Kate, September 2007Here Kate and Gerry cleary acknowledge the DNA evidence against them and confirm Police are listening to every word they say following discoveries made by the dogs, forensic experts/British and Portuguese Police in early August...absurd claims are made the abductor or should I say the evil predator who makes Gerry sick to the very core "planted" evidence..that did provoke one of my more satirical posts last night I am afraid..It is quite amazing how toned down the news is now but I did predict this as we got nearer to the McCanns being charged, we do want them to get a fair trial, in accordance with their human rights. Childrens human rights should be recognised far more than they are, they are not the possession of their parents to smack and dump, from further posts I have been reading from certain pros the last few days, this message clearly is not being put across strongly enough..Maybe at the end of all this we can collectively petition the government to do far more to publically educate parents on national TV etc about childrens rights and what constitutes being a decent parent and ..what does not! It is not a question of being "perfect" human beings are imperfect, it is about having values and respect for others. This applies in all areas of life. To some, any person that is different to them, does not deserve respect, it is very sad when they look upon children differently thinking they have the right to assault them, that attitude really does need to change. Swedishmum posted yesterday it is unlawful in Sweden, that is a law change I would personally back because it highlights to parents that it is unacceptable to bully and abuse your own children. How more fundamental issues of why some parents can only think of themselves and not their children can be resolved is another matter. Small steps, no easy or quick fixes any more than the prosecution of Kate and Gerry McCann was ever going to be quick or simple x

In his blog on the website www.findmadeleine.com, Mr McCann described the past few days as "unbelievably stressful and emotionally draining".

He wrote: "The pain and turmoil we have experienced in this last week is totally beyond description.
Portuguese police declared the McCanns arguidos - or formal suspects - after a breakthrough in DNA tests conducted in Britain.
Police in Portugal now believe Mrs McCann killed Madeleine and her husband helped cover up the crime, hiding the body temporarily before disposing of it at least 25 days later using the hire car.
The McCanns say the claim is ludicrous and far-fetched and they fear they are being framed by the Policia Judiciaria.
Mrs McCann made her claim of being framed in a telephone call to a close friend after she was interrogated for 11 hours at Portimao police station on Thursday, where she was accused of killing her daughter.
The friend said: "When we spoke, the feeling was very much from her that they were being stitched up."
It is understood that the new legal team hired by the McCanns to defend them - they could face charges at any time - will scrutinise the forensic evidence and employ their own expert.
The McCanns have let it be known they are scathing about the standard of policing in Portugal, with one source suggesting that the forensics gathered could easily have been contaminated by officers inexperienced in modern policing techniques.
One source suggested that officers had failed to take the McCanns' fingerprints properly on the night Madeleine vanished and had to take them again the next day.
The officer who searched their holiday apartment in Praia da Luz wore only gloves and not the overalls which are standard practice in Britain to prevent contamination of evidence.
The McCanns could remain arguidos for up to a year, leaving them uncertain of their future.
But police could also issue arrest warrants at any time, forcing them to return to the Algarve, from where Madeleine vanished on 3 May.
The source said the McCanns were much calmer since returning home on Sunday and have regrouped to defend their reputation and continue the worldwide search for Madeleine.
"Now it has happened the way it has they are not unhappy at being home. They can return to some form of normality," said the source.
"They can get some rest and recuperation. They have easy access to lawyers and communications rather than being one stage removed in a hostile environment. They were increasingly isolated in the new villa."

I have just read that the mccanns and friends have been asked to return to Portugal to do a reconstruction of the night in question and Kate has allegedly said she is too upset, her feelings are not being thought of.
Can you believe these people, they say they will do anything to get their daughter back, including a huge fund with donations from the public, but when the police ask them to od something to help with the investigation, tthey are to upset, not as upset as their daughter ctying alone night after night while they were out enjoying themselves with ther equally selfish friends. Not too upset to fly to Brussels to promote themselves in the political arena, to discuss missing children, including their own daughter, but help the police, no it would make them to upset....Lizzy

Why do'nt the British police look into the disappearance of Madeline of madeline and question the McCanns independently of the PJ, that is something I find confusing, since they returned from holiday without her, instead of pussyfooting around them and allowing them to have people talk for them all the time. Its just not right.They hauled in Shannons mother no bother, and the full force of the law will be applied. yet they do not even question the wonder 2.

i still fail to see how a reconstruction will work.
to reonstruct something, one must know how the original thing was created.
the mccann say they do not know what happened to their daughter. therefore they cannot reconstruct it.
the police may well know what happened to the little girl. in which case they do feel able to recreate the scenario.
if the mccann and their friends do try to make a reconstruction this may well be their big downfall.

Compaire that to a vanished Maddie, a million pound fund and perverting the course of justice, in the UK and in Portugal, for a whole year.

Thanks for your kind comments about myself and Leigh which are really appreciated. People obviously do waver and wonder whether we are going to see justice for Madeleine. That is what we are seeing right now, no one should allow the McCanns fantasy circus to change that.
I do like to think our efforts have gone to Gordon Brown, I actually sent them there. If he had any thoughts about obstructing the course of justice in this case, I do like to think he has changed his mind about that, because of all of us and how we feel about this. The staggering number of posts this blog is now getting can only send that message even louder and I thank you all for that.

My sister is a teacher, so she knows what behaviour is suspicous or not! (Sadly she has not seen the interviews, she has only seen bits of spin in the paper).
As an aside, the other day the girls she teaches tried to pull a fast one. She spotted it straight away. "But Miss", they said "how could you tell?". Her answer was "hey, I went to school too, I know all the tricks".
THe PJ and the UK police have seen criminals before, they can see what they are like, let's just hope they have the evidence.

I 'retired' aged 43 after a very successful 24 year career and now live off income from investments.
And I live in a 5 bedroomed detached house on a very nice estate in Cheshire.
And when my kids have all finished their GCSE's and have gone to university and I get really bored doing nothing I will get another job.

In Britain kids are just a meal ticket. If you have them one after another you can dress them in hand me downs and the older ones look after the younger ones.

Well I hope so I really dont know why you are so angry with us all and have tried to disrupt and written such strange and vile stuff as to why we are here.
No one allways agrees but I think most of us care about our own children cant imagine why they neglected their child and have spun the story so much.
When you love someone so much it hurts and the thought of a 3 year old child alone and frightend and then god knows but either outcome is terifying and I guess when we see the pictures of this beautiful little girl some of us remeber our own children at that fantastic age and cant imagine spinning or making excuses as we would be to busy searching or a complete wreck.
Also answering all questions would be a natural thing to do.
yes. bad behavior also exists where there is money. like leaving your children alone in a foreign hotel room to go to a bar with your friends. that is why the mccann can "never" be innocent. they have at least contributed, in a big way, to this tragic situation.

If people climbed out their greedy financial trees and made sure one parent [either!] was at home all the time looking after their kids instead of out earning dollars - this whole society would be back on its feet and prisons would be less full, as would GP waiting rooms and counsellors offices be.
I think a parent should be paid to stay at HOME, it is the most beneficial job to any society, the mother!

She is so confused she thinks her biological father, Leon Rose, 29, was responsible for rescuing her rather than a team of police officers.
If this is the case it clearly implies she feels safe with her dad, I hope SSD will look at the possibilty of placing her with him.

SuperAss definitely forgot her medication again. Offenders pscyhiatrists described it to me as revolving patient syndrome. They hospitalise them, get them well again, within a matter of months they stop taking their meds and get more and more ill again, then they have to be certified again. SuperAss must be getting very close to this situation by the looks of things!
Isis, you have to understand that people who defend child neglecters are, well, special, to put it mildly.

Honestly, Viv, I don't care about their situation. I don't care if they are sane or ill. One fantastic thing about little Shannon is she is still alive, and I think I read she had not been sexually abused.
I thought it was absolutely wonderful the way the police immediately got her a little kitten to love. I know they will place her where she will be safe and she will be loved for the dear sweet little girl that she is. Those who have offended against her can rot in their cells, we are sending out a clear message to all child abusers, see what happens to you. This is great news for children, those who have no concern for children get grilled for 12 hours and the police have certainly not finished with them yet!

I was told to keep deleting her posts, that I must keep records, which is standard advice to anyone suffering harassment and that they are monitoring the situation. Another officer told me the pages of sickening filth I took down to the police station that night had been "passed on". I do not know who to but we did have a good chat about the McCann case and I cannot print what was said to me but it was something along the lines of good work!

Viv, thank god shannon was not sexually abused but what her mother has allegedly done is so damaging to the psyche of a child of nine. To think ,you have to have a licence to own a dog,anyone with the right equipment can produce a child.To be honest in my line of psychiatry im just fed up of dealing with it day in day out. I had achild admitted to my unit who was made a ward of court at 3am and it took me 2 hours to persuade the little girl to take her coat off.

I asked her to explain who was looking after him whilst she was on here day and night, she then said someone else was making the posts for her, one of her other voices no doubt!

I was not for one minute underestimating the terrible trauma this child has gone through, apparently not even realising it was the police who rescued her. I do not know whether she will ever get over how she has been treated. I have worked with many offenders who turned to hard drugs to try and block memories of their terrible childhoods, sometimes you do ask yourself is this living.
I really hope she can start to recover and have a better life from now on.

I know silly Kate, how could she fear being arrested for being such a nice parent and even leaving her twins with others to pop off to Brussels for another photo-shoot.
I know for a fact if she went back to Portugal she would get a warm welcome and she said she never wanted to leave in the first place. So there we are all can be arranged. A life in the sun, well if she stands on a stool and peers through the bars of her luxury accommodation that will be laid on for her, I just know it. What more could a woman ask?

My two cents worth on the smacking issue (sorry if this is now off-topic!):
Both extremes bother me, i.e., parents that go too far and actually beat their children (in other words, child abusing filth), and parents that go too far the other way and simply will not smack at all!
Nothing is worse than being in a crowded supermarket or doctor's waiting room and having children going berserk; screaming, hitting each other; throwing things etc, and the parents will not lift a finger! If you can't pick the kids up and physically get them out of there (like I used to when mine occasionally played up) then at least give them a smack. To sit there and do nothing makes you complicit to the bad behaviour and shows that you simply don't care about others around you.
I remember once I'd not long come out of hospital and was still very unwell. We had a couple and their children over, and one of the kids (aged about 4) threw a stone she had gotten from outside straight at my head. It hurt - really hurt, but her mother just gave me this lame, rather arrogant little smile as if to say "well, I'm not going to smack her". I kept rubbing my head and dropping hints like "Gee, that was nasty" but "mother" was refusing to play along. By the end of the visit, her children's behaviour had become so vile and so intolerable (including hitting HER!) that I offered, without the hint of a smile, to smack the children myself! "Oh no" said the mother, ever so proud of herself "we don't do that". "Well good luck" I said as I closed the door for the visit "because they won't be coming back into this house for starters!".
A short, sharp smack never did anyone any harm, and it's absolutely crazy that because of the small percentage of scumbag parents out there who bash up their kids, that decent, discipline-conscious parents can no longer spank their children without fearing arrest! If you want the short-cut to an intolerable, barbaric society, then make it illegal for parents to smack their children!
