BRIAN KENNEDY "FAMILY MEMBER" ! "RETIRED HEAD TEACHER" !

On checking the FAQ's re the Fund on the Find Maddie site I see that Brian Kennedy is listed as a FAMILY MEMBER AND RETIRED HEAD TEACHER. So, being a family member does explain why he is supporting the McCanns with all his money!! But in the press - see further below - we are always told that he is a multi million pound businessman. Why cant the McCanns and their family tell the truth about anything?

I have no doubt the other "family member" John McCann is claiming support from the fund given he has given his job up - or is Brian Kennedy supporting him as well?

How can Brian Kennedy act as an impartial and honest director of the Find Maddie Fund when he is also contributing and spearheading an apparently separate fund for a legal campaign to support her parents. Her parents are arguidos in the disappearance of Madeleine. Does this not give him a conflict of interests in being involved in two conflicting roles? I do not have any expertise in company law, as I specialised in crime/family but this does NOT sound right to me!

Interested to note Brian Kennedy has a property in Spain........(!)

Who are the directors of Madeleine’s Fund?
There are seven directors of the Fund. They are:
• Peter Hubner; a retired consultant;
• Brian Kennedy, a retired head teacher;
• John McCann, a medical representative;
• Esther McVey, managing director of a public relations & communications company;
• Doug Skehan, clinical director in cardiology at Glenfield Hospital;
• Philip Tomlinson, a retired solicitor and former coroner in Leicestershire;
• Michael Linnett, a retired accountant

11. I’ve heard the directors are members of Madeleine’s family. Is this true?
Two of the directors, Brian Kennedy and John McCann, are members of Madeleine’s family. The other five directors are independent appointments. They were appointed to ensure the Board of Directors had independence and the range of skills required to manage the Fund.

Mr Kennedy said “In light of the quite literally incredible accusations against Gerry and Kate McCann, which are clearly exacerbating their emotional torture, I felt compelled to offer, along with other like-minded businessmen, financial support and the full logistical support of the Latium team.”
Latium Group, which includes the Wilmslow-based business dealing in plastics, glass processing, kitchens and home improvements, is owned by Mr Kennedy.
The owner of Sale Sharks rugby club is worth an estimated £250 million and involved in a number of businesses with an annual turnover of £500 million.
He bought the Everest double glazing business in 1999 for £47 million and then sold his stake in the company for £63 million in 2003.
The father of five was brought up a Jehovah’s witness and divides his time between his house in Congleton in Cheshire and a home in Spain.
His support has boosted the McCann’s legal team.

I had not realised he was an uncle - wish I had got one like that - but there again I dont need huge pots of money quite like they do!

In the article it says he lives in Cheshire - has he moved to be closer to them!

Kind Regards

Hi Viv

They are two different Brian Kennedy's...
Uncle Brian is an older gentleman that acted as a spokesperson for them for a while. It must be said that he did a far better job than Clarence.
The other one you know is the man footing the bill for the lawyers, Clarence and Metodo 3.
