a backlash against them gathered pace in Britain.
The McCanns have vowed to fight to clear their names, and hired two of the country's leading solicitors, Michael Caplan QC and Angus McBride, to advise them.

Sources close to the investigation revealed that the DNA evidence - analysed by the Forensic Science Service in Britain - was regarded by Portuguese police as crucial.

A sample that was a full match to Madeleine's DNA was allegedly found on the windowsill of the McCanns' apartment at the Ocean Club in Praia da Luz. Although the nature of the sample was not disclosed, previous reports claimed that blood had been found by sniffer dogs.

One Portuguese newspaper claimed that "biological fluids" with an 80 per cent match to Madeleine were found under the carpet in the boot of the McCanns' hire car, which was rented 25 days after she disappeared.

Forensic experts in the UK have pointed out that if the samples found in the car were hair or skin they would be of little evidential value as they could have rubbed off Madeleine's toys or clothing.

But there were fresh reports claiming that both samples were blood, and one source close to the inquiry told The Daily Telegraph that the nature of the samples led police to believe that they had come from Madeleine's body being placed in the car.

Full coverage: The search for Madeleine McCann
The Portuguese police's theory is apparently that Madeleine was killed by accident by one or both of her parents, and that her body was hidden before being disposed of a month later using the hire car.

The McCanns have reacted with fury to the claims, accusing the police of a "stitch-up" and pointing out that they could not have moved a body when the eyes of the world were constantly upon them in the weeks after Madeleine's disappearance.

DianeH on Supertroll's blog is very upset I suggested there is something wrong with her parenting style and has posted this, below, to show what a normal parent she is, whose little boy likes to play in dog pooh (because he is a normal 2 year old) and who she smacks through his nappy etc. This post made me feel physically sick and I really wish I had not read it. Who would leave dog pooh lyeing around and suggest it is normal for children to play with it..it can even blind them who would suggest any form of physical punishment is appropriate for a 2 year old, or any child for that matter...the attitudes of some people to parenting is so distorted it is truly terrifying.
Pity those poor little children..the parents of whom think the McCanns are just great. I can see why.

--------

My front yard is fully fenced with pool fencing because I live on a river and dont wish to loose my children to drowning.
Little boy was on his own for about 5 minutes in a fully fenced yard which he cannot get out of.
We keep him out of the front yard because he likes to play in the dog pooh, dog food and eat sand. He is after all a normal 2 you boy.
My partner, who is a very caring person did acknowledge that he had left the gate open but hey, it was an internal gate, into a fully fenced yard. So shoot him.
I believe in smacking, I find reasoning with a 2 yo to be a waste of time. But I luckily usually only have to give a tap on the nappy to get what I want. No pain involved. I dont believe in giving a child a hiding. But I also believe that a parent does their children no favours by not discplining the children and teaching them how to behave. Even when the child is only 2.

When my children were young we moved house, and our new neighbour was a social worker.

Believe me, you would not wish to know what we witnessed. No amount of reporting by ourselves or my parents and friends etc., made the slightest bit of difference. Some of their comments were, you could have been mistaken, you probably misunderstood the situation etc., sadly I am afraid we gave up.

Our neighbours moved not long after, and goodness knows what happened to their two poor children.

We as a family still wonder if we could have done more, but I don't think so. IMO ranks closed...

Di,

Thank you, Di! That's really nice of you. It's great to converse with you too!

One place where I lived in London backed onto a railway line. At dead of night, three times a week, the Nuclear Waste train came through. Of course, the authorities tried to keep it quiet, but people found out and created so much trouble that they eventually curtailed the operation. (It was a leafy part of town where there were many middle class professionals who knew how to protest. Just wonder if this affected the outcome somewhat).

But it just goes to show, wherever you are, there are circumstances beyond your control...

SwedishMum said...

Evening Viv and all!

It was interesting to read that so high a number as 95% of "murdered" children under 5 knows the person who killed him/her. We've been talking about 75-80% here I think - but those numbers may include elder children as well.

As for your Dianeh-quote, Viv, she shall be happy that she doesn't live in Sweden - it's a crime to smack your children here (and rightly so, in my opinion).

Unknown said...

Hi Swedishmum

I firmly believe that it should be completely illegal to smack children here too. As the law stands parents are prosecuted when they cause actual bodily harm. Our law should also consider the mental harm that children suffer by being attacked by people they love.

I get want I want when I smack him, there is no point trying to reason with a two year old...there should be very strong laws to tell parents something different to this..it is sheer ignorant bullying of a little child who actually you can reason with, if you are not a hopelessly inadequate and bullying person. I think it emphasises the point of my post, these people look upon their chilren as possessions to do with as they please, they do not even realise that it is a breach of human rights to assault and abuse people, they just forget that children are people. Would Diane smack the shopkeeper who did not immediately understand what she wanted? No, perhaps it would occur to her in that case, she may get arrested for assault! but sees her own child in a different way, she can assault him any time she likes.

Those are her own words, if she is joking then it is a pretty sick thing to joke about.

We had a dog when my children were little. There would have been no question of me suggesting they liked to eat his pooh or his food and catch god knows what. They never got the chance to do that! We did not allow our dog to pooh all over the "yard" and just leave it there as a health hazard either! I have always taken a pride in my Farden and my kids and their diet for that matter, which did include bangers and chips but not.......(!)

I am sure some posters would say anything to put the neglect on the back burner as CM said most British parent have or would do it...

I will never need to diet again now every time I feel like eating something bad I will think of this poor little boy and wont be able to eat....

Hiya Hope

Somehow having read that I cannot face the thought of food at the moment either. Poor little boy, it is all about a total dereliction of parental duty, I think, a way to try and make the McCanns look right, silly Madeleine, if only she had given the man a good smack, after all she was in charge, not her parents! They are sick and perverse in the extreme, sometimes I just cannot believe what they write.

Unknown said...

More pearls of wisdom from DianeH:

"To be a heart surgeon you must be focused, determined, articulate, as well as incredibly intelligent. Gerry is all of these things and he applies these skills to his search for Madeleine as well as to his practice. "

One small problem with that, Gerry is not a heart surgeon!

Can they ever speak the truth or are they really that ignorant? If you are reading Diane, he is a Cardiologist, you could google to find out what that means..

I see that the interviews of the Tapas is to take place in London now
according to the mail.

ˇhttp://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/liv...n_page_id=1770

The whole thing is voluntary and witnesses can leave at any time apparently. I am sure its just a minor thing really the McCanns have more important things to do this week, after all its only their daughter that its all about. I suppose its the PJ giving people a chance to tell all or at least clarify, I hate using that word now as it has a whole new meaning, Clarriefy means spin speak from now on. So I guess the Tapas have a decision to make as they may be allowed to say what they have to say and leave and be recalled under caution if its shown that what they have stated is untrue.

atardi said...

Di,

It made no difference but you have done the right thing.

hope4truth said...

Joe

I just hope they all tell the truth because if they lie they dont know what evidence there may be and if it is not 100% at the moment the way DNA moves forward in a few years there may be damming evidence...

If they are telling the truth then they do not need stupid comments like none of them had watches or mobiles when all of them have given times of when they checked especialy JT...

If they are lying this year may have been easy as they are still close but as they drift apart it will get harder worrying that someone will crack and confess...

And Madeleine deserves the truth...

Cant disagre with them on that point of course they do and if this is what happend then I hope the scum that did this is caught but there are thousands of these sick twisted perverts out there which is why you should never ever neglect your children and leaving a door unlocked is just taking the piss.

When my daughter escaped from my Nans house half of me was thinking she could be knocked over and killed the other half was thinking she could be taken by some sick pervert.

Despicable people it calls us why? What is dispicable about wanting justice for a child? It could just prove her parents inocent of all but neglect then again they could have done that themselves had Kate answered questions and where will they be when the PJ arives? Out of the country talking about Amber Alert not even around in case they can help now that is despicable.

As witnesses obviously the TAPAS cannot be arrested and pinned to their seats as it were. However, if they had refused to co-operate they could have been charged with obstruction of a serious enquiry and likewise if they continue to lie they could be charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

I wonder how much sleep Jane will get tonight as she ponders her choices, tomorrow.

As to the location of the interviews, the PJ wanted location and timings kept confidential so it seems to me the press in UK have been doing what they are good at, taking a pot shot. First we were told they would be interviewed in their home area, then in Leicester now in London. Truth they dont have a clue, oh and then the Mail do a Daily Express, now you see it, now you dont. What a joke. Mind you they can never be as bad as The People, fantasy rag for the uneducated idiots who believe the gospel according to the great gerrymandering one and of course his fellow conspirator he who must also be obeyed and believed implicity the many pinked shirted one, just in case no one noticed him perhaps?

Portuguese detectives to quiz 'Tapas Seven' in London about Maddy's disappearance
By VANESSA ALLEN and DAVID WILKES - More by this author » Last updated at 18:10pm on 6th April 2008

Portuguese detectives arrive in Britain tomorrow ahead of fresh police interviews of Kate and Gerry McCann's friends.

The so-called Tapas Seven who dined with the couple on the night their daughter Madeleine disappeared are among a list of 24 people due to be grilled by detectives over the next four days.

But the McCanns themselves will not face new interrogations and are due to leave Britain during the Portuguese police visit.
