GONCALO HERALDS THE END OF THE ROAD FOR CAMP McCANN

We will always support you Goncalo!! Lots of Love to you and your family from the UK, Portugal, Australia, Sweden, Denmark, Greece, Spain, South Africa, Italy and other nationalities who contribute to this blog which is international in its support of you and what you worked so hard to achieve:

JUSTICE FOR MADELEINE BETH McCANN

Message from Gonçalo Amaral

As you can understand, I can't do any comment about the investigation on the "McCann Case"... (I have omitted the next part, in the interests of privacy but this did not in any way compromise the judicial secrecy laws)Looking towards my freedom of speech, I asked for my retirement last month.

All the insults, false accusations and lie's from the past year are now being brought to court from my lawyers (the very last one is from Daily Mail, yesterday).

I would like to say thank you to the thousands of persons that every day, for the last year, are supporting me all over the world. I would like to answer all the phone calls, emails and letters, but is not possible...there are so many!

As you can imagine, most of the days are not that easy, and these messages have been a great support not only for me, but also for my family. Once again, thank you all!

You're allowed do display this message on you site, and I thank you for that.

One last thing:*Soon, very soon the world will know the "Truth about the Lie" and "we will gain truth and justice for a little girl who has no voice", dead on the evening of May 3rd at apartment 5A, Ocean Club, Praia da Luz, Algarve, Portugal"*Best regards,Gonçalo Amaral

Hi Viv,
Thank you fr posting that message from Goncola Amaral on here, he is a real gentleman taking the trouble to thank everyone who has given him their support and good wishes. I like particularly the last paragraph, in which he advises us that soon the lies will be exposed and the truth will come out and justice be served for Madeleine who sadly died in the appartment on the 3rd May,that gives us real reason to be optimistic that the PJ will solve this case and bring those guilty to justice. Lizzy

Cláudia said...

Lizzy, justice may not come that way. But it will come. And the world will know. :-)

ta ra said...

Gracias, Snr. Amaral y thank you Mr Amaral.

Honest inquiry will expose the truth, I think, however long it takes, whatever it takes, 'whoever it hurts'.

Madeleine Beth McCann, dead aged 3,the beloved sister of twins aged 2, left along night after night in a foreign apartment while her parents were at the bar with friends - who also left defenceless babies alone, night after night.

These people are an offence against mankind; our adult commitment to the protection of children, and our future.

Boa noite, Portugal, the brave. The truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. This is what Portugal will pursue, I think. This is what Portugal will teach a weary world which gives as much attention to self-serving cynics as honest inquirers who serve justice, not just self preservation...cynics like the McCanns and their holiday friends...honest inquirers like the PJ, assisted by their British colleagues, Interpol, and child protection agencies.

Yes, Goncalo certainly does deserve to be honoured, he had the decency to stand up for what was right, decent, lawful and make these two Arguidos, for Madeleine and for all abused little children. He represents defenceless little children, not abusive parents like Kate and Gerry McCann or anything they choose to throw at him x For that we will always honour him.

Gonçalo Amaral retires Jornal de Noticias

Text: Marisa Rodrigues
(Thanks to 'Li' from the3arguidos forum for translation)

Gonçalo Amaral former coordinator of the Department of Criminal Investigation of the PJ of Portimão, goes into retirement. The request for retirement was presented a month ago and was accepted last week by the National Directory of the PJ. The JN knows that one of the motives for this decision were more than 38 years in the force and the wish to recuperate his "freedom of expression". The former coordinator was the head of the investigations in the case of the British girl Madeleine McCann and was removed due to declarations given to the "Diário de Notícias" with criticisms of the British police.

Defenantly off to bed now! Good night:-)

Dear Viv,
The timing of this latest development is exquisite, in my opinion. Last year on the DE, a few posters mentioned that the PJ investigation was being frustrated for UK political reasons. Some were even so bold as to say that the investigation had to be delayed because of upcoming elections. Pro-McCann mechanics dumped on that view; shouting that an election was years away.

Eh? The 'few' had no patience to point out the blindingly, bleedin' obvious: May 1st.

Tsk. The McCann Machine of media manipulators are cynically smart in their strategy; they are stupid in their tactics: their arrogant assumption that the public can be beaten with derision, and intimidation.

Justice for Madeleine, and her dear brother and sister - and that will only come when sick UK politics gets out of the way, and let's honest inquiry proceed...just as Portugal always wanted, just as ordinary British parents wanted.

'Prepare the public for this...' said Gordon Brown who along with Blair gave unprecedented support for the provincial wannabe McCanns and their friends - and their business associates (9 is a very odd number, isn't it?).

After May 1st, this whole case gets set free from political pimps, imo.

Best wishes to Mr Amaral, PJ, Portugal, Robert Murat, Mark Warner, and all those honest people who have been abused by liars, covering up for adult pleasure and PROFIT, enjoyed at the expense of innocent children.

Claudia,
It is good to know and I hope that soon everyone will know the truth as your former Police officer Amaral has stated. He is an honourable man and I hope he enjoys his retirement. Lizzy

Cláudia said...

Ana, yes he has! :-)

Cláudia said...

Lizzy, I'm sure his courage is going to bring him problems. But he is definately not the kind of man who turns his back on problems. And that is why I am proud of him. And that is why I thank him. He has sacrificed himself so a sweet little girl could have a voice while those who should have been willing to give their lives to protect her were busy doing other things.

lizzy said...

Claudia,
Well he is brave you are right, and his fight for the truth is probably the reason why your Police continue to try to get to the truth. I hope that it will come out one day and today feel more reassured that it may after hearing his words.

Cláudia said...

Viv, I just checked. Rosiepoophead is losing it. I can almost see her red face and the saliva 'leaking'. I would not lose it just because of this if I were her. Because she will need all the strength of her rage for what's coming next...

Unknown said...

Hiya all

The McCanns and Co have sought to withhold vital records re credit card, bank, telephone transactions particularly on or around 3 May but I believe they will obtained - UK Police certainly have the power to order the relevant businesses to disclose them and I am convinced that they will. These will provide the final conclusive piece in that jigsaw puzzle Sousa and FSS spoke about so many months ago.

I must do some other work now but will leave you to celebrate:-)

Luv Viv xxxxxxx

Cláudia said...

Lizzy, I believe that if all the people who have worked on this case (both in Portugal and the UK) had his courage, this would have been solved some time ago.

Oh, poor Madame R, and her House of Ill Repute. Ill Repute is the place of ... libel.

Her male thugs Lazarus and Dave on the DE thought I was referring to prostitutes when I called R and the girl gang a 'House of Ill Repute'.

Tsk. Rosiepops and her girl and boy gang have harmed the McCanns' right to an honest, fair defence in our democracy. Rosiepops and her girl/boy gang of thugs and media tarts afflict rather than aid honest inquiry, imo.

Hi, Rosie. You are a malign influence in the public debate, corrupting honest inquiry, threatening anyone who questions your version of reality.

Do you still think 'two can play that game'? 24/7. You haven't got the nerve or the skill for this.

A new post from Paulo Reis,Here the link! :)

The McCann effect

“TERRIFIED pensioners were mugged at gunpoint while on holiday in Portugal” - this the title of a tragic story, published by The Citizen, from Blackburn. Reading it, you can easily think that going to Darfur or Algarve is not very different, in what concerns risking your life. The persistent and powerful campaign of the McCann to undermine the credibility of Portugal, presenting it as a country with third world standards of life, shows its results. Next, probably, we will hear about cannibals hunting poor Irish pensioners in Faro and head-hunters collecting their souvenirs from innocent English schoolgirls in Portimão.

And all of this because the parents of three small children choose to have fun and a few drinks, instead of taking proper care of their sons. I was really touched by the quick and public apology of Clarence Mitchell, after newspapers run a story that could bring some damage to the image of Mark Warner, the company that owns the Ocean Club. It seems that Kate McCann said something, on a documentary to be broadcasted, that could be understood as a critic to Mark Warner. No, far from that, Mr. Clarence Mitchell told the Media, Kate McCann never had any intention of criticizing the company. Sounds strange, for me, this denial, so blunt and so fast... Were the McCann afraid of the reaction of Mark Warner? If yes, I wonder what could be the reason...

Anyway, we know that next May 3rd will be marked by a new, strong and violent attack to the Portuguese police investigation and, at the same time, the McCann will announce specific plans for future actions, in the field of child protection, where they want to play a key role. Allow me to suggest a slogan for their campaign to have an “Amber alert” in Europe: “Never live your children alone in an apartment to go out for diner with your friends...”

I bet they were so excited when then saw my gorgeous george come strolling into their lonely little place...

The significance from my point of view is these words come directly from a policeman who was party to all the initial cover up stories and change in stories.

Policemen and women like most adults particularly despise individuals who hurt young defenceless children. To have seen that occur and then to have to have seen the avoidance tactics used would surely have been extremely distressing for all the local police concerned.

Now he is retired he is free to express his words ...'very soon the world will know the "Truth about the Lie"...' says it all.

The future for those on that holiday is clear. Freedom or Prison. Alas that choice is not available to the ONLY victim of this tragedy Madeleine.

nancy said...

Goncala Amarel - your message is heartfelt and compassionate and shows what a true family man you are. Thank you for all your help in trying to get to the truth in this case and especially all you have done to bring justice for Madeleine. It is only a very small minority of misguided people who are determined to bring you down for their own selfish and underhand reasons. Enjoy your retirement with your family - you certainly deserve it!

Good morning Viv and everyone!
''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''
I think the McCann camp are starting to panic - listening to Radio 4 news this morning, there was Rachel Oldfield banging on about how bad the PJ's have handled this case! She maintained that they had all been told not to talk about the case, but that the PJ's had leaked stories etc. etc. There was someone else with her, but I didn't catch his name - It wasn't CM though, but was someone who held the same opinion as RO! Typical BBC bias. Tonight they air their radio programme with the McCanns and that will probably be a complete whitewash too!

Imagine if the Portuguese radio had gone on air to criticise the British Police - all hell would let loose!!

When crunch time comes venom tries to strike out.

If they truly wanted the Madeleine story to be sorted out they would welcome a court case where FACTS can be looked at. Not opinions dressed up as facts which is a well known technique in persuasive writing or speaking when your case is shallow.

The FACT that they do everything to avoid a courtroom environment proves (IMO) that they have something big to hide.

The FACT that we are seen as evil and spoken of in those terms shows that their defence is very weak.

We just happen to believe Madeleine is a 3yr old victim and we would like further investigation as to the FACTS surrounding that holiday and of FACTS that surround the subsequent days and weeks after her disappearance. How can that be seen as evil?

Statistically the parents are most likely to know more , indeed most likely to have been involved. All people like me want is a courtroom setting where direct probing questions can be stated directly at the mother and father.

If the parents and friends stand up to questioning in a sincere and honest way then one thing will occur and if they don't (as I believe) then we know the path their lives will take.

It is not evil to suggest that such people should not be above the law just because words that come from them suggest otherwise.

TRUE JUSTICE FOR MADDIE

What I omitted to add in my above blog is that this chap with Rachel Oldfield, also said that he had been in touch with a lawyer in Portugal who said it was highly unlikly because Madeleine's body has not been found that any of the three arguidos will be charged with anything at all!

Did the BBC interviewer, put forward the views of the PJ's at all?- no way Jose!!!

nancy said...

Rachel Oldfield - said the PJ's had used double standards and had acted outrageously - I just heard a bit of the news again! She said anyone with any common sense would know K&G were no way involved in their daughter's disappearance.

Panic stations are reckon!!! Why has she waited all this time to have her say - she is still in the same position as she was with the PJ's instructions after all?

I don’t particularly like to be a killjoy but how do we know that the message is from Amaral?
And even if it is, he hasn’t been part of the investigation for months and due to the secrecy laws (if I’ve understood them correctly) shouldn’t be updated on the investigation. So how can he know that “Soon, very soon the world will know the "Truth about the Lie" and "we will gain truth and justice for a little girl who has no voice"”?

Furthermore there’s an article,
article
on BBC’s site where the President of the Portuguese Order of Lawyers, Antonio Marinho e Pinto, told the BBC: "There are strong reasons to fear that judicial secrecy is being used... to conceal the fact that the police have gone down a blind alley and don't have a way out."

SwedishMum said...

Hi Nancy,

I see you've already reported about the BBC interview. I had trouble making the link work (thanks Rat, finally made it! Apparently, I'm not that stupid afterall :-)) and didn't read other posts while working with the link.

nancy said...

HiViv -

I just read your blog where you said that Rosiepops has sent a message to CM - perhaps he went berzerk and connived with the BBC to get together Rachel Oldfield and this other chap on the BBC this morning to run down the PJ's!

I bet it was his doing because it's too much of a coincidence that this is the first time RO has spoken out and it's the day after we receive this message from Goncalo Amarel!

Bring it on PJ's!!

I don't know if I'm going to be able to stomach this interview with the McCanns this evening - I'll make sure I have a huge box of tissues ready for the floods of tears!!

nancy said...

Swedish Mum -

Sorry I got in first, but I just couldn't believe what I was hearing this morning - I always listen to Radio 4 news, but I am really getting fed up with their bias against the PJ's! No mention of Madeleine was made of course!

Justice for Madeleine!

SwedishMum said...

Nancy,

I finally learnt how to do that link-thing. That's good enough for me :-)

I haven't listened to the interview myself but it really is sad if Madeleine wasn't mentioned.

Last week Clarence tells everyone Racheld Oldfield was in Tanner & O'Briens room all night the night before Madeleine vanished, why?

This week, for the first time in nearly a year, Rachel decides to speak out on Radio, again why?

They are cooking up something!!

Tanner has proved "unsuitable" so they have called in the reserves. I wonder what Rachel has been doing for the last few months?

Perhaps she has been taking lessons?

HI Viv

Found this article on Gazeta Digital......The McCann effect

I can assure everybody that this message is 100% genuine. I went through the official police channels and Mr Amaral replied via his personal email address (which I am not going to divulge!). I sent him my support and mentioned the site so that he could see I was genuine in pursuit of truth and justice for Madeleine.

Although he mentions in this email that I can use his comments on the site, I actually only posted the 'thank you' part of the email last night. I wanted to go back to him to ensure he was 100% sure that I could use ALL of the email on the site. He replied today in the affirmative.

I must admit I have wrestled with myself overnight and this morning, but when Mr Amaral replied, once again confirming that I could use all the message, I decided to publish it on the site.

The email is presented as I received it, written in English.

This was posted by RedSquare on the 3As. He is a very well respected poster, far from stupid, and he would not have posted it if he didn't believe it was 100% genuine.

The style of English suggests to me that it has been written by a well-educated foreigner with a good grasp of English, but with a couple of wee giveaways that tell us that English is not their first language. These kind of things are actually quite hard to fake.

As far as I am concerned, I believe that the message is 100% kosher.

Mr Amaral, I would like to thank you not only for all the work you have put in here, but for the hope that you have given to all of us, that justice and truth will finally see the light of day. I wish you well in your retirement and my best regards to your supportive family.

And if you are thinking of writing a book in your retirement, I, for one, will be in the queue to buy it!

Obrigada, sinceramente. Melhores desejos para o futuro.

I am sure that Amaral was in contact with the new police chief re the investigation as even though he was transferred to another job, am sure he would need to have been spoken to ,as his was the team who found the evidence that led them to suspect the parents of being involved in the death and subsequent cover up of their daughter. So it is quite possible that he has been kept fully informed re the case. As for what we read in the press re his removal that was all influenced by CM so would be heavily biased in favour of the Mccanns...Lizzy

lizzy said...

Stella,
I agree Clarrie and Rachel are obviously trying a different tack now Jane Tanner has proved so unreliable a witness. I wonder what the reason they will give for Rachel being in the appartment that night, and won't the Police wonder why she did not say this in her original statement? They are digging a deeper hole for themselves in my opinion. Lizzy

SwedishMum said...

Lizzy/Rat,

I'm not accepting everything written in the press as facts - far from it. But I don't accept everything written on blogs as facts either and that's why I wondered about the authenticity of the message from Amaral. He could very well have written it (as far as I'm concerned) - but it may just as well have been a hoax (as far as I'm concerned).

As for the secrecy laws: yes, he most certainly will have been spoken to about the case and have probably been informed of later developments (if there have been any). But would he really risk the PJ's reputation by writing what he's supposed to have written (“Soon, very soon the world will know the "Truth about the Lie" and "we will gain truth and justice for a little girl who has no voice"”). I grant you that he's not revealing anything - but still, there is a certain kind of "judgement" over the statement that doesn't rhyme very well with the official stand that the police are investigating all possible aspects (even the abduction-theory).

Stella said...

Lizzy

The thing is, I thought everyone had gone out to Chaplins that night, well everyone except Rachel it seems.

Is this the start of them admitting to swinging nights?

A friend of Kate and Gerry McCann has blasted police over leaks

McCann friend attacks police leaks

A friend of Kate and Gerry McCann who was with them the night their daughter Madeleine disappeared has launched a furious attack on the Portuguese police.

Rachael Oldfield, a member of the so-called "Tapas Seven", accused detectives of "outrageous" leaking of case information to the media.

She said officers were guilty of "double standards" for insisting the group obey strict secrecy laws.

She told the BBC: "They leaked information and these rumours that have flown around for the past year - it is outrageous. We have all felt very angry about it.

"We were asked to comply with the Portuguese judicial secrecy laws (under) which we were made to understand that we could face two years in prison for speaking out.

"So, as a group, we have not said anything from day one. There have been all these rumours flying around and leaks from sources close to the PJ (Policia Judiciaria), which we haven't been able to refute.

"We would have loved to have spoken out really and just put the record straight, but believed that the investigation would be the best way of finding Madeleine if we co-operated with the police and complied by their rules and regulations."

Her comments came in the documentary Searching for Madeleine which is to be broadcast on Radio 4.

Earlier this month, Kate and Gerry McCann accused Portuguese police of a "blatant" attempt to smear them after transcripts from police interviews with the couple were leaked to foreign media.

Madeleine went missing from her family's holiday apartment in Praia da Luz, Portugal, on May 3 last year.

Good morning, all.
SM, for what is worth, I can guarantee you that the message is absolutely genuine and was written and sent by Gonçalo Amaral. And soo everyone will be sure about it.

dolores said...

Stella,
Apparently it was the 2nd May they were at Chaplins, when Mrs Fenn reported Maddie crying for almost 2hours, and a MW staff member was sent out to find them.Chaplins is behind the church almost 1/2 mile away.

Stella said...

Dolores,

Thanks I already knew about that which is why there is no explanation for Rachel to be in Tanner & O'Briens room. If she was there alone, why? if she was there with someone else, who was it and why did "they" not here Madeleine crying??

MW was probably knocing on 5a's door that night and got no reply. So if Rachel was in 5b, why did she not hear the door being knocked?

SwedishMum said...

Claudia,
of course your word is good for me, I honestly don't mean to cause trouble here. I'm just cautious whenever something written on a blog is taken for facts (things on blogs aren't always facts, this case alone has resulted in numerous "facts" on blogs and in papers and they can't all be true).

Stella,
I'm afraid I'm not being very clear. But what I mean (roughly) is that if the PJ are still trying to remain "objective" in the publics eye (assuming that they haven't got enough evidence to convict the McCanns for anything more than neglect) then Amaral saying something like what he said could undermine the PJ's reputation, since he is (in fewer words but yet) saying that there is more to this than we've been told. And saying that calls for something to happen and if it doesn't it somehow leaves the police who are investigating the case today in a bit of a spot.
I'm sorry, I can't find the proper words to express my concern, but I hope you get the gist of it.

Stella said...

Swedishmum

I think Goncalo's words sound like that of a very confident man. I do not believe what he has said has harmed the PJ or the case in any way. All he has basically said is that justice will be done. He has given no details away, and from his words comes great strength for all the PJ to carry on.

This really is very good news....

dolores said...

SwedishMum said...

Gina said...

Hello all, I have not been around much this week and am just trying to catch up. Seems there are a lot of interviews being aired all of a sudden now, Oldfield this morning, who will be next. One thing is for sure I will NOT be watching a 2 hour documentary next week. Whilst I think it is very sad that nobody knows where Madeleine is, a 2 hour programme on one missing child is just going too far IMO. Heaven knows how parents of other missing kids must be feeling about all this attention.

Stella said...

Swedishmum

I understand your concerns, but no one on here would create a reply from Goncalo, would they not find themselves in a lot of trouble with the PJ?

By now Swedishmum, you must have come to know who you can listen to and who you cannot on these sites. This is really good news in the fight for justice for Madeleine.

Stella said...

Gina

Don't worry I will be recording it and disecting it as usual. Just like the "I was carrying" slip up, I am sure this one will have double being on for 2 hours.

Cláudia said...

Hey, SM. I know you don't mean trouble. I just wanted to let you know that this one particular thing is a fact. And that Gonçalo Amaral is now retired. The time has come for him to fight all the filthy lies told about him. Some people should be very worried by now.

Cláudia said...

Hello, Gina. Hope you're feeling better! :-)

SwedishMum said...

Hi Gina,

how's that bug of yours doing? (Hope you're feeling better)

Yes, this must be a true trauma for parents of other missing children, added to the trauma of having lost their kids in first place. Why isn't our child as important? Why aren't we?

SwedishMum said...

Claudia,

I wouldn't exclude that some people are worried ...

Gina said...

Hi Swedish, I am a bit better thanks, it is just one of those annoying bugs that will go when it feels like it. Back on the ciggies so will smoke it out now :-)

I have just been trying to catch up and I too am a bit confused why everybody seems to be speaking out at the same time at the moment. It seems like "interview wars" have now started. Re Amaral, I can well understand why he wants to put the record straight. His reputation after all those years in the force has been distroyed by accusations. However I, like you, wonder why he sent a message to a blog so soon, I thought he would be dealing with more important issues at the moment. I am going to wait and see what happens. The only thing I am sure of is that if this email is bogus, whoever sent it will be on Amaral's hit list too. I know it was not doing him harm, but nobody has the right to pretend to be someone else

Gina said...

Hi claudia, yes I am a bit better thanks. Had hoped the bug would make me loose some weight, but no!!!!

Joe said...

It appears there is nothing going to dislodge the sanctitude of this lot. Oldfield comes across in the article as haughty and patronising IMO. One year on the little I have read on her interview gives me the impression that the mystery still remains. When was this interview before or after the PJ visit? Could any Police force have ever encountered a more unco-operative gang that are so arrogant the words fail one.

SwedishMum said...

Gina,

I wonder how long his hit list is, there must be several names on it. People haven't exactly been modest when it comes to having opinions about him.

Cláudia said...

Gina, I'm sorry about the bug not helping you lose weight. :-)
P.S: It is not bogus. :-)

SM, some people should be worried. And some people certainly are.

Swedish, Some of the opinions of him I found absolutely childish name calling words, which did nothing to convince me to share that view. If someone had written an something worth reading I may have considered it by I just scroll on by, fat, keystone, slob, sardine muncher etc. as pathetic

SwedishMum said...

Gina, I don't know if you've ever heard of children's books about a cat called "Pelle Svanslös" (Peter-No-Tail) by the Swedish author Gösta Knutsson. Anyway, in these books there are a couple of cats (Bill and Bull) who are always repeating each others statements (Yes, said Bill. Yes, said Bull.) And I feel kind of like Bull on here, always saying yes to your statements :-)
And the last one was no exception.

Gina said...

Claudia, you must not take offence at what I am about to say because we are all in the same team and working together, but you have to realise that some of us will not take everything we read on face value. Maybe you are privy to some information that you cannot reveal that makes you certain this email is not bogus, but I do not have that information so, although I think it probably is, I am still not totally sure.

The good news is that if the PJ have been reading all the blogs, this one and the 3A's have come up with so many possibilities and theories for them to take a look at too. I would be interested to know what sort of check was done on that private jet that left the area.

I also feel that a lot has been done to hinder the police investigations. I am sure mobile phone, and bank records were requested in the early days, but delays have been caused. I think some people have forgotten that the UK police are also involved in this and any criticism of the time taken to sort this out also reflects on them too for not pushing for these records sooner. WHY WHY is the big question,

Cláudia said...

Yes, Gina, why is the one million dollar question!
And yes, I am absolutely positive that e-mail is genuine.

SwedishMum said...

Gina,

It might be that you express MY views much better than I manage to do. That's why I turn into Bull on here (I'm not usually like that)

Gina said...

Hi Swedish, so we are now Bill and Bull Cuckoo:-)

Actually I have nested here now because on the other site it is ok if I mess about with cockney lessons etc. but it is impossible to criticise anything else. At least here I can voice a slightly different view without people throwing their toys out of the pram

SwedishMum said...

Gina,

I saw your discussion the other day and can only say:
The life of a cuckoo is hard!

Gina said...

Swedish, you know there are two meaning to cuckoo, and I was certainly going cuckoo (nuts) trying to make a point that was being taken the wrong way, so I gave up. I thought to myself why am I doing this, I didn't go out and leave my kid, I didn't stir up all this media circus which caused resentment and bad feeling, so I just gave up.

SwedishMum said...

Have to go now,
see you all later.

Have a nice afternoon!

Gina said...

Claudia, I am pretty certain the email is genuine, but not entirely sure, but it does not matter either way. I am a pain in the arse when I get my teeth into something I want to know so much before I will pass judgement.

Judgement got passed by me on the McCanns when I saw for myself their attitude toward this whole affair and I just cannot bear to even watch them anymore.

SwedishMum said...

Gina,

I know what you were trying to say. Be glad that you had another nest to turn to. Others aren't always that lucky.

atardi said...

Mr. Amaral,

Don't know if you will read this message but I salute you from Holland.

Almost a year ago you got involved in the disappearance of Madeleine.

And as all policemen do you wanted to solve this tragic case.

Unfortunately you and had to drop the abduction theory and that's when the problems started. Because how could you dare to look into the direction of 2 doctors.

You could have chosen for the easiest way but you didn't. I admire you for that.

It's time that the public must know the truth about the lies.

God bless you and your family.

"Justicia para Madeleine"

Cláudia said...

By, SM. Have a great afternoon.

Gina, but I am absolutely sure. And soo you will be too! :-)

Gina said...

Claudia, what do you think his plan is. I cannot work out how he can prove anything at this stage without letting out information that is secret. Haven't put that very well but I think you know what I mean

Cláudia said...

Gina, only Gonçalo can answer that queston. And if by any chance I knew something, I would never say it publicly for obvious reasons.
The only thing I can say is what I've been saying for quite some time. There are people who are willing to sacrifice a lot so the truth will be known.

Joe said...

I feel a bit like Gina and I am not convinced about Mr.Amaral's email, simply because Mr.Rebelo would not be happy about it and the last part could be wishful thinking. From what I have observed over the months in my limited capacity as a blog reader/poster it is a case that will be very difficult to prove. Yes we all suspect we know what happened as do the PJ but trying to prove that in court would possibly put any prosecutor off, especially when political interference is possibly involved and most of the media against you.
I do not want to be pessimistic but Justice is not always a reality . See you all later.

nancy said...

Gina -

I'm glad to see you back - just try rest a lot and keep drinking the agua!!!

If you've got Radio 4, the McCanns are on tonight at 9.00 our time - I'm sure it will be the usual bias from the BBC, but at least it will give us all something to discuss tomorrow!!

Gina said...

Claudia, I full understand why you could not state publicly anything if you knew it. We have seen from past experience how foolish that is and how some will use it to ridicule the person making the comment.

I just hope he knows what he is dealing with because being English I can tell you what those who are against the PJ are going to say about his motives and saving face and making money out of it are going to feature high on the list. No that I agree with those view, just saying

Gina said...

Nancy, I will leave it to you to suffer through the programme and report back tomorrow, I just cannot bear to see or listen to them anymore. I am totally opposed to the amount of coverage they get, it is just far too much IMO and nobody ever asks difficult questions or has a representative to air the views of alternative theories

Cláudia said...

Joe, Mr Rebelo has no say in what Mr Amaral does or says. He is not a member of the PJ anymore and he can now say whatever he wishes. In fact, that is why he asked for his retirement. Of course you are free not to believe the message is genuine (I also had doubts before being absolutely sure). But soon everybody (pros and antis) will be positive.

Gina said...

Claudia I am sorry, I am still not sure wht I am trying to say, but I think it is what can Mr. Amaral do at this stage. Surely, even though he is no longer a member of the PJ he would be breaching some law if he spoke out at this stage about what evidence they have.

nancy said...

Gina -

I know what you mean - I'll probably feel like screaming myself as I did this morning listening to Rachel Oldfield banging on about how outrageous the PJ's behaviour is and how they have leaked stuff. Of course the BBC didn't question anything she said, for instance why didn't Kate answer all the questions she was asked, or why did everyone collect in the the children's bedroom right after she disappeared and contaminate the DNA! No, the BBC are no doubt airing this tonight to put the McCanns in a good light. As I said earlier, not one of them mentioned Madeleine who has paid the price for their 'outragous' neglect!

Cláudia said...

Gina, there are many reasons that would prevent me from saying anything publicly if I knew something. But fear of being ridicule certainly isn't one, Gina. I've been called everything for the last months and honestly that does not have any effect in me because it has absolutely no implications in my real life and among the people I love. If I knew anything I would never say it publicly because I would be breaking someone's confidence and trust. I certainly have many flaws (as all human beings). But there's something people cannot accuse me of being and that is disloyal.
And he is perfectly aware of the situatuion, Gina. As you can imagine, he is not the kind of man who turns his back on problems and obstacles. The truth is what really matters.

nancy said...

Swedish Mum -

It is good to have things questioned from time to time - that's what blogs are about, and as long as nobody insults someone else then feel free to put your views across. It makes the whole thing more interesting. I'm sure that Viv and Claudia would agree with that.

Gina said...

Nancy, that is the whole point isn't it nobody mentioned Madeleine on these programmes anymore it is just the poor hard done by parents and the wicked PJ. It makes me sick. Keep a bucket next to you tonight and I will read your opinion of the programme in the morning (although you could probably write it now!!!)

Claudia, I have never doubted your integrity hun. One of my faults is I try to keep posts short and they often give the wrong impression.

I think maybe you miss my point re Mr. Amaral, I have no reason to doubt his integrity and sincerity I am just questioning whether he really knows what he is dealing with (eg. a load of biased arseholes). I would have thought his first priorty was to have his name cleared over the charges he faces, then once that is done, go go go !!!!

Cláudia said...

Gina, you did not give the wrong impression. I know what you mean. The charges will be dealt with in the appropriate place, the courtroom. People who have nothing to hide know that the courtroom is the place where the tuth can be found. Those who have things to hide run from it like hell.
And yes, Gonçalo Amaral really knows what and who he is dealing with. He is just not prepared to have that stop him. He's got one of the things I appreciate the most in people: a backbone.

I hope one day Goncalo will look back on his life and be very proud. This guy deserves a medal.......

Cláudia said...

Stella, I'm sure he feels proud already. He should. We, here in my country, are always proud of men and women who sacrifice themselves so little defenceless children have a voice. Especially when those children cannot count on their parents to protect them. In that case, others have to step in.

Gina, imo the tapas group are never going to talk unless its with one hand on a bible in front of a room full of people wearing funny wigs.

Gina said...

Hi Isis, I think you are right my friend. The saddest thing of all is, that it turns out they have not been co-operative just in order to hide some silly secret which is more important to them than finding the whereabout of Madeleine, they are even sicker than the sickest people of some of the blogs IMO

SwedishMum said...

Isis/Gina,

I doubt they will talk even in court. They can't refer to the fifth amendment like people always do in American movies/series, but I'm quite sure they will behave like mussels anyway. (But they can refuse to answer on grounds that they might be incriminating themselves otherwise, can't they?)

SwedishMum said...

Nancy,

I appreciate your post 12:54 and I think you're right: questioning is important. Without questioning, everybody would still believe that Madeleine was abducted and the alternatives would never have been investigated.

Rori Hegarty said...

Gina/Sweedishmum, to be honest i think that probably only 3 or 4 of the tapsa group know wht went on that evening, their partners may or may not have their suspicions , who knows.

SwedishMum said...

Isis,

I don't think all know either - 9 persons are a few too many to keep a secret like that.

Gina said...

Actually Swedish I don't think they will even see the inside of a court room unless it is proven that it was one of them that had anything to do with Madeleine's disappearance. They are hardly witnesses to anything are they. I suppose the only thing they can say is about the times they checked (or didn't IMO) and others may dispute those times, but at the end of the day none of them saw anything worth mentioning as far as I can tell and if they did surely they would have said something by now. They make me laugh, they say they are unable to speak, yet they are now doing interviews. They are not arguidos so surely they are allowed to say something if they want as Mrs. Fenn and others have

SwedishMum said...

But Gina,

you're forgetting that Jane Tanner saw bundleman go in one direction. Or was it in the direct opposite direction? I really can't remember. But wait, neither can she! Or how was it??? :-)

Claudia,

PSML,

Pooperplops is suggesting that PT will be expelled from the EU.

What would have prevented an abduction (if there ever was one). Three little children aged 3 and under NOT being left alone in a holiday flat either locked or unlocked approx 100mts outside the holiday complex where the parents chose to wine and dine with their friends. Hmmm Tapas or look after our precious children.....Tapas it is.
How would an Amber Alert have saved this child when the parents did not contact the Police for at least 40 mins when discovered missing (a mile a minute for an abduction). Amber Alert is only used when the Police decide if an abduction has taken place. What evidence was there to suggest an abduction....hmmm window jemmied not jemmied....apt broken into....not broken into. PJ, please bring justice for the only victim, justice for Madeleine.

This is part of Oldfields interview

"We were asked to comply with the Portuguese judicial secrecy laws (under) which we were made to understand that we could face two years in prison for speaking out.

"So, as a group, we have not said anything from day one. There have been all these rumours flying around and leaks from sources close to the PJ (Policia Judiciaria), which we haven't been able to refute.

..................................
My question is, so what has changed, she is speaking out now and if what she says is correct faces a 2 year jail term, so why not do it sooner. Does it also mean Nanny Pennington and all the others that gave statements to the police and later interviews also faced imprisonment. This just does not make any sense at all, it is making these people look desparate now IMO if they really wanted to help find Madeleine they could have done all this sooner

Zodiac I know as fact that a country (not portugal) with a known totally corrupt policeforce was admitted to the EU so Rosiepops hasn't got a hope in hell of getting Portugal tipped out of it on the grounds she is suggesting. It is other political reasons why countries remain.

LittleGreyCell said...

Zodiac,

Surely, what with Rosiepops' and Clarrie's contacts, they can get Portugal expelled from the planet?

I mean, why stop at Europe?

Hi Gina,

How are you feeling?

Gina said...

LGC I am ok thanks, almost back to normal (whatever that is). Just been sitting here catching up with emails and things and posting a load of useless information on here .-)

LittleGreyCell said...

Gina,

Glad you're feeling better. You're information is never useless!!

Gina said...

LCG I was just thinking. If Rosie can get Portugal thrown out of the EU I will ask her to also try and get Spain thrown out too because I am getting really fed up with numpties that we did not vote for imposing rules that override those made by those we did vote for.

Example: No smoking anywhere -not in Spain we still are given CHOICES, there are no smoking restaurants, smoking restaurants, and the bigger ones have two sections. The EU are going mad about this and are still trying to impose the rule. Now they are saying that Spain has to put the ciggies up to the same price as the UK by taxing them. That is just one example

I always find it useful to take a peek at the “Properties” of Word or other documents. It never ceases to amaze me how careless some people are.

In the new HTFM website, http://helpingtofindmadeleine.org, you will find downloadable Word documents in the news section. The document “Statement Morocco” reveals its properties to be that of:

Author: Isabelle (Mills)
Company: St Johns Chambers

A quick google search reveals St Johns Chambers to be a Bristol-based legal company, http://www.stjohnschambers.co.uk:

"Welcome to St John's Chambers
From Commercial & Chancery to Family, and from Public & Administrative Law to Personal Injury, St John’s Chambers provides one of the most comprehensive sources of legal expertise and advice in the South West.

We have over 60 respected Barristers, with six Silks, including many nationally renowned specialists, often working on high profile cases that are of national importance.

Our client base includes many major regional and national law firms, representing prominent businesses and private individuals requiring representation and advice.

In all cases we seek to make our services accessible, flexible and focused on the people that matter most – our clients".

The fact that St Johns Chambers specialize in the areas of:

Child Abduction and Clinical Negligence and Holiday Litigation
suggests the possibility of a broader commercial relationship between themselves and the Tapas group, or members thereof. If this were true, then Mills' role may be to generate public support for the McCanns via her HTFM activities, thereby making possible litigation against the PJ and/or Mark Warner more likely to succeed and/or successful prosecution by the PJ more difficult. It would certainly fit in with her role in the company of being "responsible for chambers marketing activities, public relations, co-ordinating the website..."

"New Head of Chambers at St Johns
We are delighted to announce that Richard Stead is the new Head of Chambers with Susan Jacklin QC and Leslie Blohm QC as his Deputy Heads".

Is this Richard Stead perchance the same Richard Stead who owns a villa in Praia da Luz? Or is it just another "coincidence"?

http://www.ownersdirect.co.uk/portugal/P4567.htm (see bottom of page)
http://www.villa-praia-luz.com/

Perhaps it IS a coincidence, but one worth noting for future reference, just in case.

Fiinally, the other Word document on the HTFM site, on "Spain, Ceuta, Melilla Islands", is by "Godelieve”, but no company is given.

However, a quick glance at http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/prot ... tures.html, which is an online petition signed by Isabelle Mills, suggests that “Godelieve” is surely Godelieve Koelma. Godelieve Koelma seems to be a web designer and all-round funky person, as her website http://www.lieveke.com/Default.htm reveals. She also has a myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/lieveke_dot_com

A Dutch connection!

Gina,

I'm sure RosieXenophobia won't have a problem with kicking out Spain. I'd love to have a word with her about Gordon Brown, myself, but somehow I don't think she'd be up for that one...

Hello Hope,

How are you doing today?

Sorry not to have got back to the computer last night after supper (nothing to do with my cooking...this time...)

I think you asked what I'm working on at the moment; I'm rewriting a stage play. Deadline first week in May. Lots of other stuff to research, too. Arrrrgggghhhh!!!!

Don't know what I'm giong to do if Big News breaks before then...get out my oil lamp, I should think.

How's your writing going??

X

Cláudia said...

LGC, you made me chuckle! :-)
Thank you!

LittleGreyCell said...

Claudia,

My pleasure!

I think the reason Clarrie's gone so quiet lately is that he's in negotiations with the other God about arranging heavenly status for you-know-who...

hope4truth said...

Hi LGC

I was not back last night started cleaning my kitchen and got carried away.

You will be burning the midnight oil if any news breaks...

Our writing is ok it is just hard when we have never done it before and we have scraps of ideas everywhere and keep changing things all the time. But we have fun writing it and it makes us both laugh so either we have a unique sense of humor and only we get it or it really is funny???

LGC, I have just got used to Spain the way it is, so don't want any changes from the EU at the mo. They will suggest we should have TV licences next!!!!

I get uptight with people who take things just a tad too far and deal with it in my own way. A few years ago I flew from LA to Heathrow. Terrible bumpy flight with loads of delays at takeoff and waiting for luggage. I was gasping for a coffee and a ciggie. My friend was waiting for me with the coffee and as I was one pace away from the exit I lit a cigarette. I felt something poke in my back and turned around to find some jobsworth airport cleaner had just poked me with his broom. He said "er you, can't you read" as he pointed to the no smoking sign to which I replied "of course I can and that is why I have been able to obtain a far more challenging job than yourself also I have the ability to think of other places where that broom can be poked if it touches me again".

Guess I just sort things out for myself, even if speaking out means I can go to prison for two years (unlike some)
