KATE AND GERRY CONTRADICT EACH OTHER - PANORAMA NOVEMBER 2007

Just before we apparently see Kate McCann shedding real tears for herself as the PJ prepare to charge her, let us recall how many tears she was shedding for Madeleine, back in PDL ..Gerry too. Does this look like a devastated couple? Where are the twins?

Thanks for the Pic Swedishmum, I have a feeling I will be using this, time and again!
Viv x

A 120 metre walk, via a circuitous route around the pool. To check on all the sleeping children required a meandering detour that almost doubled the distance between the bar and the McCanns' apartment. From the tapas bar, only the very top of the balcony of the McCanns' ground floor apartment 70 metres away across the pool is visible. A large whitewashed wall and thick bushes obscure the view from the poolside tables. So, the McCanns could not even see their apartment, let alone see or hear their little children, from where they sat consuming vast quantities of alcohol. It was nothing like being in the back garden was it? As Kate herself says in a statement she gave to private detectives, the night before, little Madeleine and Shaun were crying their eyes up for a mum (and dad too, he is just as bad), who sat drinking and just did not care. It meant one of the party would have to walk from the bar around the pool, and out through the security gate of the Ocean Club, a distance of some 60 metres.
Once out of the complex, they would have turned left on to Rua Dr Francisco Gentil Martins, a public road, and go a further 60 metres up the hill, through a three-foot high gate which cannot be locked, up a flight of steps and then in through rear patio doors, which were not apparently locked.
The apartment is not inside the Mark Warner complex itself but sits on the corner of two roads. On the corner of two roads, and right next a large pool, but Kate McCanns says "why did I think that was safe". Well yes Kate, why?? The front door of the apartment is on the other side of the building from the tapas bar, on Rua Dr Agostinho da Silva. The rear patio doors through which the adults would enter to check on the sleeping children faces on to a walkway, again open to the public.
With two entrances - neither of which can be seen from the restaurant where the McCanns were dining on 3 May - the apartment is impossible to monitor from the tapas bar. Now they want us to feel sorry for them and understand they just made a mistake in leaving their children exposed to this night after night. I dont understand and what is more, I never will..Kate says in Panorama we all knew what we had to do..apparently meaning this so called system of regular checks on the children. I do not think that is what she was talking about at all..

I have been looking at the Panorama transcript again. Bearing in mind this was a programme put out by the McCanns, months later, where they had chance to perfectly synchronise their stories there is one thing that has always seriously baffled me, the lie that Kate McCann lives and breathes. That some predator broke into that apartment and " stole Madeleine out of her bed".

If you just look at the two extracts below Gerry says after his check he went back out through the unlocked patio doors, but Kate says just the opposite. Even when they are putting on a show to defend themselves on the most fundamental issue they just do not agree. This is the nub of this case isnt it, there was no break in, there was no predator. There were no damaged shutters or jemmied window. Mark Williams Thomas, an ex police constable and media spokesman now claims in The Times some opportunistic predator just took Madeleine, trouble is according to Kate he broke in and "they" had been lurking and spying on them, not that they would have seen of course. Thomas changes his tune almost as often as I change pants and is certainly no "criminologist" as he claims. Gerry knows what he told his relatives cannot be right so he changed his story. How could anyone take this couple and their contradictory lies, right from the off, seriously or indeed Justine McGuiness or Mark Williams Thomas? Do reports in the media just before the "anniversary" from such people change the basic facts and that even Kate and Gerry cannot agree because they know their story is like a sieve? Well no, of course they dont!
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/panorama/7106086.stm
KATE: It's not about us, you know, we were bobbing back and forwards several times and I wanted to see the kids so.. you know, it's not about us. You know, I think that the problem is it's a predator basically who's been watching us, which gives you the shivers anyway, and broken into the apartment and taken Madeleine out of her bed.

Gerry McCann says he went at just after 9 to check on his children. He says that their bedroom door was more open than usual so he goes in. Gerry McCann has told Panorama he remembers looking down at Madeleine. He spent a moment thinking how beautiful she looked and how lucky he was. He says this was the last time he saw his daughter. He closes the bedroom door and leaves through these unlocked patio doors.

Hiya ROB

As you say that pic is a combination of things, the choice of dress, lying on the floor in a provocative pose, the angle of the camera and the fact they chose to use a professional photographer.

What normal parents would get a professional photographer in to take such a picture of their little girl, aged 3?

Stella said...

In the link to the photographer's own website, there are many other examples of his work. I was looking to see if there was anyone interesting and there is a wedding shot with some guy in the background in a kilt, I wonder if this guy is a friend/relative of theirs? It is a digital image which means it must have come from his computer and not a processing theft....

Have to dash, see you all soon...

Cops Probe Muslim Attacks on McCanns

Vile slurs on Maddie Parents

Police are set to investigate a vile attack on Madeline McCans parents by Muslim extremists. In a hysterical rant on an internet website fanatics blame the couple for her disappearance. They also call on Kate, 40 and Gerry, 39 to "embrace islam".

The tirade comes as the McCanns prepare to mark the first anniversary of Maddies disappearance in Protugal last May two days before her 4th birthday. Last night a close family pal called on police to probe the rant. He said "Statements like this are clearly designed to whip up hatred and should be an issue for the police"

Tory MP Patrick Mercer added "I am appalled that this poor family should be attacked in such a manner."

Fanatical cleric Abu Waleed is believed to be behind the rant. The website features footage of him speaking at the London School of Shariah, which provides a platform for firebrand Muslim preachers. The brit-born radical is already facing a police probe for allegedly inciting racial hatred. He claimed one in 8 muslims would be proud to related to a terrorist. He was also vidoed making sick jibes about the London 7/7 bombings and instructed Islamic students on how to cheat taxpayers.

On the website an un-named blogger wrote "The recent so called 'disappearance' of Madeleine McCann is nothing more than another fruit of British values at their best. So called moral values which we, the Muslim community, are rather sick of hearing". It added "Kate and Gerry McCann really should question so called Western values and embrace Islam - as should the rest of the british public".

Last night a spokesman for the London School of Sharia said "Mr Abu Waleed is not available to speak to you on any of these matter."

On GMTV this morning, the idiotic Mark Williams Thomas who is an ex police constable and media spokesman, stated that in his opinion Madeleine woke up and wandered out from the rear patio doors and bumped into an abductor just before going into the Ocean Club reception area. He also went on to say that another child will disappear in that area of Portugal this year which will prove there is a child abductor in the area??

Are they going to "arrange" for another child to "disappear" from PDL? I have reached the stage where I would not put anything past them!

Hiya it is rather stereotypical and unfortunate to suggest that the values of Kate and Gerry McCann are "Western values".

A scan of the internet would prove that is not the case, although a scan of recent articles in the press may give that impression.

Unfortunately, the British Press are not accurately reflecting reality or indeed public opinion!

Viv, I have just been reading about an attempted abduction of another young girl in Portugal (near PDL) who fought off the man. The description of the man fits bundleman but this time he was driving a 4x4.

I keep relating their actions to the parents of Rhys Jones and can you imagine seeing such a photo from them.

I may well be wrong but it strongly suggests to me it is a photo that shows just how truly happy they are inside. Now how could you be so happy knowing your first child is missing and quite probably according to their theory in the hands of a paedophile. It beggars belief.

It surely shows (IMO) they have information they are witholding and thus can feel relaxed enough to smile in a way that comes from exhiliration.

Viv, Daily Star have gone into overdrive today. Apologies if you have already seen it.

Daily Star 28:04:08
PORTUGUESE ABDUCTION ATTEMPT PROBE
ABOVE: Madeleine McCann disappeared in Portugal on May 3 last year28th April 2008 Private detectives hired by Kate and Gerry McCann are investigating the attempted abduction of a girl less than 30 miles from where Madeleine went missing.

A Dutch man has claimed that a stranger matching a description given in the McCann case tried to drag his daughter into a car in the village of Senhora da Rocha on the Algarve, southern Portugal, last month.

The would-be abductor was said to be in his 40s with a long pony tail - a description compatible with that of a man seen by British holidaymaker Gail Cooper acting suspiciously in Praia da Luz several times in the weeks before Madeleine's disappearance.

Mrs Cooper, from Nottinghamshire, spoke of seeing an olive-skinned man with long and straggly dark hair and a drooping moustache. Her account was used to generate an artist's impression of the man which led to a string of new calls.

The Dutch man reported the incident, which happened on March 11 this year, to Portuguese Police.

But it is understood that Metodo 3, the Spanish-based private detective agency working for the McCanns, is also looking into the matter.

Clarence Mitchell, the couple's spokesman, said: "Metodo 3 the investigative arm will study the details of this particular attempted abduction and will review it in liaison with the police."

He played down the significance of the latest claim saying it could be completely unrelated to Madeleine's disappearance from the McCanns' holiday apartment in Praia da Luz on May 3 last year.

The McCanns are preparing to mark the 1st anniversary of Madeleine's disappearance this weekend.

The Dutch girl's father - who does not want to be named - told Sky News that his daughter had been walking back from a supermarket when she was followed by a man in a black 4x4 which stopped in front of her. "He then grabbed her but my daughter fought him," he is quoted as saying.

Margarida Cruz e Silva said...

IMO,
it can mean 2 things:

1. another tactic by the team to call attention to them and to collect sympathy;

2. or a consequence of all the rubbish published by thr BR press that are also revolting this ethnic group because of the protection they have had being child neglecters and suspects of the death of their child.

Unknown said...

Hiya Bath

I think they have consistently demonstrated that money is their motivating force. This has all been done to become rich and famous and that is the explanation for their positive exhiliration.

Just like you I keep thinking of Rhys's parents, and frankly, there is no comparison is there? How could parents be exhilirated when their child has just been taken from them?

Could it be the “Muslim’s think the McCann’s did it” is a CM plant – imo it is most certainly where the Star heard it from. If you think the McCanns guilty then you must fall into the fanatical cleric type category. Funny me being a ‘WASP’ should think the same but then in theory a WASP thinking this doesn’t sound so fanatical – it could almost be true. Can’t have that Mr. Pink can we.

The Dutch connection also has not escaped my notice. When they went on their European tour Gerry wrote in his blog how they actually missed TV interviews because they were running late but just had to go and spend time with old friends of theirs from when they lived in Holland.

Now to a cynical mind I would say they just had to make some important arrangements with these people that simply could not be made via, phone, fax, email etc for fear of those conversations being bugged.

If I remember correctly the report of Madeleine being dead and giving details of her burial site, originated from Holland, where McCanns have friends and used to live, friends they just had to have a very private chat with. What sort of friends exactly, did they have in Holland?

I think it is higly significant that it keeps coming out people close to Gerry McCann are helping him. Just like Williams Thomas agency for public speakers is in Leicester.

Clarence's job, as we know, is to try and repair the McCanns damaged reputations by impressing on the public it is all just scurrilous rumour and speculation about them, they did no more than make a "mistake".

This sort of PR thrives on planting ideas in peoples minds, making associations with shocking events, we have the link to the Leonora story for example of just how bad the PJ are, apparently!

Now, we get some even more extreme racist tactics, he tries to make a link between extreme Muslim views and the views against the McCanns..anyone who could think such a think is just a "fanatic". As we know, Muslims with extreme terrorist views are a very tiny minority, but it just goes to show how desperate they are,, just how low they will stoop. It is their friends, we read who have asked for Muslims "to be investigated".

There is no limit to how Clarence will plot to diffuse and confuse in the most racist and abhorrent fashion.

Unknown said...

Hiya Wizard

as this article explains Gerry is the son of Irish Immigrants, he chased Kate around the world and they finally settled in Holland..This is what me and Marga mean about how busy Gerry has been working behind the scenes utilising all his connections!

Viv x

Kate and Gerry, both 39, both studied medicine at universities in Scotland but only met when they worked as junior doctors at the Western Infirmary, Glasgow.

Gerry was smitten from the start and when Kate went to New Zealand to work in 1996 he ditched his plans for a sabbatical in the US and followed her.

They worked in different cities but he made a 500-mile round trip on his days off to be with her.

Gerry's close friend Dr Paul McIntyre, 45, said: "Kate's a beautiful, lovely, sensitive person and everyone thought she was great, especially Gerry.

"Essentially, he went after her from the beginning."

Gerry's sister Trish Cameron, 47, said: "When they came back a year later they were an item. They've been inseparable since."

Gerry joked: "I saw Kate on the other side of the river and I crossed it! We didn't meet in the street, but at work."

He told Paris Match magazine:

"She made sure that I followed her. I must have courted her for a long time." They married in 1998 in Catholic Kate's home city Liverpool. Friends speak of all-rounder Gerry's talent for sport and Kate's brilliance at school.

Gerry, the son of Irish immigrants - his dad a joiner and mum a biscuit factory worker - was Scotland's under-19 1500 metres and Scottish universities 800 metres champion. He was also a skilled footballer and could have turned professional but opted to go to university instead.

In New Zealand, Gerry captained Napier City Rovers. Teammate David Anstis said: "He was a really nice bloke and he made a huge impression on the team."

Kate was top of her class at school and dreamed of a job caring for others. Friend Susan Clarkson, 39, said: "I think a few of the other girls were jealous of her because she did so well."

Cardiologist Gerry got a job as as specialist registrar at Glenfield Hospital, Leicester in 2000 and the family moved to the Midlands city from Glasgow.

Kate worked as a GP in nearby Melton Mowbray. Her best friend Jill Renwick said: "Kate wanted to be an anaesthetist or gynaecologist. But then Kate felt that urge for a family and knew she couldn't combine a top career with children."

But the couple had problems conceiving. Madeleine was eventually born on May 12, 2003, after IVF treatment. Gerry said: "It was incredibly special because we had been waiting for a long time.

"She was close to the perfect child. I know all parents think that, but Madeleine really was."

Friend Alan Grieves, 48, said: "After many years of hope, the birth of their beautiful Madeleine made their lives complete. We have never seen Kate and Gerry as happy as they were that day."

The couple lived in Holland for a year while Gerry worked on new heart imaging techniques. Kate became pregnant after IVF in 2004 and moved to England where the twins were born 21 months after Madeleine in February 2005.

Last year, they bought a bigger, £600,000 family home in rural Rothley, Leics.

Sports-mad Gerry would cycle to work and play golf in his spare time. Kate kept fit with trips to the gym and regularly took the children swimming. Villagers in Rothley speak kindly of a couple devoted to their children.

Hello everyone,

When I read the story of the new “abductor” on Sky, thought that I’ve heard that story before, so doing some research I found the article on the CM newspaper.
It’s a story that has nothing to do with Madeleine, imo, this is a pervert man with dirty skills and that has fantasies with teenagers, he should be found and arrested.
The police”GNR” is for a long time investigating this case, which was reported here on March the 18.
My question is: Why are these old stories, now, being printing as exclusives and new stories? Ok I know the answer…
Why are they saying that is a Dutch girl? To be more credible?!

Here is the article with a quick Translation by google:

“March 18, 2008 - 00:30 am

Porches: Family is concerned and wants to see assailant arrested
Attempted abduction of young 15 years
A man with horse tail, and several rings on the fingers, which is carrying a dark Jeep with tinted windows and yellow registration is being sought by the GNR, following a complaint by the family of a couple of 15 years resident in Senhora da Rocha (Porches, county of Laguna), victim of an attempted kidnapping.

The occurrence has been there exactly one week, at about 15:30, when the child, born in England, was about 200 meters from home, coming on foot, a supermarket located nearby.
A car encostou on the left side of the street, in contramão, and its sole occupant "was with his trousers down and pulled my daughter, for an arm, into the jeep. Fortunately she managed to escape and went to desperate home in state of shock, "reports the father of Dutch nationality and resident some 20 years ago in the area, who preferred not to identify.
In striving to escape, the couple did not set the registration of the car but retained traces fisionómicos the aggressor. The authorities are handling the case, not as an attempt to attack the abduction but as modesty and sexual exhibitionism, although the father of the child has no doubts. "For the description that my daughter made me, the man wanted puxá it into the car. If this had been achieved, I do not know what would happen."
According source of GNR, stemming from efforts to locate the man, according to information provided by the family, and also the car. So far this effort resulted unsuccessful and the authorities have no suspect.
FATHER REQUESTS HELP IN PROXIMIDADES
The father of the couple sent an email to several friends and acquaintances, with a description of the offender and the vehicle in which he is moving, that fotografassem cars and possibly suspected that the contact immediately. He also by cafes, posts, fuel and other establishments in order to seek help. "He was here on Saturday," confirms Verónica Birth, an official at a fuel situated at the entrance of Porches. I am not a scientist, essentially after luminol has been sprayed on a suspected violent crime scene and then viewed under ultraviolet light the latent traces of the blood after cleaning glow up blue. I think the point I really wanted to make is the McCanns criticise the fact this was not done until August, but in reality police would have got the same result if they had done it years later as they often do! Those traces never go.

This explains in detail:

~This extract about the use of luminol is particularly pertinent to the Maddie investigation and also offers an explanation as to why they did not use it until August and it did reveal essential information, I do not doubt that..and they started pulling up flooring etc.

Luminol in itself won't usually solve a murder case. It's only one step in the investigative process. But it can reveal essential information that gets a stalled investigation going again. For example, hidden blood spatter patterns can help investigators locate the point of attack and even what sort of weapon was used (a bullet makes blood splatter very differently than a knife does). Luminol may also reveal faint bloody shoe prints, which gives investigators valuable information about the assailant and what he or she did after the attack.

In some cases, luminol leads investigators to more evidence. For example, if luminol detects trace amounts of blood on a carpet, investigators may pull up the carpet and discover a lot of visible blood on the floorboards below.

One problem with luminol is that the chemical reaction can destroy other evidence in the crime scene. For this reason, investigators only use luminol after exploring a lot of other options. It is definitely a valuable tool for police work, but it's not quite as prevalent in crime investigation as presented on some TV shows. The police don't walk into a crime scene and start spraying luminol on every visible surface.

Hello Ladies & Gentlemen.

Managed to keep up with posts this morning but there are too many to read that appeared in the space of the few hours I was out!

Had a lovely weekend on the IOW and brought back some great fossils, including myself!

Ana, your post about Gerry & Kate: "Madeleine was close to the perfect child" ~ What on earth does that mean? Of course most parents would say their own children are lovely, wonderful, talented, a joy etc. etc. but close to perfect? That just sounds so, well, "I have designed my baby" and "we almost got a perfect match to what we ordered" BIZARRE!!!

Docmac, you have had me in stitches, as usual. I watched the luminol clip and thought, hmmmm.. not for the faint hearted judging by your warning but then... I didn't expect that. The expression on her face says it all! very funny!

Gina, had to go take a look at poop's site when docmac said they were discussing "help" for you. Good job you are a strong and intelligent person with a thick skin. ST can take a run and jump which it appears she already has ha ha! How nasty of her.

Viv, Delores, SM and anyone else I have missed, have enjoyed reading you all. May pop back later.

Hope, thanks for your email. I'll mail you back soon.

Dyl xx

Disclaimer: What follows is satire and does not reflect the views or opinion of the author. One would have to be truly evil to hold these views which have been unashamedly borrowed from others.

Oh dear, another young woman held and abused for years against her will in Austria. This happened only 80 miles from Vienna, where Natascha Kampusch was kidnapped and held in similar circumstances only 14 years later. It's obvious that there is a connection here. I have lots of Austrian friends and they agree with me. Do you all see it too?

*Fritzl, Priklopil. Both were male and their surnames both end with 'l'! They must be the same man!!!
*Both victims were female.
*Both cases occurred in Europe, in this instance even in the same country!!!
*Neither case is being mentioned on another blog where they truly care about all abductions.
*And what is it with cellars in that country? Does Austria keep a cellar register?

I was in Austria in 1998 and I always felt uneasy, as if something was not quite right. Now I know why. What the hell is going on in Austria? They advertise their country as youngster-friendly and just look what happens there. Why did it take their police 24 years to find this woman? Did they learn nothing from the Kampusch case? They are probably all fat, lazy, pig ignorant alcoholics tanked up on apfelstrudel and gluhwein. They probably can't even ski! Even bloody Hitler could ski.

The government that they work for don't even care about skiers anyway. All they care about is their tourism industry, but do they care if you have paid good money and there is no snow? Oh no, they don't give a monkey's. Well I say shove Austria's tourism industry. I know lots of people who will never go there again. There are lots of other snowy places which have started less wars and which are cheaper too. And while we are on about it, I say charge Austria with negligence, kick them out of the EU and boot this uncivilised, medieval country right into the middle of the Mediterranean Ocean. I must stress that all my Austrian friends, other friends, colleagues, acquaintances, the local newspaper, my wife's manicurist and the neighbour's cat all agree with me.

Austria? Pah!

Hello, everybody! :-)

'A picture paints a thousand words.' A diagram reveals as much, imo.

The McCanns, complete with cuddle cat, and a picture of Maddie on Kate's skirt, bask in the reflected glory of their little girl, for all the wrong reasons, in my view. For all the warmth of attention it gives their cold hearts - the parents who persistently left 3 infants alone in a foreign hotel room by night and with strangers in a creche by day while they amused themselves with adults they were 'so in to' (their words).

Parents who made a trademark of their 'missing' daughter, launched a global, money making campaign, advertised her eye defect against police advice because it was a good 'marketing ploy' (their words).

Parents who were called back to the apartment from a restaurant outside of the holiday resort - far beyond sight or sound of their infants - late night on May 2 because strangers heard their children's pitiful sobs.

Parents who left the children alone the next night.

Parents? Or merely egg and sperm donors acquiring children as social status symbols of their virility and 'normalcy'?

What normal parent could do as the McCann's did? Mercifully for children, most parents are responsible. Only sociopaths treat children like toys to be picked up and dropped at will, like the McCanns did.

Thanks Isis, I thought so. I went there this morning to ask tinkerbell about a comment she made re the McCanns receiving death threats and asked for details as I had not read anything about that. I should have known better because instead of getting an answer both tinkerbell and ST used it as an excuse to pop at posters on here and apparently I am the worst offender for associating with any of you.

Re their site, I don't know where they have gone and don't care to be honest but if I had to guess I would say they have set up shop in the tunnels that Rosie thinks are running from the police station:-)

Cláudia said...

Hi, guys!
Ana, glad you're ok.
Anan and Isis, thank you for the link. I didn't know that but I'm glad for the PJ. The feedback has been great. I only had one filthy comment, the second I received, and it came from the queen of filth, Rosiepoophead.

ta ra said...

Dear Joe,

Perhaps Madame R, leader of the girl gang, has been made painfully aware that companies like Mark Warner and certain other parties involved in this case can sue for libel, and this is no longer a war of words. Action speaks louder than words.

A reminder, the 3 defences against a writ of libel are that the statements are true in fact, fair comment or 'in the public interest'.

Repeated comments by McCann supporters suggesting that the culture of child care at Mark Warner resorts was in some way responsible for the McCanns' decisions, and therefore, the fate of 'missing' Maddie, are libellous.

The 'poor us', 'we're just innocent parents' routine is past its sell by date, imo.

Every company, every individual, no matter how compassionate, must defend their reputation when assailed unjustifiably, imo.

Best wishes,
leigh

Just passing by. See you next time, Joe. Good luck with the blog, Claudia. It's a lovely gesture.

dylan said...

Ana, sorry, it was viv's post. The quote was that madeleine was "close to perfect". I just found that a very odd thing to say about a child, let alone one that is "missing". People just don't say that when, sadly, they have lost a child. They say how wonderful they were & how much their personality will be sorely missed. Not that he/she was close to perfect. That comment just doesn't make any sense. Anyway, apologies again for the mix-up. I was having to rapidly absorb all of the posts and got a tad confused. Not unusual for me!

Gina, I meant Rosiepoop's site but I see you now know that. What has happened? Has that been shut down too? Strange goings on from that camp ;)

Hiya Dilly

A product that you had gone to a lot of trouble marketing and wanted to make a lot of money out of may be described as perfect. It is not an epithet you would apply to your little child who you lost is it..

Did you see ROB's link to the pic of Maddie, I cannot put it on this site because it would undoubtedly appeal to paedophiles. It was by a professional photographer and of course before they went to PDL. Maddie barely looks 3 on this pic. It is really horrifying they would get a professional photographer to take such a pic of their own "perfect" little girl.

Then as you say, she calls us mad! The level of hypocrisy on their seemingly now defunct site really does know no bounds does it!

nancy said...

Hi everyone -

I've just popped back for five minutes - I've been reading the papers and strange how after days of silence they can't seem to get enough to print about the McCanns! CM seems to have done a disappearing act though - I suppose he's out looking for another job because once the arguidos status is lifted from the McCanns, he will be thrown out with the baby's bathwater I imagine, and they can then be free to speak for themselves - that should be revealing in more ways than one! With their new book lined up they will be able to tell it like it is (to them)!!

Most of the response on the Daily Mail articles were definitely antis so things are beginning to change direction in my opinion.

While the Mcs are out posing for photoshots, their poor twins (according to their Gran) are looking for Madeleine every day - as well as looking for their parents no doubt!

nancy said...

Claudia -

I went on your PJ's blog and left a message - well, in fact, I think I left a couple because I thought the first one hadn't gone. Lovely to see so many people have sent messages of support to the PJ's which they so richly deserve!

Nancy x

dylan said...

Gina, your last post about R'poops and the tunnels: PMSL!! I hope they have some garlic defence mechanisms now that the threat of daylight has gone :)))

My friend leant me the downing book about Madeleine. I just started reading last night and within the first few pages I read about the MW listening service which of course never existed. I will read it all out of courtesy to my friend although I can see I will be sat in my bed shouting at the damn thing out of pure frustration. (doc, if you are reading, in much the same way that footie fans scream at their tellies ;) )

Something that has me bewildered is that when Kate was confronted with cadaver scent and the evidence of the blood spatter that was discussed here today, why, oh why, has she not doggedly ('scuse the pun) hounded the PJ to prove it is not true, if not for anything but to prove that her little girl did not die in the appartment?

The McCanns persistently claim that they believe her to be alive. Surely, if they are innocent in her disappearance, the first thing a parent would want is to have that evidencde discounted. Not to clear them but to somehow comfort them that there is still some hope?

I really, really cannot comprenhend why the evidence in this respect has been glossed over by them. Innocent parents would be devastated and the very first and last thing you would do is to find out the strength of the possible evidence for the demise of your child so that you could reach some sort of peace?

This has been bugging me for a while. The only motive I can perceive is that, that particular evidence may revaeal a modicum of guilt directed towards [the parents]

Does anybody have any ideas on this or any old news that shows that they did have some determination in this respect?

nancy said...

Gina -

It seems strange that Sassy's blog has disappeared! Is it the website, or just the blogs? Perhaps they have all gone to get tickets for the ITV show on Wednesday evening! Standing room only I would think for this celebrity pair. I will watch but with a huge pinch of salt what they have to tell us!

I'm off now - see you tomorrow.

Unknown said...

Hiya Claudia

I think I have been a bit out of sorts today and have a splitting headache. I was reading about that Mark Williams Thomas and just got seriously angry.

That man has built a new career in public speaking by commenting on the Madeleine case for Gerry McCann trotting out the most absurd twaddle about a dead little girl for money. How many more of these vultures are going to jump on the on the bandwagon.

nancy said...

Dylan -

I just saw your post before I blogged off!

The only thing I can remember Kate and Gerry saying about evidence was that perhaps Madeleine had a nose bleed and that could have caused the blood spatters! As if they wouldn't have known if she had! Then they said that the evidence in the hire car was due to putting dirty nappies and stuff in the boot - all fairy tales I'm sure - even I could have come up with something better than that!

This couple are a one off that's for sure and have never acted like a normal couple who have lost a child and added to that, a child who was supposedly taken by a paedophile! Yet people still defend them!

I'm off now - see you tomorrow!

docmac said...

Nancy, another thing from that article that struck me. Gran said "they are just not a family unit without Madeleine." What an odd thing to say.

Another thing - ITV is said to have made a 10k pound donation to the fund as 'payment' for the upcoming documentary. Why is it always 10k? Whenever they threatened to sue, the figure mentioned was always a million. Nice round numbers. When do the books have to be audited?

Rori Hegarty said...

Gina said...

Dylan I have no clue what Kate said re the blood all I do know is that is if I were in the same position and was being accused of something I knew I had not done I would not have run away, it would have been a case of telling the PJ to put up or shut up and get on with helping to find my child

Marga, they have done exactly what they accused Alsabella of doing, pulled the comments with having the decency to explain why. Mandz was the last comment I saw when she asked where was everybody and Sassy said there is a lot happening at the moment and she would email and explain. They have not bothered with other posters who perhaps share their views and like to read the comments but do not post. Think it best if we just let them get on with their mission or crusade or whatever and forget about them

I'm still thinking of the article Rat posted here today about the other theory to explain how it was vital for the parents dispose of the body not incriminate them because of a possible murder.

Isabella was also asphixiated by her stepmother and it was possible for the scientific police to identify it.

dylan said...

Isis, lol! I hope I don't wake my children up with my cursing and swearing. I wouldn't want them to embrace my diction!

Viv, i did have a look at the picture. It is somewhat disturbing & if i paid a photographer and saw that as a result I would be straight down to his office demanding a reason for that pose. Completely inapropriate & it removes the child from the child.

Also, "not a family unit" ? again; far too clinical. What is wrong with "our family is missing Madeleine so much that we are finding it hard to cope without her"? It is almost like an outside commentator for country show is expressing his disappointment that the dog trials was missing its champion retriever! Arrghh!

Gina, exactly! You would be doing everything in your power to make sure the investigation stayed focussed on finding your child. Including answering questions, pitching up for reconstructions and never letting go of the search.

Hmmm... what priorities have we seen so far? We are innocent, we don't need to take a lie detector test unless it is fallable in court, we won't show for reconstructions as we are afraid we will be villified in PDL (sob) we don't need to search for her as everybody else is doing that, we will hire fraud investigative companies to search for her as fraud is good enough for us as an apt child finding agency & finally, we have hired expert lawyers to make damn sure we never have to be taken/extradited to that nasty country again where there are lots of scraggly men with earrings and pony tails that scare us! And by the way we are perfect parents!

Hiya Doc

It is a pervere phemonema isn't it? Murderers awaiting trial continue

a) their obsession with being money grabbers (many murderers have prior m.o. for fraud, burglary etc)

b) wilfully persist in trying to portray the police/authorities as the villain

Now in fact, rational thought could have led him to the understanding they were actually doing him a big favour by reducing his weight and improving his health, but hey it is hard to meet a rationally minded murderer, he is more concerned about his rations.

Selfish too, as you say did he ever think how such a weight loss may affect Kate McCann? No of course the selfish, prat, it never even crossed his bloody mind, now did it?

Viv, this guy is a real moaner. He has also complained that he is locked down 23 hours a day and gets no opportunity to exercise. But his suit makes mention of a further claim that he comes over all dizzy when he exercises, again due to lack of adequate nutrition. I might add that inmates are given 3000 calories per day, close to the upper end of normal recommended consumption for an adult male.

Unknown said...

Hiya Dillie

Last time I visited a prison I cannot say that is looked so luxurious to me, but hey, when did I ever agree with the Daily Express?

At one establishment there were 12 places for a bricklaying course which was very popular and about the same for a car mechanic course, also very popular, only trouble is there were 5-600 inmates. Cells were tiny and sparse, often two per cell and tv's only allowed to those who behaved and became level 1 prisoners.

Young offender institution I once visited was one of the worst. Those youngsters who misbehaved got dragged off and put in a strip cell, with padded jacket sometimes. When they had calmed down they were removed to a solitary cell where they could be kept for about two weeks for misbehaving, no books, no tv, no nothing and allowed out for 30 minutes exercise per day. We were not even allowed to have the cell doors open so we could say hello to them. To me that is a recipe for causing pure rage and a very angry young man when he gets out with severe mental health problems..then they move on to adult probation. Of course if you are Lord Archer you may have a very different regime that allows you to pop out in your merc and stay in a pretty nice place...

Viv, as you know, I am totally against the death penalty. Mostly because the justice system could have got it wrong but I am concerned that I don't think anybody has the right to take a life, no matter what the crime.

What does concern me is that in this day and age, these scumbags think they have a right to humanitarian treatment. That is just wrong. They should be made to pay for their crimes, full stop. IF it transpires that they are innocent, then at least they still have thier lives and the state can make it up to them. IF it transpires that they are guilty of horrible crimes, then at least they have a chance to feel and speak remorse which i believe to be helpful to families that they have affected rather than vengeful slaughter where there is no "sorry" to be got from the prerpetrator when he/she has been executed. I realise I have quite strong opinions in this sense, so feel free to disagree!

Viv I thought I read recently that courts have been instructed not to give prison sentences for robbery and the like as the prisons are full, what a bloody joke that is.

Really off to bed now - sleep well all

dylan said...

Viv,

I thought that to be the case. In fact an ex-con and a prison officer rubbished that article. No surprise there!

Lord Archer - lol! I can't ever get the Bridget Jones scene out of my head about him! :)

Unknown said...

Hiya Dillie

I suppose it is my experience as a probation officer that makes me see things in a slightly different way.

Many people who become offenders do so because they have not had chances in life, they have been abused and ill treated themselves. Womens prisons in the UK are much more like mental health wards and when you listen to what these women have suffered you can understand why they are there. They were beaten and abused, started using heroin, turned to prostitution to pay for the heroin - do they actually deserve more punishment?

The same particulary with young offenders, yes, if they keep on breaking the law, then they have to be locked up, or they have to be locked up because what they did was so serious, but once we have got them in there, do we just want to punish them, or do we want to try and help them to change.

There are adult offenders who like their criminal lifestyle and they do not want to change. You can try and help change their mind but this can be very difficult. Then they have to be locked up but they can still receive help in prison. If we do not help people to change we just make them worse for when they get released. I really do believe in protecting the public and treating prisoners in a humane way can do just that. Some prisoners are so disturbed and dangerous the public would never be safe from them, then keep them locked up, but the rest who want to change should be given that chance.

Unknown said...

Gina,

I think you are mistaken!

Any serious robbery will always automatically attract a custodial sentence and usually a pretty hefty one too.

Robbery involves using violence, there are two particular criteria that indicate a custodial sentence serious offences involving either sexual abuse or violence. That will never change because it is primarily about protecting the public and it is felt probation cannot satisfactorily work with such offenders until they have had a spell in custody. They come out when they have served half their sentence and have to spend the rest on probation, if they dont co-operate they are sent back, often within a matter of hours.

There has been advice that a custodial sentence should not always be automatic for burglary, particularly if it is a first offences because there are stringent sentences that can be served in the community e.g. being on curfew with a tag, having to undergo drug treatment, working with a probation officer, and doing unpaid work for the community. Again if they breach any of these requirements they know where they are going!

dylan said...

Viv, I totally see your point. It is a very sensitive issue and nature/nurture etc. I believe that all people should have the chance to show remorse whilst not believing that all people have this capcity.

As with the Leonora case, I think with the evidence the PJ had & from what Claudia says, I would very probably have at least kicked her, notwithstanding her claims that she was bullied into a confession. That whole case is just too horrifying for words. These people are not people and since animals do not have the sense of morality, they are worse than animals. I read something horrible in the Observer this Sunday about why a father was let off for murdering his daughter under muslim rule. I can't say any more as I know how dangerous it would be to do so but it is things like that that make me fell so bloody useless in that I just have to let it go.

Going to bed now to yell at my book. Having all of my locks chopped tomorrow in the hope it will make me feel like a new woman. Us girlies, when will we learn that such trifles are so silly!!

Sleep well.

Docman -

I think your avatar is so clever!! I'm up early reading last night's blogs and saw yours to me.

I never cease to be amazed at the things this whole family come out with when speaking of Madeleine!

Do you remember the progamme called 'the Munsters'? Well I think the whole McCann family should be in their own show on similar lines, and we could surely think up a good name for it between us! Something like the McSpinners!

So tomorrow night's appearance is going to be a nice little earner for them - 10K!! And they say crime doesn't pay! That should keep CM employed for a few more months!

While joking about all this, I find it so hard to believe that two suspects in a child neglect case are able to profit considerably from an atrocity, in which they are implicated, that has befallen their daughter! Just how do they sleep at night!

nancy said...

Sorry Docmac -

I got your name slightly wrong - especially as you are a woman!! Early morning befuddlement!

I'll be getting a name on here for my 'typos' - what with saying Gina was sitting on the shelf! I must have been thinking of poor overwashed cuddle cat!!

I had to laugh at your comments last night - especially the one about getting the words for eggs and thursday mixed up. The strange thing is I did the same myself some years back while holidaying in Spain. I asked the waiter for 3 boiled Thursdays instead of eggs and the waiters just cracked up!! My two children never let me forget it either!

I know what you mean about the fireworks!! I feel so sorry for the poor dogs and birds around - they must spend a fortune on fireworks in Spain - they obviously get too much EEC money!

Apart from that they are lovely people in the main - and I am married to one so I suppose I'm a bit biased!

Morning All,

Just been watching GMTV (sorry, somebody has to) where the journo out in Praia da Luz said the McCanns will be very disappointed to learn that their much hoped-for alleviation of arguido status will not happen on 1st May...and that he has heard rumours that the PJ have applied for another 3 months extension.

Naturally, this is because they have no evidence and are just trying to pin something on an easy target.

Not.

:)

nancy said...

Hi LGC -

I bet CM won't be disappointed if they keep their arguidos status for a further three months! He will still be able to talk for them and carry on the spinning! Once they lose the arguidos status they will obviously be able to speak for themselves, and then I think we'll see a few foot in mouth situations!

Seriously though, the PJ's must know they are involved because with all the pressure and adverse publicity from the UK media and no doubt pressure from the McCann lawyers, and who knows who else, they would have backed down by now I'm sure and given in to the abduction theory!

I hope Opus is well today and the weather is good for you.

Gina said...

Good morning all

Viv re your comments to me last night re sentencing. Yes I probably did get that wrong as I read a small article that was talking about the nanny state and saying that some times that take things too far and other times appear not to give strong enough sentences, mentioning a man who now has a criminal record because he overfilled his dustbin and another man who was given a caution for fly tipping etc etc. I agree education and encourgement to get out of the life of crime is the best way forward in many cases.

LGC did they actually say they are using this to pin something on the McCanns.

Nancy, my dogs were fine with the fireworks, they are so used to them they just sleep through it all, pity I could not do the same

nancy said...

Hello Gina -

I'm glad the doggies slept through it all! We are quite a long way from the nearest village so we don't hear them too much but having been to lots of displays I know just how loud they are.

I've just seen a comment Kate made on a BBC interview.

'Please continue to pray for Madeleine - she's lovely!'

I can understand the first bit, but to add 'she's lovely' seems a strange thing to say. Whether she is lovely or not we'd all pray for any child to be returned safely.

Will you be watching the ITV show tomorrow evening? It will be at 9.00pm here of course. I probably will - I'm a glutton for punishment!

I'm just off for a walk in the sunshine before it gets too warm!

See you later.

Hello Nancy,

Well, the longer it goes on, the more Clarrie's bank manager is jumping for joy...and actually, Clarrie hasn't done too much of a bad job putting his own foot in it, as the PJs lawyers have kindly taken the trouble to inform him!

Weather terrible here! (Probably wonderful where you are!) But Opus is very well, thanks - he's enormously excited about his new role as a spin penguin, and he should be issuing several statements from now on which will totally clear up murky situations in an obfuscatory way, exonerating all guilty parties as he goes along, yet somehow making them more suspiciously culpable. He says.

He sends his best regards to you (I think that means he sends his best regards to you). :>

:)

Gina said...

Nancy I am not sure if I will be watching the documentary or not at the moment, depends what else is happening or on the telly. I was just thinking that I do not think I can keep posting on this case for another three months anyway. What the hell else is there to say that has not been said many times already.

I know these things take time to resolve but I cannot see for the life of me why the PJ need another three months. What is going to change in that time. The only difference it appears to make is it prevents the McCanns going ahead with their books etc. but surely that is not reason enough IMO

Madeleine Suspect

Alex Watts
Sky News Online
Praia da Luz
Updated:08:00, Tuesday April 29, 2008

Madeleine McCann suspect Robert Murat says he is not worried about his safety after a business associate's car was torched and the word "talk" scrawled next to it.

Suspect: Robert MuratSergey Malinka's silver Audi saloon was destroyed in an arson attack in the early hours outside his home in Praia da Luz, southern Portugal.

Next to it was the Portuguese word "fala" ("talk") daubed crudely in red paint on the pavement.

The Russian IT expert, who designed a website for Mr Murat, came to attention last year when police searched his home and seized computers two weeks after Madeleine vanished in the Algarve resort.

Portuguese police also investigated telephone calls between Mr Malinka and Mr Murat on the night she disappeared.

Mr Murat's lawyer Francisco Pagarete told Sky News Online he had no idea why the incident happened, or the motives behind it, and said his client had not been subjected to any threats or attacks himself.

Mr Pagarete told Sky News Online his client had received threats and hate mail in the early days of the investigation, "but not fortunately now".

Attack on Mr Malinka's car (photo supplied by resident)He added: "This has nothing to do with Robert, we don't know who did it. With this incident, he has nothing to worry about."

The blast took place 30 yards from Mr Malinka's home in a small cul-de-sac, damaging an Opel Zafira parked next to it.

Mr Malinka was unavailable for comment, when Sky News Online tried to contact him in Praia da Luz.

But he told the Portuguese daily newspaper Correio da Manhã he does not understand the message left on the pavement and is "tired" of the Madeleine case.

"I don't know what to do anymore," he said. "I go to church every week, I pay my taxes, I don't deserve this. I want to be left alone."

You can check the other threads on 3A to find more information about the arguidos status and criminal proceedings in Portugal. I apologise if you have seen this explanation before, but a lot of posters seem not to be aware of these proceedings and are therefore more volatile to Claries' spin.

1) This is not news. Even before the PJ came to the UK it had already been announced that the prosecution had granted another extension of the inquiry phase. This means until August 2008. In fact, because August 2008 is judicial holiday in Portugal, in practice it is until September 2008.

2) The secrecy rules (that means that nothing in the investigation file can be made public) apply ONLY during the inquiry phase (to preserve the investigation). Once the inquiry phase is concluded (in August 2008) the prosecutor will press charges or archive the process without charges. In either case, the inquiry files will be made public - the secrecy rules no longer apply. After the inquiry phase, the portuguese judicial system is more open and transparent than most systems in Europe.

3) In so far as the inquiry phase is extended until August, the McCanns or Murat will not see their status changed. That simply is not possible during the inquiry phase. A change in their status is only possible once the inquiry phase is concluded and then the prosecutor decides whether or not to press charges. Until then everyone preserves the status. The McCanns know that is the case, the PJ has repeatedly stated the law and yet they still keep coming back saying that they'll only return to portugal if the arguido status is lifted... (they know it's impossible for anyone to lift their status during the inquiry phase).

4) Clarence Mitchell created a myth that they are arguidos only because the portuguese police want to gag them and not let them talk about the investigation. That is wrong. The secrecy laws that apply during the inquiry phase, apply to everyone; arguidos, witnesses etc. All these individuals are not allowed to reveal details or information contained in the investigation files (in witness statements etc.). The McCanns gave witness statements to the police and even without being arguidos they'd be bound by exactly the same secrecy rules that they are as arguidos.

5) It is wrong to state conclusively that "the investigation phase will continue until August and therefore they'll remain arguidos until August". The magistrate has granted an extension to the inquiry phase until August 2008. This extension has to be justified in light of the law; notably they have to substantiate that there are still paths of investigation to be completed (ie they've not exhausted all inquiry areas) and that there's exceptional complexity in this case (could usually be justified by the fact that the main witnesses are abroad). This has been done and the magistrate agreed to allow until August 2008 the continuation of the investigation. This does not mean that the inquiry phase must last UNTIL August 2008. Tomorrow or today, if the prosecutor believes he/she has compiled enough evidence to press charges - or - that the investigators have exhausted all investigation paths and there's nothing else to pursue, he may decide to conclude the inquiry phase and either archive the process (no evidence) or enter the instructory phase (forming accusation).

I hope this helps dismistifying some of the wrong things that the british media have been reproducing under the instructions of Clarence Mitchell. From Salomon ES on the 3as

Buenos días,

Your post at 7.20

I have the same question also. How can these people sleep at night? By these people I mean all the people involved. (tapas 9/10,CM and others)

Gina said...

Thanks for that Isis, I understand it perfectly but it still seems a bit of an odd way of going about things to me. I just feel that by now they must know whether they have enough evidence or not. They must know whether they have enough evidence to charge. If they have not got enough evidence and so they lift the arguido status in August, when they could do that now is leaving them open to a lot of very bad publicity which I feel does the country's image no good at all. However, my opinion is of no importance so I do not know why I get so concerned about all this

Rori Hegarty said...

Gina , if the portuguese judiciary sees fit to grant an extention to the investigation they are on the right track , remember there are some forensics still outstanding from the fss.

Gina said...

Yes Isis, I had forgotten about the outstanding forensics, but why do you think they are taking so long. I would have thought they would have been done long ago too.

I guess my main problem is, I am just sick to death of the constant publicity, spin, etc etc and whilst I am really saddened that Madeleine is missing, I am even more saddened that all this publicity is for just one child and her parents whilst other receive none

It is not surprising that the HoF has no comments to view. Is this the start of desperate tatics to remove anti mac blogs.

It would be nice just to chat about nothing from time to time without interferring with serious posts. It would give us time to clear our heads a bit without loosing contact. However I accept this is not about that, it is about Madeleine and justice for her

Doc, not sure that Blogger can handle gifs as avatars? I know it can't do them in the comments, because I have tried. But if you want to try it, you just upload it, same as a jpeg - or if you want to reference, it's
[img src = "http://sourceofimage.com/picture.gif"] and the image should just display. This works in posts as well, if you don't want to upload the image direct to Blogger.
