Hi Everyone, yes this is the second post I have made today but I thought it was such an important one it should get prominence in its own thread, so that it is easy to see. Posts can sometimes get buried when we get 700 posts as we did yesterday. However, if you want to continue commenting on the second post on the left that is fine, I just wanted you to all see this, and see how disingenuous the McCanns are jumping on a bandwagon and trying to make out they are forging new ground to safeguard children. My middle son said to me recently well would you want them to babysit your grandchildren mom? I wont tell you my reply..(!)

Not only of the existence of competent organisations to deal with this issue but of the disingenuous behaviour of the McCanns in casting around looking for a platform to suggest they are decent parents and sell themselves to the higher bidder bleating on about it. We would have much preferred to see Kate and Gerry McCann going around in tee shirts saying, never ever leave your tiny tots alone, we lost Maddie because of our stupid behaviour. PLEASE do not make the same mistake. Of course that is not how they lost Maddie though, is it and just like typical serious criminals the last thing they are going to do is take resposibility and actually admit they did anything wrong at all. Instead, again, just like typical criminals they continue to try and cast themselves as the victims. From the very outset Gerry rushed off to the States saying to my complete shock and amazement at the time, he wanted to "focus on the wider political issues". I really never could stand this man! • Gerry lied about where his wallet was apparently stolen, Waterloo station and then near Downing Street.
• They lied when they said abductions like this (snatched sleeping from a hotel or apartment) happen a lot, they don’t
• They lied about the fund not being used for personal matters and then it paid their mortgage
• Kate lied about coming into contact with 6 dead people in her 1 day a week job as GP to explain the cadaver scent on her clothing
• They lied about Cuddlecat having the scent of Madeleine and being comforting and then as soon as they heard the dogs were coming Kate announced she had washed it because it smelled of sun tan lotion. Making forensic analysis of it much harder.
• They lied about the crime scene, about how many people came into the crime scene, walked around and contaminated it, again making investigation much harder and destroying much evidence according to detectives
• Gerry lied about the existence of the tennis bag
• They lied about going to sue media companies
• They lied about the film deal
• They lied about sacking Justine McGuinness and her subsequent departure
• They lied about returning to Portugal for questioning voluntarily and now will only do if their Arguido status is lifted. They have also appointed General Pinochets extradition-fighting lawyers.

• They lied to the local catholic priest (who now claims he was deceived by the McCanns) and then deserted him for the Anglican reverend instead and never, ever took confession apparently
• They said a lie detector test would clear them and now refuse to take one.
• They lied for months saying they were not suspects in the disappearance of their daughter and were then both made formal Arguido /suspects under Portuguese law
• They lied about the possibility of sedation and then claimed ridiculously that perhaps the Abductor had sedated all 3 of their children before making off with Madeleine
• Gerry lied about Kate’s ability to cope with three children on her own when her own Parents and her own diary say different
• They lied about the amount of alcohol consumed that night
• In another lie about cooperating they refused to provide their mobile phone records to the PJ
• Kate lied explaining away the scent of death of Cuddlecat because she took the child's 4th birthday present cuddly toy to work and exposed it to contact with 6 dead people
• They lied how everything had been so normal up until May 3rd when it is now known that Mark Warner staff had received complaints from other holidaymakers because of their home alone children crying and seeming in distress. This also brought Mark Warner staff looking for the McCanns on the night of the 2nd and insisting they attend to their distressed children.
• They lied about 90 minute tennis lesson with several versions of the story being put out by official sources within the McCann Camp
• They and at least one friend lied about Madeleine’s last meal on May 3rd.
• They lied about the abductor entering through the window and then changed it to the patio doors.
• Matthew Oldfield lied about his check on the McCann children changing his story not once but twice
• Kate lied about physically searching for her daughter but then admits to not have done so in a TV interview
• McCanns claim they were the first to arrive to tapas on May 3rd; Rachel Oldfield claims they were the last to arrive
• Despite being in Rome and Madrid and claiming to be spending the rest of the week quietly at home in PDL with the twins, the hire car in its first week clocked up over 500 miles
• Gerry lied about his checks on the children in the apartment, at first having claimed to have entered several rooms later then claiming the abductor must have hiding in the apartment while he was there
• Gerry and O'Brien have lied about their locations when holding a mobile phone call together on June 10th as verified by phone records and pinpointing
• Jane Tanner has changed her statements, arrival time at tapas, direction of travel, checking times for night of May 3rd. Najova Chekaya who joined the tapas 9 at the table at 9:30 states nobody left the table until Kate went to check. Putting Oldfield's, O'Briens, Tanner's and Gerry McCann's statements into question.

I have also added two more "lies" and variations on two of the above "lies":
• Madeleine's Fund lied when they said that the McCanns had not asked to use the funds to pay their legal bills. Proof of this is the quote from Gerry McCann, “It seems like a disaster that we’ve got this huge donated fund and now we’re not allowed to use it for legal costs because we’re under suspicion."
• The lie over Gerry McCann's injury from a torn Achilles tendon (the reason for a cancelled tennis lesson) on May 3, when he was seen running up a steep hill shortly afterwards.
• Kate McCann should be added to the lie over Gerry McCann's faith. Susan Healy had reported during the Portuguese TV interview that Kate had called and asked her to get in contact with the priest who had married them and who had baptised Madeleine. She says she found this odd, as she wouldn´t have described themselves or Kate and Gerry as devout Catholics.
• The lie over the reason for the "death scent" being found on Kate's jeans. She said that she had worn them while in contact with six cadavers in her general practice before the family went on holiday. Those particular jeans were said to been purchased in Portugal.

Just watched the Skynews video link of the Ambassadorial departure to Brussels for Missing children. K supposed to be too frail to return to Portugal, yet G leaves her to take her own case up the escalator, gets on the train before her, she lifts her case on whilst he strokes his ego. She sits looking like a startled bunny in the headlights whilst he waffles on stroking his ego once again, IMHO. She looked scared. I almost felt sorry for her, then I remembered she left her children alone in a holiday flat for her own selfish pleasure on the 3/5/07 and as a result her daughter vanished and today the parents that neglected all 3 children head off to Brussels to latch onto something credible. Get your backsides over to PT and do the right thing, if you are innocent why the delay, delay, delay. Looks like you have no choice according to news in PT, the suspect status not to be lifted until a trial occurs.

Thanks for the infor of the 3 arguidos site, but I don't think I'll bother to look at the photos. I can't stand looking at that CM, he gives me the creeps - I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him actually. He comes across as an obnoxious man and so full of himself!
As for Kate and Gerry, considering their beloved Madeleine is still missing after almost a year and they haven't a clue what she's going through, they don't look s though they have aged one iota throughout all this!

One thing Puzzles me (well many do but this one for now)...
Shannons Mum has been charged with neglect and abandonment as well as other things.
Now if she was involved in the fake abduction (I say IF dont want to be sued)then Shannon was taken to a step great uncles house so with in reason she had an adult caring for her.
And as a result Karen is charged with Neglect?
Kate and Gerry leave 3 children 3 and under alone and Madeleine is still missing but when you mention the word Neglect you get a load of tosh about how the parents are suffering (If she is missing I have no doubt they are and although the pictures on the train they look very happy we dont see what goes on behind closed doors)...
But they are as guilty as neglect if not more so as they did not leave her with an adult and are still saying it was ok to do this (or at least not saying it was bloody stupid and totally wrong)..
I hope nothing happend to Shannon while with this man and if her Mother is guilty then she deserves all that is comming to her (I am pleased the police have distributed leaflets) that is one community that must be feeling very let down after all the searching and time they commited to trying to find her.

1. Psychiatrists to potentially see if Kate fit to travel to Portugal for recontruction; perhaps Pinochet's extradiction lawyer will try to play the "health" card again:
I do fear that doctors may close ranks. In Ireland, a few short months ago, a consultant psychiatrist, who killed her own 16 year old daughter by drowning her whilst she was having a bath, got off on "insanity". Her fellow Irish psychiatrists all told the court she was in a state of madness, and she got completely off (no sentence, just mental treatment). It would be quite a struggle to kill a 16 year old girl (what a hoffifying experience to be aware that your own mother is trying to murder you, particularly with the cognitive abilities of a 16-year old) , so she would have had time go think again, or to "snap out" of her psychosis. I just hope the medical profession won't side with KAte & Gerry. Though, on second thoughts, as I write, when you see how they have brought the medical profession into disrepute, perhaps they will NOT let her off the hook though surely Mr Pinochet's lawyer will know a corrupt doctor. I know from my own medical connections that a doctor cannot say for sure whether a patient is in pain or not, so I imagine mental pain is even harder to be imperical about.
2. Satalite technology: I am delighted to hear that they are using satalite technology now to help track the Tapas 9 movements.
A friend of mine is a Geographical Information Systems expert, and actually mapped Botswana via computer and satalite technology.
- the satalites orbit the earth every 12 mins or so, so they would be able to get a fair picture the movements of the Tapas 9 that evening.
- for those who fear the Tapas 7 would be too far away from the satalite to be seen, as the Angel Gabriel said, "Fear not". These cameras are so good that they can read the print of a newspaper, so they will well be able to see the characters involved, the mobile phones on the table, and all the watches!
3. Looking at the British Police's swift and firm reaction to Shannon's fake abduction and the perversion of justice there - with no deaths - I'd say the McCanns are quaking in their boots!
4. Why did Portugal allow itself to be pressurised by the British government?
Simple answer: Portugal had the Presidency of the EU. If the Lisbon Treaty was not signed, it would be very embarrassing for the Portugese government, a sign of failure of their presidency. The current President of the EU itself is also Portugese. The UK, in the post-Nice Treaty EU, is now a big player in the power game,only France and Germany's votes have as much weight as their own. Without the support of Britian the Lisbon treaty could have gone belly up. The UK are famously euro-skeptic, and so did clever negotiations, and no doubt leniancy on the McCanns was one of Gordon Brown's trump cards. (When he arrived in Liso to sign the Treaty, it is reported that the McCanns were the first item on his agenda in his private meeting with the Prime Minister of Portugal - ahead of the Treaty itself!) He played the game so well - signing the treaty but turning up late for the "family photo" so that in the future he could not be pointed out as the man who sold Britian's sovereignty.
5. Jane Tanner: even though she is a liar, I do hope its true she told the police that there was no abductor. The McCanns are so selfish - they landed the Tapas 9 into it last May, and then literally abandon these friends who have had their lives ruined out of a sense of loyalty (or fear, as well as fear of their own child neglect).
These McCanns are good at abandonment, eh? Soon they themselves will be abandoned - by the Tapas 9, their families and other friends....
Its all coming out in the wash.
It seems to me to be a story of egos...CM thought he'd get his 15 mins of fame and got so caught up in it, thinking his powers of persuasion could clear them...this sorry saga may have got him in trouble too...yet the common cause is the inflated ego....

The neglect is the one fact in this sad sad case the arogance and spin is what makes me think they are not telling the truth of what happend that night.
I have said many times here that when someone we love or care about dies guilt is a big part of the grieving process. If Madeleine is missing then they cant grieve properly as there is allways that faint hope she will return to them.
But surley if she is missing they must be feeling terrible guilt for not being with her and knowing if they had been she would still be with them. If my child was snatched from my arms by 50 people and I had no chance of holding on I would still feel that I could have done more to stop them being taken.
I really dont know what to think it is all so very sad children first we had our go.

No, I've pulled another all-nighter. I told myself I wouldn't do it again (it's a killer) but it all started at the pro blog. They accused me of being "Daisy". I haven't been in there for a while now so had no idea where they were getting this from. I went in there (like a fool) to say I wasn't Daisy, blah blah blah, and then Mandz started (as usual) having a go at me. I engaged, and really let her have it, and wasn't deleted! (mods hadn't showed up yet). So I kept telling them what I thought of all of them. Then Rosiepops showed up. I thought, "now I'm a goner", but she didn't delete me either?? It wasn't until "Tinks" showed up that I got deleted.
I tell you what, the people there are ILL .. they are not well. They have no love or regard for children, and "Tulip" even made backhanded threat to my own child "Maybe one day something will happen to you to MAKE you compassionate toward the McCanns" she said. I called her a "stregga" (which is Italian for witch) and said that if needs be, I will see her in my dreams!
So, how's your day been? LOL

There's one hilarious thing about them, though. It's the non-existant confidence in the McCanns innocence: "they are completely innocent, they have not neglected tweir children, they have nothing to hide". And then: "No way should they go back, it's dangerous to go back for the reconstruction, they should no go back unless the arguido status is lifted". HILARIOUS.
The world will see them refuse to return to the place where they abandoned their three under 4 year old children to have dinner, drinks and fun AFTER they stated for the whole world to see and hear that they would go back ANYTIME as soon as the authorities requested. It's going to be a blast whether they go back or not (and I never thought they would. Cowards will always be cowards. And Madeleine isn't worth the risk for them).

Not nice to bring your child into it one of them said that they hoped I had not passed on my DNA (they did apologise later) but as far as my girls are concerned dont even go there I would do anything to keep them safe and happy (and that does not mean they get everything they want) but being a mother is more important to me than anything else in the world and if my girls are ok then that is all that I can wish for..

some people posted that the Shannon case was a hoax on day one and were called vile names from the other side for being so sick.
Must admit myself I thought Craig Meeham was as dodgey as hell but I thought he may have taken her and hidden her away (Looks like I was right about him being a discusting Peadophile) but I truly did not think her Mother knew. Maybe she diddnt in the begining but we shall wait for the trial.
I wanted her to be inocent so her Daughter would know she was loved but she has broken the law and will stand trial for it and that is as it should be.

As to the question of why Belgium, and also, why both McCanns going to Belgium.
Apart from avoiding the PJ in the UK, they most probably have a meeting set up with some EU lawyers, to try to help them avoid arrest via the EAW. That's my theory for what its worth.

Bianca, those people are, most of them, people who did, do and thought about doing exactly the same thing the McCanns did. That is why they cannot see how disgusting that kind of parenting is. Seeing the McCanns as child neglecters would mean they are too. To acknowledge that they are responsible for what happened to their daughter is reminding them of the chances they took and admitting that they could have also been responsible for something terrible.

Why isn't Mr MacMillan-Scott promoting the work of Missing Children Europe in the European Parliament?
Missing Children Europe (MCE) is made up of the European Federation for Missing and Sexually Exploited Children with 21 member NGOs from 15 countries of the EU. These 21 NGOs work every day to prevent and fight the sexual exploitation of children and assist parents and investigators confronted with the disappearance of a child. Further, MCE is already affiliated with the International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (ICMEC) and is more than familiar with the Amber Alert System. And MCE has been working for soem time now with the European Commission on a dedicated telephone hotline number.
Once again, I ask why is Mr MacMillan-Scott trying to promote the McCanns, rather than Missing Children Europe, especially since the McCanns can hardly be called experts. They have only just visited ICMEC to learn more about the Amber Alert System.
Meanwhile, Missing Children Europe has already been recognized by the following institutions:
1. The Hague Conference on Private International Law:
• Has accepted Missing Children Europe as an observer.
2. The European Commission:
• Consulted Missing Children Europe to draft its Communication on the rights of the child.
• Consulted and associated Missing Children Europe on the drafting of the proposal for a Harmonised European Telephone Number (116 000) for missing and sexually exploited children.
• Supports at Vice-Presidential level Missing Children Europe initiative of the European Missing Children’s Day on May 25 since 2005.
3. The Council of Europe:
• Granted observer status to Missing Children Europe in January 2006.
• Recently invited it to participate in the expert committee on sexual abuse and exploitation, responsible for drafting the new Convention on the Protection of Children Against Sexual Exploitation and Abuse.
4. The OSCE:

The new thing over at the Pro blog is defending the McCanns by saying "See, all you Anti's thought Shannon's mother was sweet and innocent because she was working-class but look at what she did!". They then go on to compare the Matthews family to the "neat and tidy, respectable family of the McCanns". Boy, did THEY get a shock when I told them this was one "Anti" that NEVER defended Shannon's mother, and that furthermore, I abhor child neglect in general, no matter WHICH social class it spurns from! They kinda don't know which way to go with that, because they want to draw up this really nice, neat and tidy little dichotomy between the Matthews' and the McCanns that for most "anti's", just doesn't exist! (i.e., child neglect is child neglect!).

That also crossed my mind - but did you see her? I know a family where they adopted 5 children (in 1970s, teh days before IVF) and then had no. 6 naturally. In the pre-IVF era, it is wel known for infertile couples to conceive naturally when the pressure is off and they already have other children in the house - Price Edward and Sophie is another example, with their new baby.
Good point Claudia. The last thing I want to do is "wrap them up in cotton wool" .. Heaven forbid!

Yes, that does seem to be the case sometimes. I know of a couple who were teachers and who tried for ages to have a child, eventually settling for adoption. Then, guess what, they conceived. (I've heard this happens rather a lot to people who are surrounded by children a lot, too, like teachers).

I watched Mr and Mrs Cool McCann board the train to Brussels, first coming up the escalator with CM trailing behind like the servant he is - they certainly appear to like their celebrity status! I wonder how long it will last! With all these trips I should think that their twins will soon fail to recognise their parents, poor little mites,they have lost their big sister and now only see their parents in time for the odd bed time story I should think!!
If I had lost my little girl, there is no way I would leave my other two remaining children with anybody else because I would feel I could trust no one and I would still be hurting so unbearably I would have to be there to hug them both night and day to make sure they were safe! But then the McCanns are not like normal parents are they!

That has also been a very powerful thing for me in seriously turning against the McCanns at a very early stage. I confess I am a really doting mom, so try to put that in context, but, even so, I happen to think that any normal parent would have clung to those twins like glue and taken great comfort from them. There is no way that they would, from a very early stage, have just continued to dump them daily in the creche, as Gerry said on his blog, "using" it very much like they use nursery at home. I am afraid the implication to me as clear so that they could get on with their normal life without the nuisances around. Secondly, how can they not understand the trauma that would have been caused to these little ones by losing their big sis? I even read one comment on the pro blog the other night they would have forgotten all about Maddie now and what it was like to play with her. Research demonstrates that siblings and yes, even as young as two, suffer terrible emotional grief and trauma when losing a sibling like this, Kate and Gerry, particularly Kate were at pains to state at an early stage they were "not really bothered" although they did play "let's hunt the monster that took Maddie". To me this clearly suggests parents with no empathy and understanding whatsoever, in fact parents that are positively dangerous to be around little children, even encourageing sick and terrifying games to be played by tiny tots. There is no way the twins would have just thought of such a game, the idea clearly got planted in their heads.
Shame on our SSD for not immediately taking those two little angels to a better place as they did with little Shannon.

I don't know if you saw my post from earlier, but if you look at the video of Kate she does look fairly wide around the middle.
Theoretically speaking, if she did give birth and shortly afterwrds was sentenced, would it get her off a potential jail sentence, or would the baby have to accompany her?

As for being fragile, I believe she is. Everytime she hears about the police wanting them to answer questions and return to the place they lost their daughter so whatever happened becomes clearer, she does become extremely fragile.
